Plug the aux cable into your PC's mic input and record yourself playing something. That way you can "play" without hearing it. Then you can listen to the recording to hear how it sounded.
That might actually be the bluetooth speaker causing some delay, i noticed it when i connected my pc to my blootooth speaker with a jack cable. I think they use dsp to throw and equalizer on the sound requiring it to be turned into digital and back into analog again creating latency
I wonder if those foot pedals are compatible with a sewing machine. They may not be hooked up to a stereo jack typically, but it's the first thing that came to mind
I actually had a kid take lessons from me on guitar that had something like this that wanted to play drums so bad he managed to get decent on it, so I had to explain to his folks that he deserved a real kit for managing thru sheer blunt force. They didn't want the noise so I had to explain what an electric drum kit ACTUALLY was, and they got him one. He got good enough on the real electric kit that they finally got him an actual kit of drums and he's like 13 or 14 now absolutely killing it I'm waiting to hire him for a gig lol
Aww! Thank you for informing them of an alternative. Lots of parents can be hesitant to get kids into instruments (assuming they can afford them. Mine couldn't 😂) because of the noise and months or years of listening to the kid playing terribly. The electric kit though gave him the space to make mistakes quietly and they got to enjoy a quieter house. Happy though they didn't just stop there and actually got him a proper kit. Maybe we'll be hearing about this legendary drummer in the future. Thank you for encouraging him to keep progressing 😊

I've actually experienced lag like that when using aux cables with certain Bluetooth speakers. The audio gets routed through the same processor the Bluetooth uses and that adds delay. Might be worth testing
You should try whether the speaker still has latency despite having the physical connection. It might have other features that could cause it (some of those jbl had some sync-several-speakers-wirelessly option for example)
I hope that inbuilt song gets added to the drum-along playlist, it's actually kinda sick. if it's actually a song, can someone plz tell me what it is? kthx
Pretty sure there are some versions of this "roll up drum kit" that actually do work properly and are actually pretty good if you want to get into drumming at a pretty good price.
I bought one from Amazon for about $60 It's perfect for stick precision, but more importantly I can connect it to my laptop and record quick ideas in a DAW and edit them if needed.
Not a cheap option, and doesn't replicate the form of a drumkit, but my partner recently got a Roland handsonic, that in terms of portable versatile electronic percussion is absolute fire.

you really should invite a bunch of drummers over for a bunch of drinks and try to get them to play drum fills with this! also i think the pedals use the standard jacks for accessibility equipment switches.
Pretty sure that the aux in of the sexy speaker still has a delay. Most bluetooth speakers have that because the audio still goes through a DSP in the speaker
Please do actually have them propped up somewhere in the drum museum and get a sample from them Also, when are you gonna show us that crazy banana drum set?!
This is a much professional set of drums, easy to cary, sounds great, easy to cary, sounds great, very professional, easy to cary, very human design, easy to cary, and is the first professional and easy to cary, and sounds great.
The delay comes from the speaker you used. All bluetooth speakers have some kind of processing in them, that produces the delay (regardless of having it hooked up via cable).
Fun fact about the headphone plug on the pedals: That's the standard connection for accessibility devices. Microsoft made a full XBox controller allowing a variety of oversized push buttons, foot pedals, and tongue switches to be plugged in and used by disabled gamers. James could probably do a video about it.
They adopted an even older standard, phones jack foot pedals are completely standard going back to tape dictation machines and all manner of other ancient goodies.
i was noodling on my bass while watching this, and there was a moment where the drum fill accidentally lined up with what i was playing. honestly blew my mind and was very fun

Ong. it's truly horrible.I personally think that drumming or really playing any instrument with that kind of delay would be worse because you tend to rely on timing more.
from the video you did with the duck, I actually suspect the majority of the delay is from the sexy speaker! Though why the speaker would be buffering the audio... that's another question. I feel there is some sexy speaker investigation in order.
As soon as that delay realization hit, I had the worst spittake-laugh possible with a full mouth of chunky protein shake that then proceeded to deposit itself all over my walls and all over everything on my table. Still worth it.
I think the delay could be from the fact they are on a soft surface, i.e. it could be less if you tried placing them on the floor. Great review anyways
