Still wrapping my brain around a few points In this video. The same person who said there was a problem with LGBT people and that homosexuality is a sin also said a few questions later that she had been in orgies (more than once by the plural) with other females. Then in the LGBT section one guy says "God loves the homosexuals and the transgendered" then my question to that person is "then why don't you?" You openly acknowledged your God loves us regardless because he died for us, so why do you hate us? It feels like such constant backstepping when explaining anything in religion, almost exactly like politics since religion and politics have become so intertwined.
You've forgotten the doublethink they use, exemplified by, "Love the sinner, hate the sin." Outright hatred is frowned upon socially so they veil their hatred with "moral concern." And claim that Jesus was against homosexuality (and being transgender by association.) The reality is that Jesus had absolutely nothing to say about homosexuality and little to say about gender. If homosexuality was such a massive sin you'd think the son of freaking God would have something to say about it. And yet total silence on the subject. It's very educational to read the actual bible rather than listen to Christianity's preachers. Jesus in reality promoted asexuality and for Christians to abandon their spouses and families. (His followers at the time as they weren't "Christians" yet.) So every married Christian is going against the express recommendation of the son of God himself. Luke 18:29-30 'I tell you the truth,' Jesus said to them, 'no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God will fail to receive many times as much in this age and, in the age to come, eternal life.'
@Xx BigBoss xX Many religions feel that sex while a female is menstruating is sinful and degenerate. Or anal sex between a male and female. Or even missionary vaginal sex while unclothed. Where is your line? Do you do any of those things? How about we call you a sinful pervert for even looking at another person who isn't you opposite sex spouse. You are the degenerate. You lump in SA and murder with consensual sex between adults. I'd say you are lacking even basic moral sense if you can't differentiate those things. Something wrong with your brain mate.
@Xx BigBoss xX There's several verses expressly allowing and detailing the common courtesies around the owning of slaves. So it makes sense that slavery should be allowed as the master-slave system was clearly designed for each of them to have a purpose together. The Bible also promotes rape, forceful marriage, death sentences for both the rapist AND the woman if she was married, animal sacrifice, and so much more. I don't really give a shit what it has to say about homosexuality.
@Xx BigBoss xX Where did Jesus say *anything* about homosexuality? Please cite the verse. But you can't because it doesn't exist. And in fact, Jesus espoused *abandoning your family,* including spouses and children, to follow him. A great believer in the nuclear family was Jesus.
when I was a christian, I genuinely did not fear death. I almost looked forward to it, given the promise of a new form and easy living. As someone who suffers chronic pain, this was seriously appealing, and without the "suicide sends you to hell anyway" rule, I hate to think of where my thought pattern could've gone. I didn't care about my life on earth until I started deconstructing my faith.
And also think about all of the people who are estranged from their family or people who are dying and don’t reach out to their friends or family or people that they care about because they say they’ll see them on the other side and that’s not necessarily true.
But what’s weird, in my experience, is that some of the MOST religious Christian people I have ever met are the ones MOST scared of death/dying and they will do almost anything to prolong their lives. (Except wear masks.) It’s always confused me as an atheist because I’m like “shouldn’t you be excited to die?”
I had the opposite experience,, I was deathly afraid of going to hell as a kid. When I finally let go of my Christian beliefs, I stopped worrying about death.
As someone raised by evangenlicals, they absolutely say the quiet part out loud when they feel safe. Had both my mother and sister tell me a child born of assault is absolutely "God's plan" and is good, actually. It's disgusting and terrifying to hear so confidently said out loud.
Okay, when a Christian says it is part of Gods plan, they are looking on the bright side. That, instead of dwelling on the horrible thing that happened, we should figure out a way to make it good. In this case, one of those good things is that a new baby has been brought into the world.
@@Abelly-w1sThe problem is that the baby will not be able to live life with a stable family. With it being born of assault, the possibility of the father not being a part of it’s life and the pain that the mom will go through because now she has to take care of her assaulter’s baby, the mom will start to blame the future child on everything bad that has happened in her life and possibly start assaulting the child too either under the guise of a religious obligation to “discipline” them or not. The mom will also probably start to divert from Christianity.
Fun fact: panda porn was developed to try to encourage pandas to reproduce, and lots of animals masturbate (primates and dolphins come to mind). Porn and masturbation aren't unique to humans (although the porn was human design), but we are the only species that has groups that feel shame about them.
All because a religion that had all the power in parts of the world, forced it down everyone's throat. They forced that shame into us until we practically became indoctrinated to believe it that well-constructed lie as a fact. To then do the shaming on their behalf towards each other.
Then again a lot of animals don't have consent. Also a lot of animals have gang wars. But a lot of animals also engage in homosexual acts. Basically, god doesn't exist and if he exists he sure as hell didn't give a fuck about anything. Humans are free to do whatever we want.
I grew up in a Christian community in Germany and I was taught from the beginning to love and respect others. I wasn’t taught about the concepts of hell or sin, just told that good people go to heaven and that you should treat others kindly to be a good person. I am no longer Christian and I am generally very antitheist but it is because of people like this, not because of the community I grew up in. There are Christians who actually care about the Christian values of love, kindness, respect and caring for others. You know, actually following what Jesus taught. It makes me sad and so angry to hear Christians who are this insane. They are evil. Just plain evil.
I got hit by a rock by a "protestor" while getting normal run of the mill birth control pills at a P.P. like I wasn't even pregnant. I get anxiety whenever I need care. I was scared while getting prenatal care while pregnant aka making sure my son was healthy during a rough pregnancy. I was so worried about getting assaulted and having a bad pregnancy outcome.
Yeah. These people don't care that P.P does more than just abortions. They have tunnel vision so bad that they'll hurt other people claiming to "save innocents."
I think a lot of people like this are also vehemently against birth control because it helps people avoid the consequences of their sin. Their belief system is basically just you can't have a good time while living on Earth. And I would be scared in that case because, while you getting birth control would not make them want to murder you, they would probably still want to hurt and verbally abuse you.
Imagine the configuration of neurons that have to fire for someone who is pro-fetus to throw a rock at someone they believe is about to get an abortion. Like, if that rock hits her in the wrong place, that fetus dies. Blood is then on your hands, and not on the person who you think is getting an abortion. But i guess these scumbags are brainwashed into thinking that planned parenthood is exclusively for abortions and that all patients there cannot even be talked out of getting an abortion. (i don't think anyone should be talked out of a decision that they feel is best for themselves, but the existence of crisis pregnancy centers relies on the belief that pregnant people can and should be convinced to not get an abortion)
My girlfriend saw a sticker on a car that says "kill your local pedophile" and didn't realize it was anti trans, and started laughing and pointed it out to me. I was just like "that doesn't mean what you think it means," and explained it to her.
Yeah. That's basically a dogwhistle at this point. It seems innocuous if you aren't in the know but when you see someone called a pedo and groomer just because they exist as trans or queer it's clear what they mean.
@@Stargazer_Ley 100% agree. I hadn't even seen that before, but after being called both a groomer and pedo just for being trans, i understood what it meant. That, and the escalation of anti-trans rhetoric recently

I still don't think they were being honest about the LGBT question. They're still couching their responses in, "Well, God says this and blah blah blah sin." The honest response would be, "I just fucking hate them."
I'm pretty sure there's some science about how dogmatic people's brains are more compartmentalized, meaning that they might literally be unable to be honest since in their brain, the hatred is assigned to "god" rather than themselves.
If they were honest they would say: "Because I am an inbred demon mongrel put upon this earth to masquerade as a follower of God and injure mankind in any way I am able to by the devil himself. This should be obvious to you by the fact that our version of "christianity" explicitly includes (beyond all the other heinous savageries) wanting to bring about the reign of the antichrist and the biblical apocalypse. You could have stopped us a thousand times, most notably in 1865, but you always let us off scot-free because you fools mistake us for fellow humans. And for that mistake we will devile, butcher and devour you all when we finally take over. Yee-haw!"
Anyone with traditional christian parents will know this fact, being around my mom she says this all the time, directly. While trying to hide it behind a facade of "care".
I don't think that would be fair to Christians in general. But if you just meant a couple of these people... Yeah, they seemed terrible enough for that.
They never want to own up to it because people would disavow them lmao. To them showing outright hatred is what God frowns down upon so you have to hide it and pretend you "care" to not go to fiery hell for eternity.

When I brought up the fact that people exactly like her, who believed exactly the same things she believed, murdered Dr. Tiller, and so the whole concept of "pro-life" is a sham, she looked at me incredulously as though the idea that Dr. Tiller also had a right to life was absurd and offensive. What I was taught was that queerness was a sin but it was no different from other sins like lying or adultery and whatever else, and that EVERYONE (Christians included) are sinners to some degree. However I could never figure out where the harm came from with being gay or trans or whatever, where harm IS usually caused by other "sins". Also it struck me that Christians always made a much bigger stink about queerness than other sins. Thank God I'm not a fundie anymore, it's such a toxic, hateful ideology.

As a child who is the product of rape, to all people who have a uterus. Do not feel guilty for having an abortion. My Mother should not have had me. This is not a “Oh I wish I was never born” thing. I’m here now and it’s too late to take it back. However, my Mother, who suffered from BPD all her life though sadly was only recently diagnosed, who suffered the effects of generational trauma and abuse, due in no small part to colonization, and on top of all that was made to keep and care for her rapists baby while he continued to abuse and threaten to kill her after the fact, WAS NOT ABLE TO CARE FOR THAT CHILD. It was made abundantly clear through my childhood that my presence, my very EXISTENCE was resented and I was punished for it. I now know that it wasn’t my fault but as a child I was convinced that I was a repulsive and vile thing that should just die. Thankfully, I didn’t. Sadly, I am not the only person I know of who went through something like this and some of them didn’t make it and/or continued the cycle. Never feel guilty for breaking the cycle. Maybe there are people who are the product of rape who grew up surrounded by love and are living fulfilling lives. Good for them. Unfortunately, I do not personally know any.
Yeah. You can't complain or feel bad about never being born... if you were never born. Your birth resulted in a lot of problems for your mother and yourself. You lived through an abusive childhood no person should ever go through, and a woman had to raise a child against their will and without being prepared, on top of dealing with a rapist. If abortion took place, there would be less suffering, both for your mother, and for a potential child who never existed. And since that child would've never existed, they wouldn't have had the ability do be sad about it. With that said, you're now alive and you shouldn't want to go back. I hope you can heal from your trauma and live a good life.
My cousin has a similar story. She was very young, and her ex boyfriend accidentally got her pregnant. She ended up getting an abortion, and he cheated on her. Now, she has a new boyfriend, and is way happier.
While I am sympathetic to this whole story, it is very sad and genuinely things are wrong with the world, I don't see why you had to bring up colonization. Colonization was something that happened hundreds of years ago, it should not affect your current life in the slightest, because colonization is a thing of the past. I get that it might be hard to find things to blame, but it isn't because of colonization, it's because of the inherently bad parts of humanity. The issues that every human has but deal with differently. I'm not saying by any means that you are a bad person or a liar in any capacity, and your story is very valid and the result of a person's desire to force themselves on your mother.
The whole “if you’re not Christian you’re going to hell” part is what started my long road of divestment from religion, at least of the organized kind. I straight up have never been able to rectify the idea in my mind that no matter how good, and gracious, and kind you are as a human on Earth if you don’t believe in Jesus you’re going to be punished for eternity. As life went on other things were added to the pot of me leaving organized religion, but that was the first thing I can remember being extremely uncomfortable with.

In my philosophy class, I was assigned abortion as a topic of examination with a group, and my part regarded religious arguments. When presenting it, I wrote down various bible verses in two columns. The first I labeled "pro-life" and gave all of the verses that could be suggestive of pro-life sentiment, and explained how they were all very vague. Then I said that there were no pro-choice arguments in The Bible, because, well, women are property and all of that, but I then labeled the other column "pro-abortion" and listed the various situations in which god explicitly condones or orders abortions and infanticide. The Bible is very obviously not against abortion as a general rule. It is a myth of the do's and don'ts of being alive in Israel 4,000 - 1,700 years ago (old and new testament). In being that that is the thematic limits of what the book can be, it accepts infanticide and abortion as non-rare occasions that you may have to deal with.
Even if you weren’t raised as a Christian, if you were raised in the United States, and aren’t very actively part of a different religion (non Abrahamic ones), you’ve definitely picked up the cultural references. My kids have not been raised in religion. My 16 year old is an atheist. He’s never participated in any religion, even paganism, or any of the things that I’ve ever practiced. And he still fully knows what the Christian hell is supposedly about.
Yeah. But you can do a lot of work to inoculate your kids against religion. A number of years ago was having a walk at a cemetery with my mom and then 6 year old son. She was horrified (even as a staunch atheist) when my son asked what all the stone swords in the ground were. They were all the crosses. My mom felt it was my job as a parent to explain religion and Christianity to my son. I always felt it was more important to discuss critical thinking and when he eventually learned about religion he'd have the tools to analyze and understand it in context. It sparked a discussion of what humans "naturally" believe. She felt that a belief in the afterlife was inborn. I disagreed. So asked my son, "What happens when a person dies?" His answer was nothing. I pushed and asked, "What happens *after* a person dies?" He ponders deeply for a minute and answers, "If they are standing up, they fall down. If they are laying down then nothing." From the mouths of babes. lol

They weaponize disabled children in the abortion debate too and it always angers me as someone disabled from birth. A large issue in our community is parents who decide to unalive their children who are disabled after they are born. There's a day of remembrance dedicated to that. Yet, every time it's talked about in headlines it's excused by many of these same people b/c of ableism and a eugenics based mentality. "The parents have it so hard." American society penalizes you when you're disabled in so many ways. There's no real infrastructure to support disabled people or their families. Finding resources is damn near impossible. Funding for programs esp. in red states like I live in is always being cut. There's no functioning public transit which would enable those of us who could to get a job. Finding someone to teach driving with hand controls is another obstacle I'm experiencing currently. I have a college degree, but I can't use it. I'm stuck on SSI b/c the structure to support isn't there. You're demonized by the right esp. for using SSI to survive as well. Is it any wonder that many people may see aborting their disabled child as an option?
There needs to be more care for those lesser than us, however the solution to those needs should not be to rid of our unabled offspring, The problem is the education system with its methods of developing disabled into functioning members of society, they are seen as dogs to a teacher, unworthy to be taught anything important to there lives alongside the disgust of there peers and people whom are considered there EA's and TA's, teachers. Work is a also an issue since companies get away with lowering their wage (as done with foreigners) and to top it off the system is now telling you that the way out of this hopeless situation is to end your very existence. This is terrible but the solution isnt to purge the disabled because the living quality of the lesser is tragic, the solution is to fight the very system that has ensnared you in its grasps and free you and your brothers.
Traditional Christians like to deal with absolutes. I see this around my family memebers all the time. Literally having a conversation where my stepfather insisted everything was yes or no in the bible, and got amgry when I suggested a grey area.
Traditionalism is a grey zone for me tbh, i believe that there is a need for Traditional values however that does not mean i should disregard technology but i dont think we should progress social norms and what we deem as morally right over progressivism, thats kind of where im a centrist on the topic, i am curious of what grey zones you mentioned with your step father if you wouldnt mind discussing it.
Pretty much the same with any historical figure whom ever walked the earth and its based off of eyewitness. Its really strange how if I where'd to deny christopher Columbus's existence because of a lack of empirical evidence (his existence is based on eyewitness and what he wrote) that i would be a pseudo intellectual, however if i claimed christ existed because of eyewitness and the words he said written down by the apostles that i would be deemed as inaccurate and factually wrong. Science is based on theories and religion is based on belief, inwhich both require faith. Prove to me we arent just living in one big fever dream.
That one lady talking about her husband. Like how entitled do you have to be to say, “you should go through something bad so I can have something good”. Like wtf lady?
Every time I am told about a husband who wasn't planned I am reminded of the murderers who would've been aborted if the patents had had the opportunity. This goes both ways, almost like, bodily autonomy is just best to respect because this argument I is literally just an attempt at emotional manipulation.
@@ExtraordinaryFate they can't know, that's the point, some children will grow up to have positive impacts on those around them, some will grow up to have negative impacts on those around them, and most will have a mixed impact. This is the reality any time a child is born and grows up, so focusing on a specific person who was born and intended to be aborted is just as meaningless as saying that a serial killer was intended to be aborted, because we can't see the future and shouldnt be putting the potential for a happy marriage over a person's bodily autonomy since that potential is literally an unquantifiable claim anyways.
I think all people who call abortion murder should go talk to the ladies at their local residential home and listen to the stories of the ways theyve murdered their newborn babies because they didnt have access to getting an abortion If people can't get access to that basic healthcare they are going to find other ways to solve their problem, and its not always going to be giving them to adoption
Knowing pro-lifers, that's not going to work on them. They'll just respond with, "Oh, these women couldn't m_ urder their babies earlier, so they m_ urdered them later! Is that what you're saying!? You people are sick and just want the freedom to m_ urder!" These people really do think that flushing out a zygote or removing an embryo is the same as straight-up k_ illing a fully fledged infant child who can cry and experience fear as well as pain. You can't reason with them.
Not to mention the times that God was actively doing something terrible, not just sitting by and letting it happen. Like the flood. There were definitely children and babies that died in that flood
Being someone who was abused as a kid and as an adult, the person who conflated her molester with gay people is really fucking gross and when she said that I instantly lost any respect I had for her. I was r*ped for a period of time as a child, when I was around 6, and experienced other forms of sexual violence growing up like unwanted exposure, creepy comments from older men since the age of like 11 up until now as an adult, attempted grooming, attempted kidnapping, etc, but fortunately nothing as severe as what I went through as a kid, and I've had a recent sexual assault against me as an adult too. I am also bisexual. I know so many LGBT people, a few of which were also sexually abused in childhood. Comparing us to the people who ruined our lives is immeasurably vile. Simply having an attraction for the same sex, and engaging in relations with the same sex, is not the same as irreparably destroying someone else's life. Even if you wanna argue "you'll go to hell for it" , at least both parties are *consenting.* They make that choice together. But experiencing r*pe, by anyone, at any age, is a pain that is indescribable. Honestly can't believe there's people in this world who think I am morally simular to a child predator because I like women and men.
"They had no idea what hell was like and they described it just as it's described in the bibble!" We all have seen media before. There's almost zero chance that they wouldn't have seen any media that hasn't described hell to them before, either directly or through context. It's everywhere.
(Content warning, organized childhood sexual abuse) I wasn’t rape baby, but I was a baby who got raped. If I had gotten prevent (yes it went on that long into my life) I would have wanted an abortion. Even if some time traveling Christian said they wanted their husband or whatever. Fact of the matter is, if looking your adult husband in the eyes and shooting him dead saved me from that, I’d do it. Luckily I’m AMAB, so I didn’t have to worry about that. Literally the only reason I’m ok with being AMAB. I’m trans, and Ace.
i think i misheard the woman talking about molesters and thought she was equating them as well as conure did, but i think she's saying "why are we worried about gay people's sins *more than* child molesters" when there's molesters out not getting half of the condemnation given to gay people. basically she's saying they're not equatable, and there should be focus on things like molestation that hurt victims instead of other people's personal sex lives.
Stop taking things out of context. She only said that sin is sin and will lead to your downfall in hell no matter how good or bad the world makes it seems

I’m a Pansexual (i go by any pronouns)14 year old and i’ve known i was queer since i was 9 years old. I’ve grown up in a heavily christian household (Hell i just got back from Church) and i don’t believe in any of it anymore. I don’t believe in anything they believe in, so i’ve labeled myself as atheist. At 9, i had came out on a game as bisexual because i’ve had crushes on both the Female and Male Sex (i was still learning about genders at this time). My parents told me i was “confused” and i would “grow out of it”. After that, they took all my internet access (outside of school work) from me for a year. Of course that didn’t change anything. Christians hide behind that damn book to hate on others and it pisses me off. The bible itself says that you should love thy neighbor, yet they would rather use the damn “Man shall not lay with boy” (WHICH IS TALKING AGAINST PEDOS‼️‼️‼️‼️ MAN IS ADILT AND BOY IS A KID) to hate QUEER people. I would rather kms then go back to christianity and deal with these people. i’ve had fights with my family over the right to abortion, the right to gay marriage, and immigration. Stay brave. Your life matters. It's okay if you don't yet have the tools to make the changes you want to see in the world. Your time will come. Every day you draw breath is an act of defiance against those that would eradicate us. Also, please find professional help for your ideations, if you can.
Tell your parents you want to see a therapist. I think a professional is very likely to validate your thoughts. You gotta be careful though, because parents like that tend to seek "professionals" with the same opinions as them. Try out a couple. A sane adult will absolutely make you feel seen. There's always hotlines you can call, as well. ❤
"I've seen people delivered by god who no longer identify as homosexual." Did we not premise this discussion with the established understanding that Christians are dishonest?
Point of order: in Christian fundamentalism, you don't atone for your sins lest Satan torture you. That's just the pop culture version. Rather, you have to submit to the Real True Christian ideology (or, accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, as they would put it), lest Jesus toss you into the torture chamber that he created.
Exactly! Satan isn't grabbing souls. It's the Christian God who is *choosing* to send souls to Hell. The God that is supposed to be omnibenevolent and a father figure. As a parent, how would people expect my kid to treat me if after making a mistake I *tortured him for eternity?* I don't believe in any Gods, but if the Christian/Jewish/Muslim God were real, I still wouldn't worship them. A hideous concept for an all powerful being.
Why does this god decide to even let us have a 'life'? should we not just all be in heaven... Or does he have to screen all of his applicants? If he is in fact all powerful, he would already know who should be let in? Seems like this god is pretty good at hiding his own deficiencies
@@AwkwardPain Yeah that's getting into the problem of evil, there. But you're basically right. The reason you run a test is to determine an uncertain outcome. If he's omnipotent and omniscient, he already knows the outcome, so the test is just cruelty.
@@AwkwardPain Also if God is the creator of everything he created our "souls". So HE created evil people/sinners just to punish them being sinners. Knowing well in advance that they would sin because he created them that way.
There's a lot of issues, abuses, generational trauma etc that led to my estrangement from my family/mother especially. But one of the big foundational parts of that is her entire attitude towards pregnancy and child bearing. See I'm the oldest by a lot. Also a "girl" (non binary but not like she'd ever recognize that. Until she forgot she was terf towards me and constantly throwing out my binders, arguing about genitals and how trans people are just crossdressers. Cause when I was 22 she decided that being pro trans was the good respectable liberal position so it must be the position she's always had and had the absolute nerve to talk down to me about misgendering my partner and how much better she is. Cause i has just been treating us both as binary and cis for ease and safety but accidentally slipped and had to admit they're non binary too and my mom I guess just assumed i was being hateful and transphobic but look at how easily she switches names and pronouns once she actually knows. Bleh). Anyway since I was like 6 my mom kept trauma dumping on me and making it my responsibility I was born to help her heal and mature and find her purpose in life. Part of that included constantly telling me how bad abortion is because if she had any sense of responsibility or self preservation she would have aborted me but look how great she was for being willing to risk her life to have me (and later the twins/her kid 4 and 5) and isn't that just so wonderful of her? She also kept going on and on about how a few months before she became pregnant with me someone broke into her house and raped her and she was super depressed because she didn't get pregnant from that and it would have "made it worth it" but she was considered infertile so it "felt like a waste of an experience" (at 15 she has an ovary removed and it damaged her uterus. Very bad ovarian cyst) Then you know she got super into drugs and tried to join the army and got into a big party unsafe sex lifestyle. Ended up pregnant with me by the pizza guy before the army could approve her, and then it became all on me to help her get her life together, raise her kids, give her purpose, and make it worth her effort and emotional issues to have kids. All underpinned by this narrative that because she didn't believe doctors and kept praying and is super trusting of God that he restored her fertility and gave her a chance to be a parent since he just knows she's meant for it and would truly appreciate being a parent. (Didn't mean she would ever choose her children over the guy she was fuckin tho. Not even when she knew him for less than a year before he started breaking bones of her kids or anything lol) Just so much about how selfless, self sacrificing, and other Christian/Autism Mom ways of framing their narcassitic Martyr Mommy complex. And let me remind you, i was less than 10 before she, self proclaimed most liberal person in all of existence, was telling me how she saw pregnancy from rape as a "gift from god". Sure she didn't know i has been molested by multiple family members around that age (including my very anti-abortion and very pro fascism/extremely conservative, to be polite, father) . Or how her mindset she really felt the need to share to children would cause massive damage to me long term. She lives in Oklahoma so she really doesn't see how flirting with fundamentalism and the like disqualified her from being all that leftist or even liberal especially in practical everyday ways of family relationships, cultural mindsets, and multicultural influences. She likes to vote democrat and not be seen as a heartless republican and is moderately pro union (tho before she joined in on the trencher strikes she would go on and on about how bad and immoral it is for teachers or other necessary professions to go on strike and thua disrupt the status quo/daily lives. Entirely missing the point of strikes and unions and making everyone recognize the value of your Kabir and how much things get messed up without it. Bleh) so she must be the most leftist person to ever leftist (other than me the "loony left" antifa anarcha feminist with true anti capitalist tendencies. But obviously I'm not be taken seriously and don't have any true understanding of politics or the real world. Despite living independently and with very little contact for over 15 years and with no major struggle in finding people with similar ideologies and values to myself). It's just a huge headache to deal with a self described feminist and Uber liberal TYT justice democrat squad fan that also routinely goes on about how the ones who get pregnant from rape are actually the lucky ones and just don't realize it/are often ungrateful for God making a terrible situation "have a silver lining" and how ungrateful and cruel it is to abort because of rape (or really for any reason at all. Again as an Uber liberal in public she likes to talk up being very pro choice, anti slut shaming, pro consent, pro sex Ed, etc. "But on a personal level here's what I really think" in private. Like bruh. Her husband had a job with at&t so super cheap home security network. Once i got my period she demanded all of the cameras and door sensors be concentrated on my room to keep me locked up and CONSTANTLY under watch until i agree to her preferred hormone based birth control because she "knows how teens are". Again I'm trans masc/had serious issues with injecting more female hormones against my will that she refused to listen to at all. I also was not willing to have sex until at least 6 months from legal adulthood for intellectual reasons. And am generally asexual and kinda "lesbian"/not interested in men in general. But you know fuck actually having open and honest discussions with your own child about their own needs, concerns, sense of "readiness" values or concerns. If she was having sex all the time with all the random men by age 15, i must be exactly the same because how could I possibly be my own person with my desires, sexuality, gender, needs, temperament, traumas, preferences etc. This was an extension of banning all boys, including cousins, from sleeping over because she just knew there would be sex cause that's how "teens are". I was 8 when that ban kicked in. Then acting victimized that i didn't tell her I was into girls thus risking isolating myself even more/losing the little safety having witnesses over provided. Because how dare i imply she isn't liberal/safe enough to "come out" to and no she will not be accepting any kind of perspective that frames her as being at all sex negative, controlling, misogynistic, or slut shaming in general. She's just "being a good parent" and "doesn't deserve" to be mistrusted like that) It's just a nightmare growing up with people who I truly feel were indoctrinated into that mindset. And it's a special kind of trauma
I only commented this cause i thought it was a funny observation and didnt expect people to actually get mad at her over it. CONURE YOU ROCK KEEP UP LE EPIC WORK
They're lying to themselves about not being scared of dying. Even Jesus prayed for god to spare him (Mt 26:39 - My Father! If it is possible, let this cup pass from Me. Yet not as I will, but as You will.) and those people pretend like they're so confident and they're fine, because they'll go to heaven. I don't get why religious people don't want to admit that they don't know for sure that their religion is true. If their gods required full conviction rather than faith, they would show themselves, but obviously if they're real, they don't want you to know, just to believe.
Not at all. Some people have few if any doubts. Christ was a wise and introspective man. He also knew he was going to die and painfully so, he had every reason for fear, suffering and despair. Some modern Christians might not they are at peace with death as a concept and they don't know they're imminently going to be tortured to death by Romans like christ did. I'm a Christian and I probably do fear death but that's because amongst other things I'm less prone to unthinking zealotry than some but also because I really like the world and I would not want to lose it all so soon. I want to make it better before my time is done. I assume the same is true for you yes?
@@seekingabsolution1907 Christians are often scolded for doubt & I've heard plenty of pastors call doubt a sin. I don't know if Jesus was wise. I do know he was written as such. Anyway, I'd recommend Mythvision for a look at what scholars are saying.
"The way it was described in the bible" You mean just like one big firepit where you literally just vanish and disappear? Or do they mean the REINTERPRATION described in Dantes Inferno? Because there IS a distinction and this whole different levels thing is new and nowhere in the original. It's always telling that they don't even know their own religion, they'd be horrified if they ever read it.
Gehenna was, back then the valley where they burned their garbage. Hell is by that definition your nearby landfill that gets set ablaze constantly by the locals.
Describing hell like it's described in the bible, eh? I'm gonna need a chapter and verse on that one. I seriously doubt someone comes back from a near death experience talking about how they saw worms that just wouldn't die.
If being gay is sin, then why does God let them be when they're omniscient? So he creates people who are pre determined to go to hell? Doesn't that mean we have no free will?
I used to be a Christian but ever since a couple of years ago I broke away and becames somewhat agnostic. I tried to be devout in my beliefs but over time I began to realize just how much my own values deviated from many of the values seen in the Bible and the Christians I was surrounded by. I guess my disbelief truly started when I was in high school and a good friend of mine and many others who was in the marching band in my instrument section died of a sudden heart event. It devastated multiple people especially a friend I knew who was in love with him. During a marching band practice one of my Christian friends whispers to me that he would likely go to hell since he was an atheist and it disgusted. He was a good person, undeserving of such a fate and I hated how he even brought that up, especially so soon after the event. Through much introspection I started deviating from the religion realizing just how much I truly despised some of its messages culminating when I realized that many of God’s actions reminds me of a narcissistic, abusive father. I then broke off quietly not telling my family and felt free, like I could finally think about different situations my own way and accept the happiness of others without feeling Gods eyes on me. It’s nice
when i was a kid my parents would tell me about how great heaven would be, and that "dying for jesus" is the best thing you could do and youd end up with a lot of rewards in heaven. that ended with me attempting sue icid3 at age 6 , , , death cult seems accurate
Except Christians on average have less depression, less suicide rates, more charity work, more positive behavior etc. And isn’t Christianity the backbone of modern society? Atheism is just a bad excuse for not wanting to abide by any rules
@@dynamicworlds1 Nah theres been cases of people unafilliated with religion having these experiences during NDEs. Usually some variation of a bright tunnel of light.
literally i grew up in a fundamentalists christian family and one of the biggest reasons i couldn't believe anymore was because i read the whole old testament. however, i also read the entirety of the new testament and found out that Jesus was actually a super accepting, chill, anticapitalist that drank and hung out with outcasts from society. Christianity is literally supposed to be all about Jesus and the new testament. what i learned from reading the bible and comparing it to the "christians" i was around at the time, was that there was a huge disconnect from actual scripture and what those people thought about the world as a whole. if you're an actual christian, you're likely an anarcho communist, or at least some flavor of welcoming leftist, at heart. it shouldn't matter what your beliefs are or what youre interpretation of the scripture is. there's so many fantastic philosophical lessons and beautifully worded parables in the new testament that it makes me physically nauseous to know that conservatives have distorted and maliciously misrepresented the stories of such a compassionate man for the sole reason of belittling others and inciting violence against their fellow humans. Jesus literally *kissed* judas right after he betrayed him, for gods sake. like bro you cant handle people just existing, while the man you claim to worship was out here overtly showing affection to the person who sentenced him to death! LIKE WHAT?!
Boy how old are you? I am really impressed. You've literally dissected some of the most important political aspects of the so-called conservative agenda in just a few minutes. Keep going please!
Fun fact: the different terminology used by people with different ideologies isn't just semantics. It's sociolinguistics. I don't know if the exclusion of "people" directly says they don't see us as people, that's a bit hard to show for any individual speaker (and questions like that are more fitting to critical discourse analysis which I know almost nothing about), but it tells you what speech community they get their info on trans people from and that's why it's a good indication of what they think of us.
@R Berger Yes, "us" as in trans people because both I and conure (as well as a lot of likely readers of the comment) are part of that community, and "they" as in people who fight against queer equality. Or should I not acknowledge my belonging in one of the groups in question so as not to be tribalistic? Or should I name the groups rather than use pronouns despite it being obvious who's being talked about? Sure, "us versus them" is a common phrase to describe tribalism, but not every use of those words in the same paragraph is tribalism. Also I made no direct comments on what word choices say about ideology, in fact I said it can only be a good indication, not a direct expression. Also a weird choice to call me a pervert based on... what exactly?
My bigoted mom literally tried to relate to my lesbian experience with "I understand how you feel. I wanted to cheat on my husband, your dad, with that one guy." 🤨
Understanding how kind some Christians are just goes to show that it’s so culty that well meaning people are just pulled into it. My mother is friends with a pastor, she’s kinda Christian and is apart of a deaf Christian group, and one time, a few years back, I was super stressed while at the camp, and he sat down with me and prayed. But you know what’s better? They just **dont care** if you’re gay, they just say don’t marry a woman or man if they aren’t Christian. Which honestly isn’t that bad, atleast to me… but their book, they have a book. In the very back of the church and at one of the last pages it reads “what does god think about abortion?” And it said “abortion is wrong blah blah blah something something bible verse.” Says the step by step instructors
You make an interesting point early on regarding the semantics with using the word people. Generally you're pretty spot on... they separate the sexuality (or gender) from the person despite that being a major component in everyone's identity all while in the process of ignoring how their sexuality plays a role in their own identity. Probably on the assumption that 'it's a choice'.
My Christian mother was sexual abused as a child and knew that comprehensive sex education is a vital part of prevention of sexual abuse n. At age 4 she already told me what bodyparts people have and that nobody is allowed to touch my private part and if I was pressured into anything, I should tell someone. Not only does this prevent abuse as a child, but as an adult you don't easily fall prey for abuse by other people. It is very rare in Christian household that this kind of education happens, but luckily I had a wise mother and gave us what she wished from her own parents. I think it is so disgusting that other Christians think this is wrong. Even though they are eager to point the finger, they do nothing to prevent abuse. No child will get harmed by comprehensive sex ed, but they will have healthy sex lives as adults + preventing abuse. Also reduces unwanted pregnancies and therefore abortions. Many Christians have no idea what they are talking about and where they actually stands for.
As an ex-Jehovah's Witness, doomsday cult, I also didn't care about the planet, politics, or living because I was miserable and everything EVERYTHING you did was only for God all the time. This life didn't matter, you sacrificed everything in your life now for the promised future to be given to you by God. Basically, they gaslight you into wasting your whole life away for the religion by making you think the misery you're experiencing (at their hands) is temporary, and making you believe you're happy to do it. It's disgusting, and makes me sad for my still believing family wasting their lives serving some rich men to get richer.
When I was a Christian I lived in fear thinking that anytime I did anything like self pleasure or even dancing in my room God would be looking at me and judging me. We did not believe in hell, but we believe in something similar to it, and I always tought that because I had passive suicidal thoughts I was going to that place to suffer, the last time I prayed to God I had a nightmare and after that I gave up on Christianity, I felt bad everytime I was in contact with it. After I left Christianity I started practicing witchcraft and studying paganism, I felt much more free and started leaving that guilt behind, I still had a lot of it and felt ashamed for doing "embarrassing things" like having fun. This year I found religious Satanism (no Satanism is not built on Christianity because Satan has been a figure and an entity in various religions trough the time and so have demons) and I was able to fully abandon my guilt, I realized Satan was not worried about what I did in my room or if I pleasured myself, actually it was better that I pleasured myself and did things that made me happy because that's what Satanism was all about. I'm much happier now as an ex Christian and a religious Satanist, I'm not obssesed with religion anymore, I do not pray everyday or things like that, I just light my candles, thank him and sometimes do oferrings Yes religion can help you but it can also destroy you
That's a dangerous obsession, and it sounds like you take religion way too seriously. It was never meant to take over someone's life, it's meant to be guidance for people.
Dancing in your room? You don't even need to be alone to dance. Dancing is an ancient tradition with its own significance in the old testament. Never be ashamed to dance.
You didn't choose the right path. You chose the wicked pleasurable path. Also you shouldn't be scared for having fun like dancing (unless it's extremely suggestive of course) but self pleasure should be something you get un-addicted from. We're all gonna make it.
No you're not happy worshipping Satan. You're just living a pleasurable life. True long-term happiness is derived from commitment and trials of life. I see what you're doing as a common characteristic with the LGTV people. They live pleasurable and comfortable lives ignoring the voices in the back of their head saying to stop.
Even with this, you can't guarantee they're being honest, because they'll still be thinking about what the producers and other interviewees will think of them. I looked forward to a simple, relaxed moving out process, now I need a rushed move out once I finish college early 2023. People like this are the reason queer people gameend themselves, because they're isolated and demonized. My own father barely talks to me anymore. Gotta love it.
I’m so sorry. Few things hurt my heart more than kids not feeling safe with their own parents. Kids do not ask to be born. My kid didn’t even come out to me. Tbh I always figured they would be lesbian but that’s neither here nor there, there was no need to come out as they knew that I just accepted them for who they are and that’s that. Especially trans as things feel very unfriendly right now. While it may not involve a whole discussion or anything, they’ve said that it makes them feel good to know that there’s a mom in the group who is accepting. Who they don’t have to wonder about, especially when many of them don’t know how their own parents would feel, and some of them DO know and it’s not good.
Hi, queer atheist kid in a christian family here.
@Xx BigBoss xX "Porn" is older than Christianity and will exist long after it ceases to.
when I was a christian, I genuinely did not fear death.

It's mostly about using righteous fear as a tactic to make your children obey your word that churns people out like this.

Typical conservatives ☕
oh yes they "care about children" :(
Imagine the configuration of neurons that have to fire for someone who is pro-fetus to throw a rock at someone they believe is about to get an abortion.

Thank you for telling your story ❤️

I think in a society where child mortality is an accepted part of life, it's probably hard to act as though personhood starts at conception.

His answer was nothing. I pushed and asked, "What happens *after* a person dies?" He ponders deeply for a minute and answers, "If they are standing up, they fall down. You’re right. A lot of Christians that I met in my life still believe its located underneath the Earth but its a real ass valley called Gehenna or The Valley of Hinnom in Jerusalem LMAO. I’ve seen an article trying to deny this when Jesus has mentioned the fucking place 11 times in the bible, here are some examples:
It is better for you to enter into life maimed, than having two hands, to go to Gehenna into the fire that shall never be quenched (Mark 9:43).
Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into Gehenna (Luke 12:5).
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, to make him twice as much a son of Gehenna as yourselves (Matthew 23:15).
It’s pretty clear he means it as hell. It used to be a place where the people who believed in the false god Molek i think, did child sacrifices. He mentions Gehenna as a place of final judgement for sinners, separated from God.

Not so Fun Fact: Homosexuality is only a sin because of mistranslation. When the books of the old testament were translated from Hebrew to Greek, there was an issue caused by the fact that Greek (at the time) didn't have a word to differentiate male from boy (male was how the Greeks referred to boys). So when it was translated into Latin (a language that _did_ have a different word for boy), male became man, and this translation was carried over to all later versions until theologians looked into the original Hebrew versions of the texts.
Another ambiguously fun fact: there is no condemnation of female homosexuality in the Bible.
My mom says homosexuality is a sin because of the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. Not this scripture. What do you think about it?

They weaponize disabled children in the abortion debate too and it always angers me as someone disabled from birth. A large issue in our community is parents who decide to unalive their children who are disabled after they are born. There's a day of remembrance dedicated to that. Yet, every time it's talked about in headlines it's excused by many of these same people b/c of ableism and a eugenics based mentality. "The parents have it so hard."
American society penalizes you when you're disabled in so many ways.
There needs to be more care for those lesser than us, however the solution to those needs should not be to rid of our unabled offspring,
The problem is the education system with its methods of developing disabled into functioning members of society, they are seen as dogs to a teacher, unworthy to be taught anything important to there lives alongside the disgust of there peers and people whom are considered there EA's and TA's, teachers.

Every time I am told about a husband who wasn't planned I am reminded of the murderers who would've been aborted if the patents had had the opportunity. How is someone supposed to know their child will become a murderer?
@@ExtraordinaryFate they can't know, that's the point, some children will grow up to have positive impacts on those around them, some will grow up to have negative impacts on those around them, and most will have a mixed impact. This is the reality any time a child is born and grows up, so focusing on a specific person who was born and intended to be aborted is just as meaningless as saying that a serial killer was intended to be aborted, because we can't see the future and shouldnt be putting the potential for a happy marriage over a person's bodily autonomy since that potential is literally an unquantifiable claim anyways.
I think all people who call abortion murder should go talk to the ladies at their local residential home and listen to the stories of the ways theyve murdered their newborn babies because they didnt have access to getting an abortion

Very bad ovarian cyst)
Then you know she got super into drugs and tried to join the army and got into a big party unsafe sex lifestyle.
Not even when she knew him for less than a year before he started breaking bones of her kids or anything lol)
Just so much about how selfless, self sacrificing, and other Christian/Autism Mom ways of framing their narcassitic Martyr Mommy complex.
She's just "being a good parent" and "doesn't deserve" to be mistrusted like that)
It's just a nightmare growing up with people who I truly feel were indoctrinated into that mindset. And it's a special kind of trauma

It’s nice
when i was a kid my parents would tell me about how great heaven would be, and that "dying for jesus" is the best thing you could do and youd end up with a lot of rewards in heaven. that ended with me attempting sue icid3 at age 6 , , , death cult seems accurate

literally i grew up in a fundamentalists christian family and one of the biggest reasons i couldn't believe anymore was because i read the whole old testament.
however, i also read the entirety of the new testament and found out that Jesus was actually a super accepting, chill, anticapitalist that drank and hung out with outcasts from society.
I dont think theyre a boy but i agree
My bigoted mom literally tried to relate to my lesbian experience with
"I understand how you feel. I wanted to cheat on my husband, your dad, with that one guy."
🤨
Understanding how kind some Christians are just goes to show that it’s so culty that well meaning people are just pulled into it. My mother is friends with a pastor, she’s kinda Christian and is apart of a deaf Christian group, and one time, a few years back, I was super stressed while at the camp, and he sat down with me and prayed.
But you know what’s better? They just **dont care** if you’re gay, they just say don’t marry a woman or man if they aren’t Christian. Which honestly isn’t that bad, atleast to me… but their book, they have a book. In the very back of the church and at one of the last pages it reads “what does god think about abortion?”
And it said “abortion is wrong blah blah blah something something bible verse.”
Says the step by step instructors
You make an interesting point early on regarding the semantics with using the word people. Generally you're pretty spot on... they separate the sexuality (or gender) from the person despite that being a major component in everyone's identity all while in the process of ignoring how their sexuality plays a role in their own identity. Probably on the assumption that 'it's a choice'.
I feel like it's more of an emotion that for some people it's harder to control than others
Here's the thing- alot of Christians are so loud about abortions but not school shootings.
When my preacher called abortion worse than the holocaust that's when I started falling off religion
omg
I'm much happier now as an ex Christian and a religious Satanist, I'm not obssesed with religion anymore, I do not pray everyday or things like that, I just light my candles, thank him and sometimes do oferrings
Yes religion can help you but it can also destroy you
That's a dangerous obsession, and it sounds like you take religion way too seriously.
To us, they're anonymous, but they all live in the same area, and probably got to meet each other when they entered/left the building. They probably attend church together.

21:07 I would like to add on and say, even if you're getting an abortion, it doesn't mean you don't want to be pregnant. If the fetus dies and doctors have to remove it from your body, thats considered, medically, an abortion. If the fetus is ectopic and they remove it, that's considered, medically, an abortion. So many things can go wrong in pregnancy, so even if you were *planning* on having children, there still may come a time where you need to have an abortion as a medical necessity, because without it you'd die.
To these Christians, they think all abortion is a choice. Lets not give them that room of thought. Just because you're having an abortion doesn't mean you don't want to be pregnant.
*Not that getting an abortion when it's not immediately life-threatening isn't valid, of course.
