They will have their own stadium apart of the city convention center. If you don’t know Dallas convention center is Big! They will also have team facilities on par with the Mavs. With the addition of Paige the Wings will be contenders for the Championship.
This is not what the WNBA should allow. It makes a mockery of the entire reason that the draft is structured the way it is in every sport. Being from Dallas, I was really excited when we won the draft lottery and it appeared would be getting Paige. There has been so much negativity surrounding the “rumors” that she does not want to come here that I am now getting excited about trading the pick drafting Olivia Miles who who likely be excited to come play with Arike her fellow ND alum and still have more draft capital to get more talent. With the picks and players we can get for Satou and the #1 pick, our rebuild won’t be long either. 😎

If the WNBA submit to this demand then there is the real potential for this to effect the NBA, the NFL and MLB as well. I have heard reports that the WNBPA are encouraging Bueckers behind the scenes to do a 'full Eli Manning' and take the system on to help expedite a change in the WNBA draft system. If successful, this could facilitate a change in the WNBA, introducing the "blue blood" system that has infected the NCAA and that consistently gives a handful of colleges an unfair advantage.
so funny enough i did A LOT of digging in this subject and i couldn’t find it anywhere. So I posted in a WNBA space and the only person that responded to me was the Mick talk hoops guy, and it came from a conversation that Nneka was having with Sue Bird, where they had mentioned the women’s soccer league had just abolished it, and it was just a conversation wondering if it could work in the W. In hockey, we had Eric Lindros. In his case, he had nothing against the team or the city, but he felt the owner of the team was unforgivably dirty. It took years for fans to understand the reasoning. If Dallas has ownership or management issues too, it would be in their best interests to clean that up.

The first time a player demanded to be traded away as a first pick of the draft was John Elway in 1983 for the Baltimore Colts. Caitlin Clark going to a WNBA team that has had the worst winning percentage in the last 7 years, and making the playoffs the first year as a rookie is an amazing feat.
I'm tired of the Paige drama. Dallas should force Paige to publicly say that she will not play for the Wings. IIRC, Dallas’s big move is going from a 6,000-seat arena to an 8,000 seat one. If I’m Bueckers, that’s simply not good enough. I.e. I’m giving the Wings 3 months to sell themselves to Mark Cuban or the new Mavs owners, move to a legit NBA arena, and guarantee me the pro experience won’t be a downgrade from UConn. I think she should just go where she’s drafted like anyone else and understand that’s part of the process… You’re being drafted first to make a team better, which is an honor. You should use your leverage not to change the way the entire system has always worked, but to make sure the place you go to treats the team well. In the end, if she doesn’t want to go to Dallas, I’m sure she’s not the first to feel that way about where they have to go. But if that’s the case, stay in college and get drafted next year.

Paige is injury prone, and she will be exposed this season in the NCAA, once UConn starts playing some real teams, and not just the Big East sideshows.
Arike is a great one on one player, I did a stat comparison between her and Caitlin and what I found is she shoots more with a lower percentage than Caitlin, also fewer assists. I compared their rookie seasons then I compared Caitlin's rookie season to Arike's 2024 season, her 6th season and she's not running away with it.

This completely undermines the American collegiate system of development and player progression across multiple sports. If the WNBA submit to this demand then there is the real potential for this to effect the NBA, the NFL and MLB as well. I have heard reports that the WNBPA are encouraging Bueckers behind the scenes to do a 'full Eli Manning' and take the system on to help expedite a change in the WNBA draft system. If successful, this could facilitate a change in the WNBA, introducing the "blue blood" system that has infected the NCAA and that consistently gives a handful of colleges an unfair advantage.

I'm tired of the Paige drama. Dallas should force Paige to publicly say that she will not play for the Wings. If she does, then they should shop around their #1 for the best value, and give a sigh of thanks. Paige is going to be more trouble than she is worth. I once saw a TV series called 'the Rivals of Sherlock Holmes.' The WNBA could do a new TV series 'the Rivals of Caitlin Clark.' Paige would have several episodes. She's not a dominant guard in the NCAA, and I think she will crash and burn in the WNBA.
The disparity between the “have” and “have not” teams on the WNBA is fascinating. Like, Indiana is a tiny market, but being the sister team of the Pacers meant Caitlin Clark could enter the league with more or less the same infrastructure as supports Tyrese Halliburton. IIRC, Dallas’s big move is going from a 6,000-seat arena to an 8,000 seat one. If I’m Bueckers, that’s simply not good enough. I.e. I’m giving the Wings 3 months to sell themselves to Mark Cuban or the new Mavs owners, move to a legit NBA arena, and guarantee me the pro experience won’t be a downgrade from UConn. If WNBA doesn’t want to blow its momentum, these mom-and-pop shoe-string teams need to cash out to ownership groups with deeper pockets and a willingness to prioritize growth over cash flow/profits like the Aces or Liberty did.

I think she should just go where she’s drafted like anyone else and understand that’s part of the process… You’re being drafted first to make a team better, which is an honor. You should use your leverage not to change the way the entire system has always worked, but to make sure the place you go to treats the team well.
In the end, if she doesn’t want to go to Dallas, I’m sure she’s not the first to feel that way about where they have to go. But if that’s the case, stay in college and get drafted next year.

This video does not get to the point. Paige is over-rated, and she knows it. She doesn't want to go to the Wings because she would never look good next to the greatest shooter in basketball, Arike. Paige is injury prone, and she will be exposed this season in the NCAA, once UConn starts playing some real teams, and not just the Big East sideshows.
Arike is a great one on one player, I did a stat comparison between her and Caitlin and what I found is she shoots more with a lower percentage than Caitlin, also fewer assists. I compared their rookie seasons then I compared Caitlin's rookie season to Arike's 2024 season, her 6th season and she's not running away with it.
