Very useful tutorial but how can I arrange it so that I am the only one who can register members? I need them to call me and get approval before they can have access to the locked page. Currently it seems you have to unlock the registration and open it up to anyone in order to register a user.

Thank you very much, Krishna! Your very helpful instructions resolved a perilous circumstance: I installed UM and activated, but it did not create the Default Pages! UM then asked me to assign functions to existing pages, which of course did not work--and locked me out of my own website. UM's site gives instructions for using your Host's file manager to disable a plugin--which let me enter my site, create the pages your video kindly lists, and proceed along the lines you helpfully outline. Thank for video but i don't want administrator to log in from that log in page. It should force administrators to log in from wordpress main log in URL. Is this option is available in this Plug in?

However I assigned the role of contributor to anyone who logs in to WordPress, and I can't figure out how to send a user with privileges of contributor to a section that would lead them to submitting a guest post for moderation and approval. useful utility however for the project that I’m working on all I really need is
the functionality of the WordPress Contributor role. I simply need to allow visitors who would
like to submit posts as guest Bloggers to self-register. I can then moderate and approve those posts.
In Ultimate Member we now have a Community Role (Member) that
is created by the plugin as well as the inherent roles in WordPress. I
discovered that by going into the Edit that is associated with Members in the
User Roles function of the plugin I could link the Member Role to the
Contributor Role in WordPress.
My current struggle arises when a visitor completes the
Registration form. I have set it up so
that they must confirm the registration through a link in an e-mail. That all works well. The problem is that when they complete the
login they have access to the full Dashboard and all of the privileges and functionality
of the admin user. Not Good! So now I’m trying to figure out how to
restrict this new registrant to only the ability to create a new post.
When I check the new user in WordPress they show up as a
Member and in the role of a WordPress Contributor. Something clearly is not behaving as it
should. I have been through every
setting in Ultimate Member and in WordPress itself and I know the solution is
there and hiding from me. Insights and
suggestions are welcome. I’m stuck!

After registering, you can see the user details in Ultimate Member tab in developer portal.
You can set the Email confirmation and welcome email in setting tab of Ultimate Members in developer portal.

Is this a good plug in to use if I want members to login and create their own profile page for outside web viewers? Of course, I am not providing options for them to design the page in any way. Only a way for them to customize information about themselves.

You have to install the default page after activating the plugin and then add the pages in the menu.. if you haven't set up any roles and privileges, everyone can see this menu

In 'Appearance' > 'Menus'
Click on the page in the 'Menu Structure' you want to make exclusive for logged-in users only. Within the drop down menu for that page you will see the 'Who can see this menu link' then click 'Logged in users'
You can basically make any page you like exclusive that way. It's a pretty cool plugin!
I want my users to select a role at the time of registration. like Students should register as Students, Parents should select Parents Role etc. any suggestion welcome. Please note that i have already made these separate roles the only issue is how front end users can be register according to their kind. I would appreciate any solution please. Tahnks

We need to check the checkbox anyone can register in the general settings to make the user register.
After submitting the register page, if it's successful, the profile page has to be displayed.

This plugin sucks! Trash, blocked my e-commerce Woocommerce !!!
Never install this crap, I lost access to more than 500 products registered. Just redoing everything again, Bad Plugin of Evil!
