You can purchase the key here: www.orbitonline.com/product/voyager-ii-adjustment-key/. note they are out of stock at this time (8/10/20) but more are on the way and should be there in the next 10 days.
so, instead of a screwdriver, which is readily available, to maintain the sprinkler head, I have to buy your key. I will be replacing these with more sustainable equipment.
Very clear instructions for a confusing concept. He explained it so I could get it. I wish the arrow was a darker color so you could see it better when in place.
What about troubleshooting? Some turn to the right but don't go back. I had this model for a few years and it happens often. Any solutions or do I replace the heads each time this happens?
@@michaellewis6569 no one responded so I assume they just breakdown and are not made well. I started switching to whatever a local gardener supply store recommended when they break.
This video does a good job of covering the enormous void in the Voyager 2 video - the Voyager video doesn't show how to adjust the right stop. This video, while it does show how to adjust the right stop could be better if it were more clear. For example - tell me that you have to pull the entire head out and re-seat it. I was only pulling it out slightly and the teeth would catch on the external cylinder and mess me "all up". I've sure spent a lot of time on this today but if it weren't for this video I'd still be trying to figure it out. So thanks for this one!
Really poor product development choice to require a proprietary “key”. I’m switching from orbit to rainbird because of this. I’d be curious to know how this decision impacted top-line sales and market share for its category - and if the product manager responsible is still employed by Orbit.
Hunter uses the same thing. I switched from them to Rainbird, but still have spotty coverage. I'll try Orbit Voyager II and see if I can dial it in with all the extra nozzles they include.
The third opening (which looks like a circle with a notch on either side) is used to pull the sprinkler up. To do this, insert the plastic end of the key and turn it 90 degrees. That should 'lock in' so you'll be able pull up the sprinkler head. Besides this, the opening serves no other function.
I would think if you pull it out of the ground you could get dirt into the sprinkler head.If you can adjust using the wrench, then why would you have to pull it out of the ground?
Another bad design, have the screw exposed so you can atleast see it to clean or have a screw driver slot. After you adjust the sprinklers afew times the set screw clogs
We'd need to get in touch to diagnose the problem fully. Please send us your contact info via private message on one of our social media accounts and we'll get in touch with you. Thanks.
Stuart, we do not sell the Saturn with a step spike already installed, mainly because the Saturn is generally designed specifically for use as part of an underground irrigation system. We do, however, sell other hose-friendly, gear-drive sprinklers with a step spike included. One example of this is the Orbit 58573N.
Thanks for the video. The instructions that come with the sprinkler are crap. I now realize that the sprinkler is quite easy to set up, but you'd NEVER guess that from the poorly written instructions.
The teeth do not keep the sprinkler head/arrow from spinning, maybe when new, but making small right adjustments is a pain. I’ve fought with the ones I’ve installed, returned the unopened ones and am switching brands to finish the job. Ridiculous design!
Thank you!!! The directions weren't clear at all, this helped immensely
Uhm, what if there's no key? Can't seem to find one after buying house. Is there something we can rig up?

This video explained what I needed perfectly.

Glad it was helpful!
Lost my key. What else can I use ? Small screwdriver?
A flat drive can work
Great video, helped me get proper adjustments on my sprinkler system.

Did you ever figure out a solution? I have the same thing happening.

Should I hear clicking when I turn the key?
So for my hole yard I can just buy these ? This is a all in 1 right

Where the most convenient place to get an orbit spinkler key?
My sprinkler head doesn't pop out of the ground. I have to give it a little tug. What can I do to fix it?
Thank you
Where can I find the 1/2 inch threaded Tee these sprinklers use? I can't find them, only non treaded Tee.

The manual would be SO MUCH better if it just included a link to this video. THANK YOU...
There is a third slot in the green rubber top, what is that slot used for? I believe this video overlooks it
That slot is used to pull up the riser so you can change the nozzle without turning on the water.
someevil
yes?
Place plastic and in that slot turn it pull center part of sprinkler up
Est-il possible d’utiliser Orbit saturn 55179 sans aucune rotation. .
do you have printable instruction like for what you just did
please see here: www.orbitonline.com/site_files/manuals/55079-24%20rC(1)1.pdf
Great video! Helped me adjust mine! Thanks!
You showed the two adjustments, distance and span. There seem to be third opening on the head as well. What is that for?

Does the green cover come off? The set screw is clogged so I can’t get the wrench in to adjust it
The green cap is not meant to come off. If the top portion is clogged a paper clip is usually narrow enough to remove the debris.
Another bad design, have the screw exposed so you can atleast see it to clean or have a screw driver slot. After you adjust the sprinklers afew times the set screw clogs
My brand new sprinkler doesn't move when on and there is plenty of water pressure. Any ideas?

Are the adjustments the same for all gear drive sprinklers?
Comment faire pour traduire en français?
Do you have a spike for a garden hose

Hey great video very helpful
My sprinkler head is always leaking. If some one can tell me how to fix it? Thanks
Thanks!
you are awesome big help
Great video but you never explained what the third hole does.
It's just to assist in pulling the head out of the socket if needed, with the plastic part of the key. No adjustment in that hole.
Thanks for the video. The instructions that come with the sprinkler are crap. I now realize that the sprinkler is quite easy to set up, but you'd NEVER guess that from the poorly written instructions.
Great video. Solved my issue, not sprinkling as it should. Thanks!
Orbit Saturn 3
Do you have any more gear box for a traveler sprinkler in stock
They're currently on order. The soonest we're expecting some is late-June.
The teeth do not keep the sprinkler head/arrow from spinning, maybe when new, but making small right adjustments is a pain. I’ve fought with the ones I’ve installed, returned the unopened ones and am switching brands to finish the job. Ridiculous design!
thanks for your help....gotter done!
Why does this look like the Hunter pgj did orbit rip off Hunter?
