    For the folks that want to watch a lowres version, you can check it out here: ruclips.net/video/OEuRxXVWoWg/видео.html
    The reason we had to export/upload in 4k is because RUclips kept compressing earlier versions (like the unlisted link above) and when you spend literal weeks working on a project you don't want to post the version that looks like it was filmed with a potato

They hold soil from being eroded, provide antibiotics and sugars to bees, DIGEST PLASTIC AND RADIOACTIVE WASTE, regenerate damaged neural pathways AND create new ones, control pests, boost crop yields and defend against blights! Tasty mushrooms get spread way further than deadly ones. Evolution!. Thats taken thousands of years. Hundreds of years in the Americas. In Australia, the advice is simply dont. Still, any mushroom thats gone thru a cow is considered ok. Its either gonna be a steak serve of protein or gonna trip you balls. Them wild ones, we just dont know. Yet.

    This is a fun video! I have taken my kids mushroom hunting on the past couple weeks here in England. I know very little about how to identify them (I know a few basic varieties, like puffball and we identified a nice cluster of Turkey tail on a tree stump) but we just had a whale of a time photographing them and seeing how many different types we could find! We probably came across 25ish different types in the 3 pretty small locations we searched.

    When harvesting mushrooms, clean them where you find them, so that you leave behind as many of the spores as possible.

    • @dtroystopper2
      @dtroystopper2 4 года назад +4

      if you do clean them where you find them, be sure to hide the trimmings or you will alert others to the location of you patch. Also, by the time a mushroom gets to harverstable size, it's already released billions of spores in that area.

    I love going out on hikes and taking photos of mushrooms, tiny flowers, and lichens. Once, I found a fallen stick covered in what looked a lot like pale pink gum drops. Like if dots came in pale pink. Kind of translucent, with the round end on the wood and the flat end out. I never could find anything that looked remotely like it in a guide or on the internet, but I figure it was probably a fungus or an organism that includes fungus.

    There was a man who had four wives.
    The first one died from eating poison mushrooms.
    The second one died from eating poison mushrooms.
    The third one died from eating poison mushrooms.
    The fourth one died from a concussion. He hit her over the head when she wouldn't eat her poison mushrooms.

    Just recently started learning about foraging mushrooms...good timing for this video.
    The current goal is finding a Shaggy Inkcap (to make ink and to eat :) )

      That's a good one - as far as I know, there is no other mushroom in North America that looks like them (so no poisonous look- alikes) and they are delicious.

      I know where some pop every year...right behind my kid's primary school! They have a lot of wooded area, some of which they use for Forest School (where the students get to explore and learn in nature) and another area next to a field where they do outdoor sports and such on nice days. The lightly wooded area along the field section also runs alongside the back path into the school. Right at the bottom, on the other side of the fence, I have always noticed a good grouping of them. They are quite massive, frilly, beautiful mushrooms! I haven't noticed them yet this year, hopefully they'll be up after the kids return next week from half term. Too bad I can't get to them!

      They are delicious! I found 4 or 5 that turned inky before I finally found a bunch that were all just right for eating,

    Please provide a non-HD version. My laptop was struggling throughout. The topic is cool (as usual) but I missed half the visuals as my screen would just freeze.

      Same issue, I think RUclips automatically provides the lower qualities but it takes time, so I reckon this video is newly uploaded (as opposed to uploaded earlier and not published till now) and hasn't had time for the lower quality options to be engaged.

    • @thebrainscoop
      @thebrainscoop  4 года назад +9

      We normally upload a file in 1080 but RUclips was compressing the footage so poorly it was unwatchable. Tried everything to get around it, finally we had to export a 4k version, upload it through Google Photos (what) and then import it into RUclips. And yes, this was published within an hour after upload so hopefully it will provide lowres versions soon.

      is your laptop from this decade?

    • @dscrive
      @dscrive 4 года назад +1

      @@MikeDawson1 Yes, but lots of people have older machines, are on restricted data plans, want to watch at 2x, or don't care about 4k video.
      Also, while my machine is from this decade, I specifically bought it to handle nothing more than 1080 30fps, it'll struggle through higher defs, but it really doesn't like it.

      They said on a comment further up they were having issues uploading it and had to upload the 4k version, it was uploaded and published within an hour so the auto low-res options didn't get an opportunity to apply themselves
