  • As the title says, I botched my line at Gap Falls and ended up getting caught in the hole. I have next to no experience with beatdowns, and was never expecting my first to be Gap Falls... I'm happy that I held in there for awhile and hit some rolls, but god damn am I disappointed in myself that it still ended up in a swim. Thanks for getting my boat and paddle Don!

In olden days (think perception Mirage, etc) it was common to side surf, then rudder out the right side.

Pretty good effort man! Once you establish a good side surf just stay sitting up and really dig for the front strokes or go for a loop haha. Surfers right looked pretty blocked off tho.

Your only option is to surf out the right side as a wise man (John Kobak) coached me to do when I got myself in that hole in my hole bait Fluid Solo. That boulder on the left is blocking your escape from that side. It worked!
