The varieties I planted were Black Beauty Zucchini, Benning’s Green Tint Scallop Squash, Ronde de Nice Zucchini and Yellow Scallop Squash. Hope that helps!

Perfect 2nd round squash planting time. Good call. You can replant summer squash in this area and then winter too.
The squash bore moth is winding down end of June to beginning of July so their threat is about over. Pumpkin planting time for me.

We are going to be making some changes to incorporate an arched trellis - what smaller pumpkin variety do you suggest for next year?

@@marylowe2867 do you mean together? I have made stewed okra dishes in a Mediterranean style, Cajun style and Indian style. All were super delicious, and I should probably make them again 😂

@@littlesaltyhomesteader Check out the Jack Be Little pumpkins (RUclips videos of them). They're around a pound size fruit, produce a lot of tiny pumpkins perfect for trellis growing, like a whole lot of them. These seem like a good choice for the size growing area you have. In the 4-6 pound range New England Sugar Pie or Winter Luxury Pie. I've mainly grown Big Max for the past 15 years, those get 30 or 40 pounds +, but decided to go with Connecticut Field Pumpkins (carving/decoration/culinary) and Red Warty Thing (carving/decoration/culinary/puree) this year. Baker Creek/Rare Seeds usually has all those varieties of seeds mentioned here.
