I know you're not a tab guy but it sure would help...
What I take for this is the utility of playing a "cowboy" chord and then sliding up the fretboard to a familiar pentatonic shape for a lick. I've never thought about integrating chords and licks in those terms although it seems pretty basic. Can't wait to finish my coffee, get out of bed and play around with this idea.
That "Wish You Were Here" knock off lick works like a charm.

If Elixir strings last for ever, I can see sales slowly declining as the market gets saturated. Not good news for Ma and Pa Elixir who are only selling the strings to take care if their extended family (Bobby Jo Elixir and her ten children in Tennessee, Irvin and Ruth Elixir and their seven in New York, Noah and Emily Elixir and their twins in Portland Oregon, Jayden and Lucas Elixir’s surrogate three in San Francisco and all the rest. ‘Come on,’ they’re all saying, ‘why are you producing guitar strings that last for ever! Jeez!’
Yeah, but what gauge do you think is best? As in balance of tone and ease of playing. Think of it as, what has the richest tone, but doesn’t hurt your fingers.
