The only addition that should be made: The British intelligence was not really crucial for the Soviets to realize that the Germans were about to attack the Salient. Secondly the Red Army intelligence reconnoitered the German build-up itself, because they actually couldn't miss it. Love this song. It's what introduced me to Sabaton. At the time, I was looking for an old documentary about the Battle of Kursk but instead got led to this song. Instantly got hooked once I listened to it.
As a life long student of history and a fan of metal, I've become a fan of Sabaton. The Great War introduced me the band, now I've introduced them to my nice. She is now a fan , and is going to get the EP The Art of War.
This series is amazing! The inspiration behind some of my favourite Sabaton songs. Enjoyed that little history lesson about The Art of War included at the end too.
Panzerkampf is how I learned about Sabaon. And since you guys are by a huuuuge margin my favorite band, that technically means it changed my life. It brought me all the way to Falun for Sabaton open air the year I heard it. I just had to see you live!
It was for me a real torture but I waited to be with my son to watch this episode together, since he is a very passionate fan of Panzers as he is a fan of you guys. Lovely, regards from Mexico!!!
I have an idea for a song: Siege of Savastapol And one of the lines I can't get out of my head is: SAVASTAPOL UNDER SIEGE (or SAVASTAPOL, CITY UNDER SIEGE) and all that sung like you did "Warsaw city at war" on Uprising
Alright I’ve just gotta say this only five videos into the channel. This shit is how the history of wars and warfare should be taught in schools. I had history classes every year of my time in the US education system in all but my last two years of high school and for all that, I’ve learned more today than in all my school years combined. Nobody has presented war history to me in a way that’s engaging and palatable until I came across these videos today. Thank you!!!!
The first sabaton song I listened to. I discovered in 6th grade(now I'm in 11th jr. 1 year to graduation) I loved the song and discovered more sabaton songs. I grew up learning about history and warfare mainly because of my dad who also has a big interest. Still prefer the history of ww2 over most. Sabaton helped me learn more and just person research. And this series of explaining the history behind the songs is awsome.
My new Favorite U-Tube Show! I love how you show respect for the soldiers; the men caught up in the “Meat Grinder “ these guys were necessarily fighting for an ideology; but fighting for their lives and the that of their brothers in arms!! Once again you guys have outdone yourself and further cementing Sabaton as one of the greatest Metal Bands of all Time!!!
i remember listening this song in a gifs with sound video, later i search for the song and listened to it, sounded so good that i listened more sabaton songs, i will always remember that video because it showed me a awesome band, Panzerkampf one of my favorite songs you have made.
Allthough I really like this video there's quite a lot of historical inacuracies in it... Worst one is that General Model was neither a field marshall at this time (he became in january 1944) nor did he command german army group center (that was field marshall von Kluges job) but 9th army AND 2nd panzerarmy at the same time. Also the whole "battle of prochorovka"-story just seems to follow the sowjet post war propaganda although - as recent studies by e.g. Dr. R. Töppel or Dr. K.H. Frieser showed - it was a total disaster for Rotmistrovs two tank corps who nearly got anihilated with losses of about 300 tanks while the SS-Panzer-Corps in total didn't even lose 20 tanks on 12th July 1943.
with all due respect to indy and sabaton the battle of Dubno is considered to be the largest tank battle not Kursk and indy's tone of hitlers thought about citadel is too optimistic when in reallity hitler said it makes him puke but still it got all the detail after some which I mention correct.
@@ИванРусский-ц5о the kursk battle is divided into two parts not just one in kursk there were 6,000 in total but if you divivde it the largest battle is the one at the south has 4000 and in dubno there were 5,800+ tanks
@@Marukuzuu In the first, all the battles took place in much larger space, including also the districts of Lutsk, Brody, Rovno. And it lasted for a whole week from 23 to 30 June. Secondly, what the hell are 5800 tanks ?! If the total list number of tanks in the mechanized corps of the South-Western Front was 3,429 units. In addition, only 3 of the 6 corps were operational, as the rest were at the stage of formation. The battle included a series of attacks and counterattacks during the week. If specifically about Dubno, then on June 26, the 43rd tank division of the 19th mechanized corps, using 79 tanks of the 86th tank regiment, broke through the defensive positions of the German 11th tank divisions and by 6 o'clock in the evening broke into the outskirts of Dubno, after midnight it came retreat. On June 27, only hastily organized detachments of the 24th Tank Regiment of Lieutenant Colonel Volkov and the 34th Tank Division of the brigade commissar Popel headed for the counteroffensive on Dubno. Having crushed defensive barriers, the Popel group in the evening entered the outskirts of Dubno, capturing the enemy’s 11th Panzer Division’s rear reserves and several dozen intact tanks. During the night, the Germans redeployed to the place of the breakthrough part of the 16th motorized, 75th and 111th infantry divisions and closed the gap, interrupting the supply routes and surrounding the Popel groups. The defense lasted until July 2, when ammunition and fuel came to an end, the detachment, having destroyed the remaining equipment, began to break through from the encirclement. After passing over the enemy’s rear over 200 km, the group entered the location of the 15th Rifle Corps of the 5th Army.
@@Marukuzuu is this book scientific? *whistles, wonders if on some other of the new ones, like, Last Dying Breath, we get say a Chris on screen, that'd be amazing*
Mostly Par and Joakim are co-presenting with Indy to start with because they are our chief songwriters and biggest history lovers, but maybe we can fix something with the rest of us in a future week...?
This was the first Sabaton song I was exposed to, and I was immediately in love. I regret that it took me much longer to discover the actual band, but Panzerkampf holds a special place in my heart
I hope you liked the video then :)
One of the most epic SABATON songs ❤❤❤❤
Love this song. It's what introduced me to Sabaton.
At the time, I was looking for an old documentary about the Battle of Kursk but instead got led to this song. Instantly got hooked once I listened to it.
LOVE THIS SONG!
As a life long student of history and a fan of metal, I've become a fan of Sabaton. The Great War introduced me the band, now I've introduced them to my nice. She is now a fan , and is going to get the EP The Art of War.
awesome!!
Love sabaton history
This series is amazing! The inspiration behind some of my favourite Sabaton songs. Enjoyed that little history lesson about The Art of War included at the end too.
Один мой прадед погиб под Смоленском, второй умер в Праге в июне 45-го.
В июне 45-ого? От ран что-ли?

Panzerkampf is how I learned about Sabaon. And since you guys are by a huuuuge margin my favorite band, that technically means it changed my life. It brought me all the way to Falun for Sabaton open air the year I heard it. I just had to see you live!
And we hope it was well worth the trip 😉 Thanks a lot for following us!
One of my favorite songs? Yes please, now I just need Carolus Rex
Alexander Schweinehunde Yes daddy
But the whole album
One of my favourite Sabaton song. It just has the punch and epic ness to do such a battle justice
I'm sure now i'll get a good grade from history in the next test about the Battle of Kursk
It was for me a real torture but I waited to be with my son to watch this episode together, since he is a very passionate fan of Panzers as he is a fan of you guys. Lovely, regards from Mexico!!!
You're a hero! Say hi to your son for us ;)
I have an idea for a song: Siege of Savastapol
And one of the lines I can't get out of my head is: SAVASTAPOL UNDER SIEGE (or SAVASTAPOL, CITY UNDER SIEGE) and all that sung like you did "Warsaw city at war" on Uprising
Panzerkampf was the first Sabaton song I herd and its also what got me listining to more Sabaton songs.
I belive that Prochorovka was under von Manstein command, not Models, and that battle took place before russian counterattacks in the north
Thanks Jen! Means a lot!
God I love this channel! 2 of my favourite subjects: history and metal! 🤘🤘
Ура товарищи! И о нас не забыли!
иронично
This is EVERYTHING I could have ever hoped for and more when I first read the words "Sabaton History" channel. Thank you
Cool! Glad you like it! 🤘
SOLDIERS OF THE UNION
BROKE THE CITADEL
RUINS OF AN ARMY
AXIS REST IN HELL!!!!
My favorite part
I thought the lyric was "fascists rest in hell!" I now it is not, but it should be.
@@ShantyIrishman that doesn't make sense, fascism still lives on sadly.
TecnicStudios Fascism is an idea, fascists are people, a lot of them died in 1943.
@@ShantyIrishman you might have heard of a little fascist named Francisco Franco, he ruled Spain from 1939 to his death in 1975.
same. I don't know what's about it that makes it so pleasant to the ear
I CAME THE MOMENT I SAW THE NOTIFICATION
i remember listening this song in a gifs with sound video, later i search for the song and listened to it, sounded so good that i listened more sabaton songs, i will always remember that video because it showed me a awesome band, Panzerkampf one of my favorite songs you have made.
My favorite Sabaton song after Rise of Evil!
INTO THE MOTHERLAND THE GERMAN ARMY MARCH!
To me, Panzerkampf remains one of my favorite Sabaton songs because I first found Sabaton with that song.

Sabaton is the fuel to my love for military history. You go guys! I support you all the way!
Please battle in 1648. its good song of prague
Sorry I'm no time traveler
Awesome video once again! Really love the maps showing the advancements of the armies. Can’t wait for the new album :D
Yeah Eastory is great! thanks!
Good to see somebody knows a thing about history here.
Thank you for these videos. They are awesome. I love the historical theme of your music and I been introducing all my friends to you.
Haha, that's why our we're getting this many views then ;) Thank you!!
The 2 dislikes are the german commanders

Tanks victor!! (see what i did there?)
with all due respect to indy and sabaton the battle of Dubno is considered to be the largest tank battle not Kursk and indy's tone of hitlers thought about citadel is too optimistic when in reallity hitler said it makes him puke but still it got all the detail after some which I mention correct.
About 6,000 tanks participated in the Battle of Kursk
@@ИванРусский-ц5о there was a book which claims dubno was the largest battle check out TIK 's vudeo about it he can explain it better than me
@@Marukuzuu is this book scientific? Was it written by Soviet, Russian or at least French historian (historians of other nations usually don't have an access to Soviet archives or just too lazy to research them. French historians typically use at least some of them). Is it modern research? A lot of archive documents was declassified only after 1991.
