'Money Trees' by Kendrick Lamar is a commentary on the obsession of money as a result of poverty. This song fits into a wider analysis on how extreme capitalism has, not only left neighbourhoods neglected through poor housing and education, but has infected the minds of disenfranchised youth and black people And y'all dancing to this with a smile in ur face

Huge wave of nostalgia, this was peak kendrick imo. New music is incredibly detailed and intellectual but this album just had unforgettable bangers that you can rinse endlessly and never get tired of

Anyone who grew up poor can relate to this. That struggle of day to day life. Those days where an extra $20 feels like you hit the lotto. The days where those cheap times with your friends were the only escape from the worry of what you’re gonna eat tomorrow (if you will at all). The days of feeling embarrassed or ashamed because you don’t have half of what other people do. Your shirts are old and stained and your shoes are worn out and dirty. But through it all you find those tiny, little, almost missable moments where there’s peace. And you find hope for the next day. As a white kid who grew up without shit this song just proves that poverty doesn’t have a color. Black, White, Hispanic, Asian ect. We’re all just people struggling but who know one thing… WE GON BE ALRIGHT. Thank you Kendrick for this song. You’ve helped many people see beyond the next phone, water, or electric bill due and to the brighter tomorrow we can’t often focus on. Much love all of you. We’re hanging on together. 🖤🖤🖤
Lived half my childhood under the poverty line, glad I was lucky enough for my family to make it out I always felt so guilty for the longest time that my family was able to have nice things when most my friends couldn't have nothin I remember I would give anything I could to my friends just remembering back to when I wasn't able to have nothing.

'Money Trees' by Kendrick Lamar is a commentary on the obsession of money as a result of poverty. 🖤🖤🖤
