I grew up in Mt. Hope in the same neighborhood as Shadow and used you hear him sing and play his guitar on occasions. What a character he was, and by coincidence one of my teachers in Mt. Hope Secondary was the Mighty Penguin. So in closing, thanks for triggering the great childhood memories (I really needed this during this intense lockdown). I think I'm going to call my Mom now:).
Bajan here who is proud that he knows all sorts of West Indian music. A couple of these tunes I never hear in my life. I just sit down and listen while sweeping up my pride!!!
Greetings from Trinidad and Tobago! Thank you for this amazing spotlight! Some of these brought me back to my childhood and some I had never heard before! Thank you for this amazing exploration into the sounds of my homeland!
I can't describe how it is to sit in Kağıthane, and hear songs from my home ...quite by surprise, i might add. the others i didn't know, but my pores raised with After Sunrise...and hearing Shadow! haha. my thanks to you, and to your guest dj Archive Digital
I'm amazed it took me 25 minutes to hear a steelpan. As a calypso fan, it never occurred to me that T&T would have a musical identity that didn't involve either pan or calypso singers. A lot of this sounds Indian, but sung in English. Awesome stuff, my dude.
You should try Fiji. Because the English were there (And T&T as well) they brought indentured labourers from India with them. There is still a very strong Indian flavour going on.
Long thyme listener first time commenter to yr channel but 4 some reason this one just hit. God bless u 4 this channel and sharing such large tunes with the world...grand pleasure tuning in. Max respect, much love and solidarity from Chicago. All power to the people.
This music sounds quite different from what I expected. What a pleasent surprise. Thanks to the DJ and this channel for showing us music from all over the world. I love it!
I spent a few weeks in Tobago once. Unfortunately all the music I remember was that years Carnival hits blaring outta every car. I seem to recall a lot more songs about drinkin' Puncheon (SP) which was my drink of choice on the islands before I quit the sauce.. Its a very nice island.
Ah man, 30:24 is the sample to Dimitri from Paris' "Outro Lugar." So cool to hear where samples come from French house music I listened to over 10 years ago, haha.
Your channel brings me so much calm and joy. Thank you :) And the guest mixes are a fun way to discover new people. Just listened to this one in its entirety.
Hey Analog, a quick question. Do you ever struggle with copyright on here? I want to stream mixes on RUclips as well (albeit different genres to you), but I'm worried about them getting pulled down. Any tips for a beginner? I love the channel!
Elliot Coen hey! This is a question I get a lot. I don’t really do anything special. Usually non mainstream songs don’t get blocked. Obviously there are some exceptions. What I do before recording the sets is, I check the titles on RUclips Music Policies page. The titles that won’t allow your video gives a warning there. Also recently I record dummy sets before and upload it on youtube without publishing it (unlisted). There you also get notifications if any of the songs get blocked.
@@inansahin6238 even if you don't mention the song name you will still get blocked. The algorithm listens for music and compares it to it's background. I once had a video where music was playing in the background and it still got blocked xD

dude.
Hey, just wondering... where do you find your records?
MrECNN saaaaame
Now I gotta forward this to every Trinidadian I know... Thank MAJ!
The MINUTE I saw music from my country I clicked. We're such a musically diverse culture, thank you for the visibility!!!! This is so wonderful 😭
I'm in awe with your country. So small, yet so musically rich.
Fellow Trini here living in Hawaii, I've clicked so hard on a video. This guy is legit.
Absolutely beautiful music! Cheers from Sevilla, Spain. :)

This, children, is where the term 'Disk Jockey' comes from and this it how radio stations used to work.

Finally getting a chance to check it out. This is super super cool and I'm jealous of these vinyls collection.
These are some ridiculously deep cuts. How did you even encounter these records?
As a trini, I'm infinitely thankful for this video.
This mix will be played tomorrow to my chickens. They love it. Really grateful. 🎋
Do they make better eggs if they listen to music? 😅
How did your chickens like the music?
This mix is BLOWING MY MIND!!!! Perfect morning music!! 😊
Automatic like. My parents from Trinidad. Magical place....I wish I could return now!
Thank you for having me! I had a great time :)
Very nice music collection, and you're hot. That was a double win...
Man, I was hooked after that cover of After Sunrise, what a tune, and then you kept slaying it!

I never knew that "Pastime Paradise" was the predecessor of Coolio's "Gangsta's Paradise" and that Stevie Wonder was the original interpreter.
THANK YOU!!!! I thought I was tripping out and then I recognized the beat. Good on ya.

Perfect vibe for this sunday morning 🌹
This is so good and I'm not just saying that because I'm Trini... ok I kinda am.

Blimey what a set full of lushness, enough to blow away the damp and windy weather here in Brighton U.K. :)
Been listening to your channel since the lockdown started and now seeing music from my country just made this channel that much better!
This is so good! Enjoying listening to this on a Sunday morning with my family.
They seem to like Stevie Wonder a lot in Trinidad and Tobago! Excellent mix (and nice opportunity to catch up on geography... speaking for myself...)
