It does produce wear and tear at least in my case. over time about 3 months of use and pretty regularly using the controllers in Bluetooth i noticed a my right controller was pretty loose. and noticed a small shave on the locking mechanism. Then of course i had my first leGo drop a month back and that loose joy-con popped off on its own. The locking device had shaved off a good amount of its head and would still kinda lock into the LeGo but with just a little bit of force not much at all and it would pop off without touching the button on the back. I ended up buying a new controller from the website and were back in business about $70 USD per controller. But yea I also press that button before inserting the controller now just to possibly save wear and tear. But who knows the discord just mentioned something about more accessories coming this summer for the LeGo it would be awesome if they can throw out some new controller types and maybe idk make that little plastic tab metal or something a little more durable.
Its a fair point. The rails on the sides of the tablet are metal, not sure what kind, aluminum or magnesium very likely. The release button/latch on the controller is plastic. Fortunately Lenovo has been very generous with replacing lose and wobbly controllers.
@Leo_DS_ larger screen and controls, I purchased the ally for my wife and I think ally I'd just as amazing ! And more comfortable to hold but legion go is king size! Ally rog can do what LeGo can, but games are more submersible on legion. My opinion. But detaching the controls Stent for me. I even owned a Nintendo switch and I rarely took the controls off. To close, I recommend both ally and legion to console gamers as it is a bridge to pc gaming without sacrifice to a console feel and you have access to massive game libraries if you can navigate windows.
@@Smuuvplays Yeah. I also like the screen on the LeGo, and to me personally the controls and grips of the Legion are much more comfortable than the Ally. Thanks for the reply. Nice to hear from someone who owns both.
I dont remove mines at all. If I want to sit the unit down on the table and play while I'm sitting I guess I would just hook up some Bluetooth controllers wirelessly.
@@Leo_DS No reason to detach them because I can just use my X Box controller if I want to sit the unit down and play it. I love the Legion Go screen size and the fact that It is an actual PC and the Deck is not and I can use it as a PC when not gamming. I love my Go so far.
It doesnt really matter over time that controller will wobble because the attachment will get loose and also the weight of the main tablet. Lenovo shouldnt have made it detachable.

Sorry for the delay in responding, I'm on vacation. Thanks for sharing your experience. Comment pinned.

Apparently also, you can buy replacement parts from Lenovo, but I doubt they're cheap.
My personal use POV , im never taking my controllers off. Im a console gamer type so i dont need detach mode. However to each theyre own😊
Hi, you say you won#t detach the controllers. What made you go for the Legion Go over the Ally and Steam Deck? Are you happy with the Go?

You can detatch the touch side and use it nicely
Going through the hassle with this because of the wear down. Just ordered me locking pins for this on ebay. 3d printed. Highly suggest
thanks for the tip that they are a thing
@dougmoore1077 be careful installing. Might take some adjustments
Hi, can u link the lock pin for me that u buy please?
What is that locking pin
I bought this to use in tablet mode anyway so I removed them from the beginning. But this is still good to know.

i want it removeable. they just need to make it more durable.stop complaining
I dont care , hve 5 years warrenty from my seller shop !🤪
😂
Good idea. The build quality is why i'm returning my third LeGo. This thing will be junk in 3 years.
it, being removeable is one of LeGo main feature. it makes the device versatile as it can be use as tablet. so stop complaining
Am I complaining? I just wanted to share this idea. I like the detachable controllers too.
He probably didn't watch the video
