That was so spot-on about how the Japanese are passive aggressive and the whole honorific system of the old Corporation ways over there! AND ITS EFFING LEGENDARY HOW OP LITERALLY WENT FULL JAPANESE PASSIVE AGRESSION STYLE TO GET THAT HEMORRHOID OF A HUMAN BEING "REMOVED" FROM THE ASS OF THE COMPANY. And basically if you are talking to the board members of a company and you tell them that there's something that's affecting the bottom line nine times out of 10, that something is going to go away to "RETIRE AND PURSUE FURTHER ENDEAVORS" OR "IS LEAVING TO SEEK NEW OPPORTUNITIES" translation: The human dumpster fire previously burning was : 1)EXTINGUISHED QITH EXTREME PREJUDICE, AND : 2)Promptly told to sod off, piss off, kick rocks, rub it on their chest, beat their feet, take a long walk off a short pier, Commit Seppuku (It IS JAPAN AFTER ALL...THEY ARE NOT KNOWN FOR BEING RESERVISTS!!! LMAO!!!!!) etc etc
True. I'm no expert on Japanese culture, but it is apparent they have a high-regard for self-worth. If you whine and cry, you will disgust them. Japan in general seems to be a cross between traditionalism and meritocracy. I'm thinking that Shinto and Buddhism probably play a large part in this.
OP played it very Japanese: instead of suggesting they fire him, he suggested they move him to a position he wouldn’t like and would leave on his own. Suddenly I’m thinking of Milton from Office Space.
Fun fact for the red wheel world, my name was supposed to be Kiyoshis but because of my parents thick thick accents the nurse misunderstood and wrote something else and my parents just never changed it
I believe such a thing isn't as rare as some people would believe. I once thought of a similar possibility in regard to my own name but my sister went to Croatia and found a whole bunch of relatives. Now, with the internet, a quick search turns up dozens of same name (no, not Nemo).
Last story, i am currently learning Japanese, there are a few bands I like is one of the main reasons. Japanese tend to be very traditional. Women tend to get most of the brunt of this hierarchal system. I am amazed OP handled the situation with such grace. The reason why mister fuji was being disrespectful was that OP was younger and a Gaijin (foreigner). Traditionally he was being disrespectful to a younger superior. He might have had the option of retirement rather than transfer to accounting. It is likely he would have stated that he would never work dor a Gaijin.
I salute the guy in the Japanese story. I have delt with japanese companies in the pass and they are very difficult and do little games and have a big hang up about saving face especially when dealing with older, successful business men who can come up with some very pain in the ass problems after the contract is signed. So Sir I Salute You for what you did. 🤔😜😁😆😂😎👍👍💥
That first one is hilarious. Clever dude knows some basic negotiation tactics. Ask for something crazy so they'll be more likely to give in to lesser demands.
Panhandling- One day I'm coming out of our area's State employment office which is a few blocks from a homeless shelter. A man in a wheelchair sat at the corner, holding a sign which read *Not going to lie. I need a beer.* As I appreciate honesty like that, I went unto the Lucky Dollar carryout and bought him a three pack of Natty Ice tall cans ( less than four bucks) and myself a tall can Arizona sweet tea. I took them outside to him and told him I had bought the three pack but he must share it. A fellow passed us and he handed over one of the cans. We sat there for about two hours just yapping away. It was a rather pleasant way to spend a random spring afternoon.
Love it. I'd probably do that to, I don't drink (anymore) but don't care what other people do. I'd rather see that on the sign, the truth. Plus, I'd just enjoy talking to him/ anyone.
Hello RedWheel hope you are well. Thanks for sharing your stories everyday. Please stay safe.🏴😁😷👍. Hi everyone hope you are all well and safe and have had a great day too
1st story, I ran across some1 with a sign that said.... Why lie want beer 🍺 and smokes 🚬. So I gave him 5.00 bucks, I don't give anything to scammers, but tell truth right of bat....much more likely.
I do not give ANYTHING to these panhandlers/bums. They are where they are due to choices that they themselves have made. I do help people in need, like changing a flat tire, or stopping at a broken down car out in the middle of nowhere. I have even taken a large piece of lumber home for someone trying to lash it to a small car outside the Home Depot, you know, things like that. I have no doubt that if I was broke in a city or town, I would be able to get work and find a place to live. If these panhandlers can stand for hours holding a sign, then they can find work. They just don't WANT to. It is easier to beg.
I’m always willing to buy a beer, or offer a meal to someone, if I can. But I rarely give people money directly. It’s not never, but I rarely carry cash and give cash even less often.
@@Rat-Builder Some of them are ... well like prostitutes that got taken away al ltheir ID Papers. Have seen it a few times. A big BMW driving through town. Setting beggars up for good spots. A Guy in a ncie Suit screaming at Beggars to give up the Spot. There is money to be made and organised crime is already in it too.
Still working in Japan, and to say that things are still exactly like OP narrated in many japanese firms. The new generation is slowly changing its "traditions"of bullying younger people but it is still shameful when you hear that they are "bullying" you to teach you how to respect elders as they have "more" experience than you.
problem is it is a real thing on the corporate world, and spelling them out is "possible leads to identify the company" which is most un the subreddit dont want to do
For the last story, it was karma that OP became Mr. Fuji`s Superior, he was an arrogant jerk that loved to abuse his power and others below him. Also, glad he got fired for it too.

1st story happened to me more times tha I can remember. And I gave them money for beer. I suppose honesty speaks to me more than sob story. If I someone approaches me to give them money and they want food, (if I have time and some spare money) I ask what food and usually buy them, if they want a beer, then if I have spare coin in my wallet, well, at least they don't lie that they need it for hungry children at home... And I don't give money to children, cause I know they have a handler, parent or someone else and they beg professionally and I am not going to fund their "business".
Its not just Children anymore. There is a whole "Mafia" behind it now. People getting set out by quite expensive Cars early in the morning and only picked up if they made enough Money. Organised Crime has heard of beggars making several hundred Dollars a day if they are good and in good spots. And with the right "tricks". You know the right amount of coins in the "hat". I thought a "gaijin" is one of those giant monsters that seem to attack Japan like every few years.

Couldn't have been a total misfire. OP didn't just hand off his beer and walk away.

45 minute ad on an 11 minute long video. Great job, @RUclipsStaff
