    Hello, I have only been using a machine since the beginning of the pandemic. So far a load of masks, envelope pillow cases, and some small repair work on my clothing. I wanted to do a sewing project and didn't have a clue as to what I should do; making this dress will be it. If successful I will make an adjustable (permanent) pattern blueprint so I can have it for future reference whenever I need it. Thank you so much for your tutorial. I subscribed so I can come visit again. ☺ 😁💖

    Your bust measurement is 10 inches, so about 38 to 39 inches around for the bust. How would I adapt that for a 50 inch bust? 13 inches? And arm holes correspondingly? I really like the fabric you used it does a good job of distracting the eyes.

    • @stylemebynancy
      @stylemebynancy  3 года назад +2

      For burst 50 is 50/4 =12.5, 12.5 + 1 inch sewing allowance = 13.5”.
      Fold your fabric into four in a traingular shape, as shown in the video,
      Now place the tape horizontally to mark 13.5 which is the burst circumference and also the burst line of the gown.
      Whats the round armhole ? Is it 13 or 26 ?

    Ma why did you start measuring the length of the dress from 8"?

    • @aoshadon
      @aoshadon 3 года назад +3

      8" is where she would have originally come down for the bust line also the armhole line. Its a straight line so you place the tape at 8 and measure the length you want the dress to be.

    • @stylemebynancy
      @stylemebynancy  2 года назад

      With 2yards, the dress will be really short.
      Exact you want to rock it with a trouser
      But you can get a wider fabric, to achieve same length as mine
