Literally one of my two most desired concept classes for TF2, along with Civilian, lol. Make Spy be unable to disguise as a Guard Dog, but make him still be able to disguise as a Civilian by pressing 0 (Notice how currently there are 9 classes, so to solve that little issue if both were added, Civilian's Spy key would be 0 and Guard Dog's would be non-existant, because you know, it's pretty hard to disguise yourself as a dog, lol.) The Guard dog sounds incredibly useful, honestly.

It isn't like spy puts on a simple paper face mask and convinces people he is as wide as a heavy.
I'm pretty sure placing the dog's face on the mask would work fine. Though most people wouldn't fall for the disguise the same reason Scout is easy to pick out. He is simply too slow.

Pros about it:
- Speed being close to Scout's
- Gatling guns on the back
- Delivers supplies to Engineer and other players
- Can hold down enemy classes such as spy.
- Can alert team-mates
- Guards areas such as sentry nests and control points
- Is dog
Cons about it:
- Colorblindness
- Low health
- Is weak with biting
- Cats annoys the player (maybe idk)
- Heavys will be disappointed in you stealing their sandwich
But to be honest, it'd be very annoying to go into a server with a bunch of Guard Dog bots.

If it dies it shouldn’t explode in a bloody mess, it’s guns (or whatever is equipped) should fall off, the dog gets sad, and digs into the ground and disappears (because just despawing would look weird and unfinished) it should be different depending on situations but like if it’s moving it should like trip or something and slide (or fall if in mid air) then proceeded with [above]. Idk some neat idea I thought of lol

Primary: Sentry Guns
Secondary: Boosters
Meele: Bite
Smaug the Dragon tuant: goodest boi
Smaug the Dragon - Bet one of his sentry gun alternatives will have either a lower dmg or slower fire, but gains increase dmg on intel carriers. Boosters would have a choice forward boost or a similarly rocket jump boost. Possibly a third selection of “boost” pushing enemies and projectiles just like pyro. Melee would probably be metal jaws or muffle sets that add unique benefits (like slowing enemies but less dmg so help to have teammates catch an enemy like a sitting duck)
Class type: support
Objective: to harass the enemy until team can get to the objective, to help fellow engineers.
Downside: less heath, can only have limited amount in each team, one in competitive, two in casual
Smaug the Dragon I know this is an old comment, but in case you’re still wondering, here’s what his weapons were going to officially be:
The Hanger (primary): these are the guns on his back. I think they were going to be like the sniper’s SMG, but a little more powerful.
The Helper (secondary): this allowed him to haul ammo and health packs.
The Hater (melee): these were the rocket boosters on his back. Worked like a normal melee weapon but you could right click for a speed boost

I love the idea of this class having a pack delivery mechanic. It'd mean playing the part of an eager dog bringing engineers and other players supplies, and it'd incentivise Heavies to dump their sandviches on them at round start, as if giving them a treat.

There’s an official comic where he feeds sandviches to some guard dogs to tame them so he can see the administrator.
Traits for the dog:
(Gonna be a lot)
Low health (think spy or scout level. Maybe even lower since he’ll have a much smaller hurtbox. Maybe 100)
Above average speed (as another said slightly slower then scout and only gets one jump so Scout still has the monopoly there)
Spy Scent (How this would work is like being near a family member in Texas Chainsaw. When I’m a small radius around a spy the edges of your screen with change into your team color)
Base Weapons:
Machine gun: These side turrets fire like an smg but has ammo similar to a minigun. Best in mid to short range and is best for closing the distance as your charging an enemy
Bitedown: The dog does a small lunge forward while biting. I’d it hits an ammo or health kit it will pick it up and will change colors to the corresponding team. When doing this the dog can’t use it but anyone on the dogs team can use it simply by being within a small radius of the dog. If the dog dies while holding a crate it will remain for a short while before reverting back to its original place and in that time anyone can use it. If the lunge bites a player it will trap them as the dog bites onto their leg. 2 things happen during this. 1: the dog growls loudly, a way to alert nearby players that he’s trapped them. Spies will u cloak or transform and nobody can move in this process. 2: a bar will appear at the bottom and is influenced by mashing movement keys. If the trapped player wins they are freed, if the dog wins, they can temporarily drag the player leaving them vulnerable. The captured player can shoot at others and look around but this may lead to distracting you from the bar.
Melee: it’s simple melee but I imagine the dog will have a higher base damage for it since your goal is to get in close as fast as possible
Feel free to comment what you think other weapons should be. Like I can see the bitedown being exchanged with like the rocket pounce. I’m exchange for horizontal distance and speed it would make the dog unable to carry any items on his back and if further balancing requires maybe make winning a bitedown more difficult for you

Perhaps it could be the first instance of two classes' features actively working together. Mann's Best Friend could bring supplies to any engineers, and engineers could upgrade the equipment of Mann's Best Friend. Would be neat to see something like this!

@@PLASBEZ I disagree with you, sure it would be fast like a Scout but it wouldn't have the same damage output, it would be a support class and it would not be able to hold its own in a fight very well, I would say the Spy would need a buff so as to not let the guard dog bully him too much but I don't think that it needs to be a new game mode the guard dog would work very seamlessly as a 10th class

Fast support class.
Bring much needed supplies to your team! Instead of picking up drops for yourself, you carry them for others to pick up.
Use your jetpack to jump wider distances at once!
Enemy audio cues, such as walking and voice lines, are twice as loud.
Your secondary fire will mark enemies for death!
When picking up supplies, move 15% slower and deal 25% less damage. Or be unable to fire but gain 10% extra speed

I think it'd be a fun idea, but I don't think it will be added for these reasons.
1: doggo cute. Why would you want to shoot doggo?
2: doggo cannot russian kick dance (easily.)
3: having an entire class that basically just helps engineers that camp and turtle seems unbalanced.

I can definitely see this being an actual class, a bit more on the support side of the spectrum with some light close range assault. Might have the least hitpoints out of every light class but has absurd speed and high DPS and a small hitbox to compensate. Not to mention the support role you could play by carrying health and ammo packs around. This seems like a lower power more support oriented scout and God I wish this was real.
That voice actor is amazing.

The dog doesn’t die, instead when it’s health goes to 0 it conveniently has it’s teleporter (which is also part of the sentry backpack) take it back to spawn resorting its health too

I can picture a sub class for him called the “good boy” essentially sticking with classes and fetching them ammo
Doggo weapons
Primary: Two sentrys
Secondary: rocket boost
Melee: Bite
Other weapons
Metal jaw: double damage but less speed.
cannons: shoot rockets but less ammo and you can do rocket jumps.
Toro tackle: you can tackle enemies but recharges more slower.
Battle bottle: you can heal allies but you cant do damage
The secondary would be the claw to pick up ammo and the jetpack bite would be melee
Counter argument doggo has different sub classes that match the mercenaries ie sentry and homewrecker bite for engi, Medi gun (without Uber) and bleed bite for medic, cloak and bark stab (bite back stab) for spy, rocket launcher with rocket jumps and mini American flag (very important) for soldier, double micro guns (mini mini guns) and alt bite to eat dog biscuit (alt bite near a heavy to steal sandvich), mortars and puplander sword for demo, scatter guns and he got the zoomies for scout (yes he can fetch sandman baseballs idc why he just can), side mounted flip scope sniper and he can piss on you for sniper, flamethrowers but no air blast and either bark to extinguish or piss because toilet humor, and finally for fun SAXTON HAAAAAAAAAAALE pooch would bite through your abdomen like a chest bursted and be able to fasroda (fuck spelling) you across the map with a bark. And for all those wondering yes this was for fun no I don’t care if you hate it and yes please tell me your ideas and finally have a fucking fantastic day or else I will come to your house and feed your eyeballs to a goat adios.

This could be a good class, maybe primary could be the gatlings, secondary the propelling thingy's, and the third could be the teeth or such. Also, you could see enemy players (and spies) faintly through walls? Maybe you could alert other players with the secondary if you're stunning a spy?

Tbh this character would seem to be unique enough to be a cool character yet not break the maps, a fast support type character, 2nd fast movement speed and smallest hitbox (still square to be ablr to be hit) Boost to get to the front faster, a Bite attack for melee, ability to carry ammo or medpacks (hindering movement speed depending on the size) and a semi auto dual gun.
I'd say his weapons would be *Dual Cannon, Tackle Lunge, Fangs* he'd be under the support category too. 100 HP, Bite has less damage than scout's melee (~35 dmg) but can be held to trap a single spy, must be held. Lunge Thrust is only short range and verticle unlije the thermal thruster, will swap to fangs immediately afterwards, 1 use per every 12 seconds.
I also was thinking about that holding function :D
Holding the bite attack should work with any class, doing slow damage to them as long as they're held and slowing the enemy and preventing them from using any movement options like double jumping or using the charging targe. It'd be good to make sure an enemy doesn't get away to heal up, but you'd put yourself at serious risk to any nearby enemies that could just shoot you off.

One problem some people are having is no-one wanting to kill a dog, so instead i suggest a fear meter instead of health, bullets visually never hit the dog, and it jumps away from explosions instead of being flung, if it gets to scared, the respawn time is it running back to back in fear.
