  • Having noticed a few months a little play in the rear bearing it finally reached the point of needing replacing. A Secondhand complete rear eccentric was obtained for £200 and here's the 30 min video of the replacement.

    Had my 2007 f800st eccentric drive replaced free by bmw in 2020 after it failed, now I've got to remove and grease my 2011 ST touring one as it's seized and can't be adjusted. 🤦‍♂️Great video thanks......

    Hey pat, or anyone else. Where do you buy the temporary centre stand you ears in this video. How do you describe it. I’ve got a 2008 f800st and would love that kind of stand for maintenance. Really useful vid👍

    Cheers for this. Wished I’d looked at your comments though prior to me ordering a 45mm socket which ppl told me in the forums. Just a quick one, the eccentric tensioner, middle bolt just backs out? Mine gets stiff and don’t wanna strip anything.

      The two side bolts clamp the eccentric circle closed. So you need to loosen them first.
      Then tap a wedge in the rear gap to open it slightly.
      The middle tensioner bolt works by forcing the bearing housing to rotate changing the centering of the bearing and hence the tension.
      You may find the whole eccentric is sized in place.

    Good morning Pat. Do you know where I can also find the eccentric outfit at that price? I'm in Rome if you have any links where I can buy it I would be grateful. I have a 2006 BMW F 800 ST.
    Best regards

    How many km/miles did you have on the bike when you changed this? AFAIK it's currently a factory recall if the bearing fails.

    What size socket did you use to get that great big wheel nut off ?

      I believe Pat used a 45mm, but BMW spec is 46mm (12pt)

      @@sundog5948 Yes I used a 46mm (a very long time ago).

    Pat you mentioned on F800riders.org that you had some play on your rear pulley, and you used some rubber to eliminate play. Is it hard to do it?

    • @F800rider
      @F800rider  7 лет назад

      wesoly757 no its not hard. I just removed the pulley and added the packing rubber.

      Pat Horridge ok Thx I'll try to do the same. Can I ask you what did you use?

    • @wesoly757
      @wesoly757 7 лет назад

      Pat Horridge so the pulley don't need to be disassembled? There will be an access to stick that extra rubber? What did you use, what type of rubber?
