This whole drama has been superbly done, but this episode has been the most profoundly dramatic, impeccably performed and incredibly well written. From the symbolism of the crown prince’s wife being given tea made sweet although it was bitter, the attention brought to postpartum depression, and the strength of the friendships within the royal family. Just beautiful. Crown Prince is the perfect villain so easy to hate, and sixth young lord found his own power. Just great!

@maewest4192 If you like her in this one, try Ruyi's Royal Love In The Palace. She plays Ruyi's loyal and devoted maid. She has endured so much in this series.
So nobody going to talk about how madam threw everything about their husband and what she would tell baby at her except the kitchen sink trying to get through to her. Love how she care about Hao Jie. You don't see many women like these on a c drama.
Now that the intense part is over, I can laugh about him not being strong enough to actually wield the spear and fight the guards so he takes himself hostage. Impressive quick-thinking on his part. "Stay back! I have a spear and I'm not allowed to stab myself!"
I absolutely love the friendship and bonds between the women in this series. That's some true love. And absolutely loving 5th and 6th prince coming to defy all rules for a friend of their wives. True husband and humanhood I think. This series is really really good, one of my fav so far (next to dreams of splendor).
This was the most epic episode of this drama so far! THE WAY I WAS SCREAMING JUMPING THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE HAO JIA RESCUE SCENE 😭😭 LOVED LOVED LOVED how Yin Zheng took charge of the situation. My man can be fierce and scary as hell when needed and I love seeing that side of him 🔥😍
Obviously everyone is talking about how heart wrenching and epic this episode was with Hao Jia but no one’s talking about how we find out that Jheng’s mother was 15?!?!! When she gave birth???? Like so far we’ve been made to see her as a heartless uncaring mother who gave away her son to the servants and ignored him, but she was fucking 15!!! She was a child!!! No wonder she had post partum depression and couldn’t take care of him! That detail just fucking got me man. The depth to all these characters the details we gain for even background characters is incredible.
No, no, go back and listen again. His mother says to her maid, after sending Wei home, that she was NOT yet 15 when she gave birth to Zheng. Which means she was even younger than the fifteen years we thought she had when she conceived and delivered him.
He's so consumed with himself, that he is willing to ruin other lives to achieve his goals. Wow this actor has done a phenomenal job with portraying the second prince character, you really get to hate him I can't believe that he had been doing this to his wife for so long, he knew that she wanted a child... oh my aahhhhh
He's sick. There are a saddening amount of men who get vasectomies and don't tell their partners but then go on a TTC journey. How do you watch someone get sad about not conceiving every month KNOWING why it's not happening?
That evil smile when he says that she will never have his child. He is so cruel. I admire how this series touches on such heavy subjects but still keeps it watchable. Often Chinese series are almost unbearable to watch with heavy subjects. This is my absolute favourite series. The womanhood and friendships are wonderful and more real than all the rival stories. A dream of splendor is a close second fav of mine. Def recommend watching that one!
This episode was epic the way they rescue hao jia was so amazing specially that scene when li wei slapped song and sixth lord kick him they are so powerful together damn 🔥🔥
And that was how Hao Jia disturbed the peace of the palace. You could literally see the love they had for her. Fifth young lord was the hero of this episode. Man was literally a star. And kudos to the Li Wei for delivering a sweet slap to the Crown young lord. 😂😂
Wow! That was by far the most emotionally and edge of the seat in the series so far. It was also nice to see how everyone worked together to help the 2nd prince's concubine ( even his legal wife who knows what a loser he truly is). What a sad life she too lead and finely realizing WHY she couldn't have children. Great work to the writer, producer, actors and actresses.......
Man I relate so much to this I love how it portrays both sides to the situation of post-partum depression and spreads awareness. I suspect my mom had post partum depression. She said I was a planned pregnancy she wanted to have a girl but the moment I was born she cried and said that wasn’t her baby that she didn’t want it. Divorced my dad and left. 5 years later returned looked at me like I was an enemy everything I did was wrong in her eyes too ugly skin to dark voice annoying my presence angered her. I used to be mad at myself for never being good enough to deserve love or attention thought I deserved the suffering. Was mad at her for giving birth to me why have me if you didn’t want me it’s not like I want to be here. But when I got older a more mature i realized I don’t blame her anymore she was young when she had me in china post partum depression wasn’t a thing that was well known she wasn’t treated or helped. At the end of the day we are all helpless at the face of what we can’t control. We shouldn’t jump to conclusions when someone’s a terrible parent sometimes they are ill, we should try to help. Post partum is definitely a real thing that affects mothers more awareness should be made about signs and symptoms.
This episode was everything!!! from the second wife Caring for hao jie and ignoring the husband and making sure she pulls through! and for lie wei slapping that bastard the second prince and her husband 6th prince finally fucking him up after slapping his wife! and third prince out here screaming he finna kill himself loooooool I loved every moment omg everybody just loves and supports each other
At first I didn't feel any remorse for Hao Jie because she chosen that way by herself. But now I felt sad for her😢😢she just wants to rely on the crown prince and have a better life 🧬 but she meet the opposite 🥺🥺So glad she has a good friends around her.
The best drama I've ever seen... no women pulling each others legs, but being the backing of other women is the best thing about this drama... love this❤
The scene where Zheng kicks Song to the ground made me a lot more excited than any scene in Til The End Of The Moon 😍This show is so well written and Bai Jingting is FABULOUS 38:50
This episode was really amazing It proved what real friendship meant li Wei slapping that stupid face of song an all of them taking that risk for hao jia proved how much they cared for her 🥺🥺
Love how Second Young Lord (Edward Zhang) is such a sociopath that he revealed his own evil deeds without giving it a second thought🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫. The best part of this 🎭 are the events taken place at his mansion🤔. Second Young Lord hasn’t a bit of shame and/or remorse😅😂🤣🥲😅😂🤣🥲😭😭😭😭😭😭
This was a great episode. I have been waiting for it since I slide some clips I was afraid that the clips had ruined it, but they really pulled the cat out of the bag with this episode! I was totally hooked. I laughed and cried. Speaking of cats, did you see the fake cat crossing the road? 😄 I don't know what the superstition s about black cats are in China or the rest of the world, but here in Ireland if a black cat crosses your path, it"a supposed to be good luck. So whatever Liwei was thinking, it turned out for the better for Hao Jia in the end.
I guess it like how White is Bridal in the some parts of Europe and White is for mourners in Asia. One thing means different things to different people.
Sadly it is very common in other countries that to see a black cat (crossing the road in front of you) is a bad omen. That is still the reasons why a lot of black cats can't get adopted :( It happens to a lot of black animals as well. (I guess maybe because it is really hard to get a good photo of them for adopting pictures...)

Stop with the she was only 15, times were different but it is still happening today. The marriage age for girls back then was 13 to 18. Life expectancy was short. A girl was a burden so she was either sold off or sent to the pleasure houses or the palaces as concubines or maids. Your backbone needs to be straight your shoulders back and your head up, even if you were like wobbly jelly on the inside. I would also think that STD's were rampant in these harems.
Li Wei slapping Song and Zheng kicking him to the ground is the best scene in the whole show!!! It was so satisfying omg

She needs to do more practice so that she can slap him a. little harder🤭
