  • In this clip of Market Mondays, our hosts Rashad Bilal, Ian Dunlap, and Troy Millings delve into Apple's recent announcement of its massive $110 billion stock buyback-the largest in history. Despite a 10% drop in iPhone sales, this strategic buyback sent Apple's stock price climbing. But is this enough to reassure investors amid declining sales figures? The team breaks down the implications of the buyback and considers Apple's potential ahead of the crucial June 7 announcement, where AI developments are expected to take center stage.
Ian critiques the move as a temporary fix, likening it to "duct tape over an ocean leak," emphasizing the need for groundbreaking products rather than temporary financial maneuvers. Meanwhile, Troy discusses the broader market implications and consumer anticipation, relating Apple's current predicament to Nvidia's past market performances. The trio also explores how Apple could innovate beyond its current product lineup to reignite consumer and investor interest.
Is Apple merely buying time, or are they steering the ship in a new, revolutionary direction? Stay tuned as we discuss what's next for this tech giant and what investors should look out for in the looming June announcements.

I hope they have fixed the microarchitectural design flaw that was in their M1,M2, & M3 chips. The flaw in those chips leave them open to be exploited and can't be fixed with software. Our stock depends on it.
