that was a great review I am now going to buy that car I was skepticalabout it now I'm convinced that it is going to be a great car I am a gm guy.owning corvettes and other cars that will be a great day driver for me.thank great job
This looks like a great car. It looks good, gets great mpg, and I like the features. The two things that make me take a step back is the tiny trunk, and the lack of a spare tire. I understand there is still a cavity under the cargo deck for a donut spare but as far as I can tell Chevy doesn't have an option for a spare tire. That's a deal breaker for me. Even if I can get a spare for it the 11 Cu Ft of trunk space is a problem for me. Other than those two big issues I really like this car and plan to take a test drive in one. We have two Prius cars now. It's great to see mid sized cars like this Malibu that get over 45 mpg. I love the Prius but after 8 years I'm getting a little bored with it and wouldn't mind making a switch. The hybrid habits of the Malibu are all similar to the Prius so I'm quite comfortable with them.
8 years driving a Prius? I can see why you're bored. But don't let the spare tire issue keep you away from the Malibu Hybrid. It's well worth the minor sacrifice.
CarBuzz - Unboxing Everyday Cars and Supercars Don't get me wrong. There's nothing wrong with a Prius, nothing in particular that would be boring to me. It's simply that we had the 2008 version for eight years, then bought a 2015. The two cars are so much the same it's easy to forget which one I'm driving. So I'm simply bored with the same car all those years. The same would happen with any car.
+CarBuzz - Unboxing Everyday Cars and Supercars awesome! Personally I have a '16 GT and I absolutely love the car and I would love to hear your opinion on the car
The only problem I have with the Malibu hybrid is that spec'd out it's about 9 grand more than a similarly equipped Fusion hybrid and about 4 grand more than the Accord hybrid. Admittedly you get a few amenities that aren't available on the competition (the other two don't come with leather seats or a sunroof) but is it really worth nine grand? I say thee nay.
You bring up a very good point here. Some buyers like those extra amenities and it really boils down to personal tastes. But like I said, a new Accord Hybrid is set to arrive for next year. That'll be interesting to see.
Absolutely beautiful car don’t have one yet but I know someday imma be sitting in that driver seat with a big smile on my face 😁
Really enjoyed the way you "unboxed" this car, excellent video!
and you are doing a great job with the best review I have seen in a long time.you are a pro
Thanks, Jody! I have a lot of really interesting reviews coming up so stay tuned!
Awesome vid thanks! What is the + and - for on the shifter for the hybrid?

I always thought Chevy's a been a premium cars unlike ford for some reason

+CarBuzz - Unboxing Everyday Cars and Supercars The spare is s very big issue for me. I simply won't buy a car without one.

whats the battery life expectation?
The Toyota Camry is a midsize sedan, not the Prius; it's a compact. The Camry is a direct competitor to the Malibu.
Nice. Too bad you didn`t drive it.
You should do an unboxing of a mustang GT
Oh, absolutely! I'm working on it...

Glad to hear you like the GT! Great car and great choice. Like I said, stay tuned...
how comfortable are the seats. I drive 300 km a day and I really would like to get a comfortable car

But that poor GM reliability tho...
terrible rear visibility.
Meh. True for all cars now. That's what the backup camera and parking sensors are for...
