Just came to learn about pleats from the previous video... Wow! What a tour de force of love, admiration, education and documentation. If there was such a thing as a textile ovation, I'm standing. Bravo.
The final garment turned out well. Though not to my taste, I can really appreciate the time and attention to detail involved in making this outfit. I love how you used the beads as weights. You also gave me another person to research in fashion. Being both Asian and white, I long ago went with just being and doing my own thing and ignore the negativity. I hurt no one or myself, so it's easy to just zero in on my vision and do my sewing projects.
I'm so impressed by your directing, editing and videography skills ON TOP OF your amazing craftsmanship. Love your storytelling too. I just recently found your channel and I feel you bring something new and unique to youtube, that was missing previously. can't wait to have some more time and binge-watch your previous videos too :) - a new fan from Hungary
Definitely DID NOT think of a bird's nest! I could only say to myself "Wow, she looks so amazingly cool even while working." You've done it again! Your videos are so soothing and have a sumptuous quality despite being rather practical tutorials. Happily subscribed! 🌹🌹🌹
That turned out amazing - I love the 1980s look. It's an underrated fashion decade, in my opinion, but it's probably my favorite. And your filming..... it's just beautiful. 😊
It is a stunning creation, so unique and original. Congratulations. I love how the life of the great Tina Chow is 'sewn' into your craft to celebrate the life of the woman who inspired many designers and became a trend. Cheers to that.
Was recommended your first pleats video on youtube and so glad i clicked on it, have come back for more. A wonderful blend of calming, inspiring and motivating, engaging and beautifully aesthetic all at once
Super amazing. Let me say that you have the perfect voice for narrating your videos . I have as waiting patiently for this video ... And it did not disappoint!!!! I've thought often about your share if the process to pleat . I'll take my time and maybe one day attempt a garment too. You have different areas of your garments that I still need to watch to see how you do it. Love love love .... The garment!!!
absolutely adored this video! your retelling of fashion history + sharing your creative process + all the research you did is super inspiring. i'm excited to try out the pleating technique + beadwork for a skirt 🤍
second that! I found it super nice to learn about fashion history, i sew a lot myself and more as a hobby, and this is kind of an artistic recharge or something haha. thanks for sharing
This did not disappoint! The jacket and skirt are so beautiful. Your design aesthetic and craftsmanship are incredible. Tina Chow has been a shadowy figure on the periphery of my consciousness, a name that I vaguely recognized as “fashion-y”, but I didn’t know anything about her. I’ve been reading about her on the internet now. Fascinating woman. I think if you’re ever looking for a future project here, you could put together an incredible tribute/bio piece about her.
You are my absolute favorite creator. It’s amazing how much work you put in doing research, making things from scratch, carefully sewing together each layer of the garment as well as each fragment of the story. And the photography and editing is just divine! I want to make every single frame into a painting, the composition and colors are so delicious. You are a talented storyteller, each new video you create is like a tiny little world inside of a bead of glass - and we get to climb inside, or watch it from the outside with big glittering eyes. I could listen to your calming voice all day. Thank you for creating. And thank you for sharing your deeply personal creations, stories and interests with us. You inspire me so much.
Hi Victoria I found your channel accidently and im so glad that i did. Not an art or design student but i like artists in their spaces making things. Watching your videos is both intriguing and enjoyable...looking forward on what you'll create next!
This was incredible Victoria, you are so talented and thanks for sharing your design process! Really enjoyed how you showed baking the fabric and then how you designed the ensemble. Antonio Lopez did some beautiful portraits of Tina Chow.
Wow! Just wow! What a stunning jacket!! I an a new fashion artist, inspired by Issey Miyake and Schiaparelli for as long as i know, so the first pleating video along with the jacket, just wow! Thanks for further inspiring me to do my own pleating designs xxx much love and light ❤️✨
OMG your jacket is stunning. Your attention to detail is incredible. Tina was so beautiful and she would look gorgeous in a burlap bag. I think she would love your creation. ❤😊
i don't know how i happened upon you. but this was beautiful, serene yet tinged with sadness...because of Tina. i love the jacket...it's elegant and casual which i love
Beautifully executed😢& Miss Tina would appreciate your quest for learning & inspiration in 2023. I believe she would cheer you on to discover new ways to become another visionary. Keep honing your craft🎉. From across the pond.loved the patience.
Visited Fortuny museum today and am now obsessed. Found your video and it’s so lovely and inspiring. So creative and interesting. Have subscribed and now Giulia g to find out more about Tina Chow. Thanks
Whow! 😲😍🥰 I am definitively going to try a few tiny samples in this technique. I have been sewing for well over 50 years but still there are things one has no idea of.
that's why i love this world of making too, there's a never ending pool of things to learn/experiment/play with, i constantly feel like i'm absorbing. thanks so much for watching claudia ♥️
I just discovered your channel and I can tell it's going to be my new obsession. Absolutely beautiful video, beautiful work and beautiful words. You produced an absolute fabulous jacket and skirt and a gorgeous tribute to Tina 🤍🤍🤍
WOW!!! so beautiful! The beads are such nice detail, I'm gonna start to implement it on my own garments! All your projects are so stunning and the dedication you put on them really shows through🤍🤍🤍
I am inspired by the artistic approach you have in sewing. I am a bit antsy about neat finishing myself, so sometimes i was a bit like :O when you didn't have mega straight lines or finishes, but whatever that's just my antsiness. I found this super inspiring, thanks for sharing!
Wow! I love your content, the aestetics, edeting, filming, narration, the work you do etc. Amazing! Do you have any RUclips recommendations? Which channels do you watch?
The pleats in the garment are not straight like the fabric you showed when you were cutting it out. The finished garment pleats are all over the place. Misleading.
I used to see lovely Tina in the 80's. I would like to believe she died peacefully but there was little to offer HIV victims in those days and I hope she wasn't in too much pain but she was a mother too. A lose, a lose.
