- Pelican Catch Mode 110 Kayak:
In-depth kayak review and on-water demo of the Catch Mode 110 sit-on-top fishing / angler kayak. My brother Tyler loves his new kayak and we provide as much footage as we can of its performance on swift river water and rapids, slow moving river, and on flat water pond water. Tyler provides a detailed walk-around of all the features, his seat modification and easy fix, and he also can be seen fishing from it in moving water from both sitting positions (normal and elevated) and also standing, and he also shreds a couple class 1-2 rapids in it as well, all while loaded down for 2 days of kayak camping! Hope y’all find this helpful and if so hit that like button and subscribe to the channel and share with others! Thanks so much and happy paddling and fishing!

Here’s what the confluenceoutdoor.com website says:
“Stable:
The tunnel hull offers fantastic stability for a safe and steady ride. It also makes getting in and out of the kayak incredibly easy. There is also plenty of deck space aboard this fishing kayak to prevent you from tripping on gear as you stand up to cast lines and reel in fish.
Comfortable:
The Ergoboost™ seating system is one of our most comfortable fishing chairs. It's adjustable to allow a higher seating position and better field of vision. Plus, it's also outfitted with a comfortable EVA seat pad and convenient under-seat storage.
Safe:
Our unique manufacturing process allows us to include additional flotation inside the hull of our sit-on-tops to meet or surpass ABYC standards. The Catch Mode 110 holds a maximum weight capacity of 375 lb. The kayak's hull design also provides exceptional stability to ensure peace of mind during your ride.
Lightweight:
Our kayaks are made of exceptionally durable high molecular weight polyethylene, requiring fewer materials to be built. Weighing 63 lb, this kayak is lighter than our competitors and easy to transport. At 10'8", you won’t need any help to load this kayak as you head to your preferred fishing spot.”

Finally !!! I have been going back n forth on the catch mode for a couple years now. This video is the best one yet. I am sold Brother ! And Sister lol. I have heard it is slow and clunky, doesnt turn the best, but you surely proved that wrong. Class II Rapids....What?!?! I am 6 ft couple hundred (on a good day) - And you look sooooo comfortable !! This is the kind of kayak I could fish all day, not catch a thing and be completely satisfied ! Thanks again !!!!
@@johnnorman4420 you are so welcome! Glad to help. Let us know what you think if you end up getting it
Hey,thanks for the video. This is the info I have been looking for. Despite the fact I will probably never be in rapids I appreciate knowing that the boat can.
@@Medictrent you’re so welcome! Glad it helped 😊
Great video! I'm 6 foot 1 and was wondering if this kayak would have enough leg room to be comfortable?
Yes should have plenty of room for your legs! My brother in this video is 5’10” and had plenty of room to spare
Hello, I wasn’t sure about catch mode and durability, since it’s not rotomolded. Did the skeg work well and do you think a large dog(Lab) would fit in front of you? How durable is it after being on the river. I was surprised tracking was good as a lot of people didn’t like it. Sure it depends on your paddle skills. Mainly concerned about dog. Thanks for great video Scott 5:40 5:43
@@MAGAScott it held up fine on the river but yeah it’s not really made for tons of whitewater. I think a large dog would fit fine in front of you and you could even remove the front cargo net for more room if needed. This one didn’t have a skeg but it actually tracked pretty good even without the skeg. Hope that helps!
How did Academy handle the skeg? I just got mine and I have the same issue, do I need to return the whole kayak? I already have it registered too. Thanks and very informative video!
@@danielhurtado2975 he ended up just keeping it as is but I would definitely call Academy and ask. Maybe you could order the skeg parts from Pelican and switch it out yourself? Wish I had more info for you! Let me know how it works out 🤞
