I bought one of these in 2005 returning home from Iraq for the first time. Decided a Martin would be my welcome home present to myself, so off to the hometown shop where I bought my first guitar back in high school. Was torn between a D28 and D35 in the shop. Got to talking with the owner and he brought out a DVM. I was hesitant as I’m not normally one to advertise my service when out of uniform. But I played it and loved the rich, full tone. Ended up choosing it after blind testing all three. And the owner, a Korean War vet, cut me a good deal. Thanks Lemmo for highlighting this guitar.
A perfect choice of guitar for today. It's ANZAC Day here in Australia where we commemorate our servicemen & women on the anniversary of the Gallipoli landing in WW1. An excellent choice. Thank you. Cheers, Mark from Linda Crescent
Thanks Darwin Tremor. That's an awesome cover. Beautifully played and would make a nice tribute to our 4 fallen heroes in the Victorian Police Force who were killed in that horrible incident on the Eastern Freeway in Melbourne this week.
Marks rendition of My Little Ballerina always brings a smile to my face and cheers me up...essential in these troubled times...check out the full version...you won’t be disappointed. Thanks to all of you for keeping the videos coming and helping us through.
I love the history lessons from Mark but it’s hard not to love Lemmo’s personality. Thankfully Mark did a guitar of the day for almost every major model of guitar so we can go back and learn.
This is a good reason I love Martin! Yes they are expensive but this model is touching, I love seeing a veteran’s model of a Dreadnought style acoustic! Definetly a good tribute to those who served a great nation!🇺🇸🇺🇸
I have a DVM I bought brand new in rememberance of both my grandfathers that served in the US Navy in world war II. They are great guitars. I would like to see you do a video on the D-16H. They are pretty rare they only made those for 4 years and they are a Bluegrass players dream.
Awesome as ever Michael!!!! Love your vids. Lovely to hear you pay tribute to your health care workers, very kind words. Over here in England, UK, we have the NHS (National Health Service) which is free to everyone....you can see Doctors, specialists, Emergency room, etc all without any worry of money, totally free! Every Thursday evening at 8.00 p.m. the whole country stands outside their front doors(safe distance) and applauds the NHS workers for 2 minutes! They are front line in the hospitals and quite a number of them have died as a result. So please keep spreading your message of staying safe and tell that President T ( do you you know what trump means over hear in the UK? Its always been a polite kiddies word for farts! i.e. President Fart ) that we all need to stay home and lifting lockdown too soon could be disastrous for everyone. Stay safe Norm & team, really appreciate your efforts whilst we all wait to get back to some safety and normality. Respect to you all !!!
I have an excellent stylist guy that will cut for cash on the front porch. Just got mine done it was too long and just in time before the heat. He is in Garden Grove a bit away from the valley. He is normally in a salon but hair cuts are not essential so this was desperation. I love my hair cut. I came with 2 masks and cash, no fancy stuff because it is his home porch. He has been cutting for 15 years. Fast hands with the scissors lol
I've been trying to grow mine back out but I'm 70 and it comes in fragile and gray. I really feel trained to NOT wear a mask in public but if I did I prefer the Lone Ranger type.
Love to have one being a Vet, but those were never made for Vets to afford. My first paycheck was $120. Hope the profits went to Vet groups when they were introduced.
0:15- "I'm bored." Lemmo, you're bored?? You're surrounded by countless fabulous guitars, the type of which I'd never be able to get my hands on, and you're bored???
Had to comment on this one as some things were glaringly obvious. First off,Great tune and playing by The Lemmster, BUT... Tone is awful for a Martin. Intonation is crap. Tuners won't hold a note. Capo sends the tuning out the window. This may be just because of the crap intonation but could be bad fret crowning. No wonder Lemmo didn't spend much time on this one. I expect this will be someones wall adornment rather than a player. Keep safe folks. Support our carers and key workers however you can.
Lemmo, it's not pronounced "corpse". I know you meant "Corps", which is pronounced "core". Unfortunately, right now is a time when things like this matter. Really, the whole thing is kinda cheesy. And, for a Martin, not that impressive.
For anybody wondering, the inlay between the last two frets is the ribbon for the National Defense Service Medal.

I am gliding g in on 60 and still an active registered nurse so I rather wear a mask, I am so close to retirement

Love the content here. Picked a nice box. Lemmo.
Aye I'm early to listen to this legend playing such a beautiful guitar 🔥
Whaaaat. I've never seen Lemmon use a capo before. Woah
Woo hoo .... Flat top Friday .......
What is the song Mark is playing on the 1902 Martin...? drivin me crazy.
It’s “My Little Ballerina” by Brent Mason, beautiful song. He has several videos of its performance on RUclips.
Nice,unique martin.the top looks special

The 5th medallion on the Martin is the US Coast Guard
LEMMO!!!
What songs is he playing?
My husband has one.
Way cool 👍
I am a veteran of the US Marine Corps and I have no idea why any vet would want that. Maybe if I wrote a song called, "Trump Shoots Up Lysol". ;-)
LOL Somewhere a junkie is trying to catch a cheap buzz and get well at the same time LOL
Thanks for your service 😃

You wrote a song🤔where’s the singing part...

actually, now is a time when petty nonsense couldn't matter less
Good one Greg, you're quite righti thought the same thing when I read the comment
Nobody thought he was talking about Marine Corpses. The world has gone to shit and you're being pedantic over the mispronunciation of a word 🙄
