This is my first time watching a video of yours, I think this channel has a lot of potential. Truly an underrated content. Wish you keep making these videos!

I'm only at 12 mins in, and have never watched the movie, but I feel like I will need to, to get a better understanding. so perhaps I'll leave a few more comments, but the repetitive nature of the scenes to me illustrates the daily life. Perhaps it's also there to illustrate his life before his awakening. The observations that he makes are the moments in life that we attribute meaning to, the ones that leave a lasting impact. They are there in our everyday moments, but are often missed until we look back upon them. A few weeks ago I was on vacation in a large city, and there was a family with a small child. The child discovered a puddle and just kept walking in it and stamping his feet, he kept smiling and looking at his family. That moment brought me back to an earlier version of myself as that small child. Certain things are so universal, that if you are open to it teleport you back to some version of yourself. You might never have left a love lock on a bridge, but you've felt some kind of love either from someone else or towards someone, or can relate to that mental frame and thus if you let it that moment can be experienced, but most of the time we are surrounded by so much noise that we are never able to be as observant of the world around us, until we are able to quiet it, perhaps through self isolation or some form of concentration...

The old man and the sun dial, on opposite ends, to me symbolizes the old man looking down at his life and the time that has past. While the young man is looking at what awaits. The camera going around symbolizes the passage of time, but neither is observant of the now. Both are fixated on something else. I think when we are at a certain age we fear getting old, when we are old we look back upon the time we were young.
Around 16, when he's galloping down the steps, there's a mood of exuberance. Only for him to turn around, take the letter and slow down. It's like when you have such a great idea, or something that you are excited about, and its met with resistance and you go back to feeling down... That push back to the reality of the situation.

Perhaps he was looking at the old man and imagining all of the things that old man had done or seen. He's not sure where his life is going, and thus he's looking at the old man imagining himself in his shoes and looking back at what his life was. So both would be doing the same thing.
