Any religious system that believes a fiery pit of torture awaits all unrepentant sinners and non-believers post-mortem (such as fundamentalist Christianity and fundamentalist Islam) is not worth following. There can only be one reason why anybody would follow either of these two religious creeds and that is out of fear. Anybody who thinks that a pit of torture is in some way just or loving needs their head examined. By the way, not all religions believe in hell fire and damnation for sinners post-mortem. The Jews don't believe it for a start, as it's not mentioned in their scriptures. The Father sent Jesus because we are all sinners from birth and we were all in need of a saviour. And since God is just, he can’t just let us go away without any punishment because of the sins we have committed, meaning that the only way we can be free of punishment is if someone paid the fine for us and that’s where Jesus comes in. We are all guilty of sin and deserve to go to hell, so God sends Jesus to save us by receiving the punishment that we deserve on the cross(paying the fine)

The Quran has a scientific mistake that cannot be refuted. Islam I know you've seen this Argument several times, but the comments always have some explanation that I never found satisfying. So I'll go over all of them. So let's start with the problem that everyone points out first in Quran 18:86. This is the verse that claims the sun sets in a warm muddy spring. حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغَ مَغْرِبَ ٱلشَّمْسِ وَجَدَهَا تَغْرُبُ فِى عَيْنٍ حَمِئَةٍۢ وَوَجَدَ عِندَهَا قَوْمًۭا "Until, when he reached the setting of the sun [i.e., the west], he found it [as if] setting in a body of dark water,1 and he found near it a people." I copied this from the first page you will find when you search this Ayah. The problem I have with this verse is how the translation tries to deceive you. You probably didn't catch it so ill translate this word for word. حَتَّىٰٓ=Untill إِذَا=When بَلَغَ=He reached مَغْرِبَ=Setting place ٱلشَّمْسِ=The Sun وَجَدَهَا=He found it تَغْرُبُ=Setting فِى=In عَيْنٍ=Spring حَمِئَةٍۢ="I don't have an exact word but it's describing "muddy وَوَجَدَ= And he found عِندَهَا=Near it/Around it قَوْمًۭا=People/Comunity/Race If you didn't catch it, no where in this translation does it say " He thought" he saw it. However, We do have a verse in the Quran where people thought they saw something, it's in Quran 4:157. It talks about how the people that crucified Jesus boasted that they had killed him, but the Quran says it was made to appear to them, or they thought they say it. The argument I always hear, is essentially, "He saw the reflection of the sun on the sea and thought it was literally setting in the sea". Two problems arise, the first I just covered which is, No, he didn't think he saw it. He literally saw it entering a warm body of water. The second problem is, it doesn't say sea. It says a spring. The Arabic word عَيْنٍ means spring. Not ocean. On average, Springs aren't large enough to mistake a Sunset as a literal place where the sun set. Even the world's largest spring, the Wakulla spring isn't large enough to mistake it. The third problem, and the one that puts the nail in the coffin is Sunan Abi Dawud 4002. Narrated Abu Dharr: I was sitting behind the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) who was riding a donkey while the sun was setting. He asked: Do you know where this sets ? I replied: Allah and his Apostle know best. He said: It sets in a spring of warm water (Hamiyah). حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَعُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ، - الْمَعْنَى - قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عُتَيْبَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، قَالَ كُنْتُ رَدِيفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَهُوَ عَلَى حِمَارٍ وَالشَّمْسُ عِنْدَ غُرُوبِهَا فَقَالَ " هَلْ تَدْرِي أَيْنَ تَغْرُبُ هَذِهِ " . قُلْتُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ . قَالَ " فَإِنَّهَا تَغْرُبُ فِي عَيْنِ حَامِيَةٍ " . And before you comment how it's not authentic, it's Sahih. Here's a link to prove it Now, to add to this, the most important point is when we look at the early Tafsirs. What the people of Ancient time thought. Tafsir Mujahid. (Written 104 Hijra) This was written around 90 years after the death of the prophet. It essentially says the same thing as what's written, that the sun sets in a Muddy Spring. 2. Tafsir Gahreeb Al Quran (Written 120 Hijra) Also talks about how the Sun sets in a muddy spring. 3. Muqatil Bin Sulaiman (Written 150 Hijra) Nothing new. 4. Tafsir Sufyan Al-Thawri( 161 hijra) Essentially the same thing 5. Tafsir AbdulRazaq Al Sanaani (211 Hijra) Essentially the same thing 6. Tafsir Al Quran Al Tustari (283 Hijra) Essentially the same thing 7. Tafsir Al Hibri (286 Hijra) Essentially the same thing 8. Tafsir Furat al Kufi (300 hijra) Essentially the same thing 9. Tafsir Al Hiwari (300 Hijra) Essentially the same thing 10. Tafsir Al Nisa'I ( 303 Hijra) Essentially the same thing 11. Tafsir Al Tabari. (310 Hijra) This Tafsir is arguably the best tafsir in the Muslim world. Tabari took around 15 narrations from early Islam to describe this Ayah alone. The prophet's companions all agreed that the Sun literally Set in a spring. The only argument is what type of spring it was. Whether it was a warm spring, a muddy spring a black spring or all of the above. Now im going to skip a little bit forward from the 11th Tafsir, which was written in 310 Hijra to the 20th Tafsir, Tafsir Al Mawirdi which was written 450 Hijra. This is the one that Sujests as a second opinion that this verse might not be literal. That maybe Dul Qarnayn THOUGHT he saw it that way. But this was merely " Just a second opinion" in the Authors own words. However, Finally, at Tafsir 21, Tafsir Al Tibyan Al Tusi, written at 460 Hijra, 450 years AFTER the prophet's death, is the one that claims this wasn't literal. It took Muslim Scholars 460 to finnally figure it out. by the Way, this is the Tafsir i used. Its the best Tafsir website that I personally know of. Unfortunately, its in Arabic so you'll have to excuse me for that. In Conclusion, this Surah shows us that Islam claims the sun sets in a Spring, a belief that was held for hundreds of years. By the Prophet through his Hadiths, by the Sahaba(Prophets companions) and by many early scholars. TLDR: Quran has a Scientific error, Modern Scholars say it's a Metaphor/ nor literal, they are proven wrong by original arabic translation, Multiple sahih hadiths, and the Tafsirs/Early Scholars commentary such as Ibn Tabari.

I know you've seen this Argument several times, but the comments always have some explanation that I never found satisfying. So I'll go over all of them.
So let's start with the problem that everyone points out first in Quran 18:86. This is the verse that claims the sun sets in a warm muddy spring. حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغَ مَغْرِبَ ٱلشَّمْسِ وَجَدَهَا تَغْرُبُ فِى عَيْنٍ حَمِئَةٍۢ وَوَجَدَ عِندَهَا قَوْمًۭا
"Until, when he reached the setting of the sun [i.e., the west], he found it [as if] setting in a body of dark water,1 and he found near it a people."
I copied this from the first page you will find when you search this Ayah. The problem I have with this verse is how the translation tries to deceive you. You probably didn't catch it so ill translate this word for word.
حَتَّىٰٓ=Untill إِذَا=When بَلَغَ=He reached مَغْرِبَ=Setting place ٱلشَّمْسِ=The Sun وَجَدَهَا=He found it تَغْرُبُ=Setting فِى=In عَيْنٍ=Spring حَمِئَةٍۢ="I don't have an exact word but it's describing "muddy وَوَجَدَ= And he found عِندَهَا=Near it/Around it قَوْمًۭا=People/Comunity/Race
If you didn't catch it, no where in this translation does it say " He thought" he saw it.
However, We do have a verse in the Quran where people thought they saw something, it's in Quran 4:157. It talks about how the people that crucified Jesus boasted that they had killed him, but the Quran says it was made to appear to them, or they thought they say it.
The argument I always hear, is essentially, "He saw the reflection of the sun on the sea and thought it was literally setting in the sea".
Two problems arise, the first I just covered which is, No, he didn't think he saw it. He literally saw it entering a warm body of water.
The second problem is, it doesn't say sea. It says a spring. The Arabic word عَيْنٍ means spring. Not ocean. On average, Springs aren't large enough to mistake a Sunset as a literal place where the sun set. Even the world's largest spring, the Wakulla spring isn't large enough to mistake it.
The third problem, and the one that puts the nail in the coffin is Sunan Abi Dawud 4002.
Narrated Abu Dharr:
I was sitting behind the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) who was riding a donkey while the sun was setting. He asked: Do you know where this sets ? I replied: Allah and his Apostle know best. He said: It sets in a spring of warm water (Hamiyah).

And before you comment how it's not authentic, it's Sahih. Here's a link to prove it
Now, to add to this, the most important point is when we look at the early Tafsirs. What the people of Ancient time thought.
Tafsir Mujahid. (Written 104 Hijra)
This was written around 90 years after the death of the prophet. It essentially says the same thing as what's written, that the sun sets in a Muddy Spring.
2. Tafsir Gahreeb Al Quran (Written 120 Hijra)
Also talks about how the Sun sets in a muddy spring.
3. Muqatil Bin Sulaiman (Written 150 Hijra) Nothing new.
4. Tafsir Sufyan Al-Thawri( 161 hijra) Essentially the same thing
5. Tafsir AbdulRazaq Al Sanaani (211 Hijra) Essentially the same thing
6. Tafsir Al Quran Al Tustari (283 Hijra) Essentially the same thing
7. Tafsir Al Hibri (286 Hijra) Essentially the same thing
8. Tafsir Furat al Kufi (300 hijra)
Essentially the same thing
9. Tafsir Al Hiwari (300 Hijra) Essentially the same thing
10. Tafsir Al Nisa'I ( 303 Hijra) Essentially the same thing
11. Tafsir Al Tabari. (310 Hijra)
This Tafsir is arguably the best tafsir in the Muslim world. Tabari took around 15 narrations from early Islam to describe this Ayah alone. The prophet's companions all agreed that the Sun literally Set in a spring. The only argument is what type of spring it was. Whether it was a warm spring, a muddy spring a black spring or all of the above.
Now im going to skip a little bit forward from the 11th Tafsir, which was written in 310 Hijra to the 20th Tafsir, Tafsir Al Mawirdi which was written 450 Hijra. This is the one that Sujests as a second opinion that this verse might not be literal. That maybe Dul Qarnayn THOUGHT he saw it that way. But this was merely " Just a second opinion" in the Authors own words.
However, Finally, at Tafsir 21, Tafsir Al Tibyan Al Tusi, written at 460 Hijra, 450 years AFTER the prophet's death, is the one that claims this wasn't literal. It took Muslim Scholars 460 to finnally figure it out.
by the Way, this is the Tafsir i used. Its the best Tafsir website that I personally know of. Unfortunately, its in Arabic so you'll have to excuse me for that.
In Conclusion, this Surah shows us that Islam claims the sun sets in a Spring, a belief that was held for hundreds of years. By the Prophet through his Hadiths, by the Sahaba(Prophets companions) and by many early scholars.
TLDR: Quran has a Scientific error, Modern Scholars say it's a Metaphor/ nor literal, they are proven wrong by original arabic translation, Multiple sahih hadiths, and the Tafsirs/Early Scholars commentary such as Ibn Tabari.
To top it off. It says He "reached". If It is about metaphorical sense You cant reach it cause it sets and rises everywhere

Why did Aisha say "I feel that your Lord hastens in fulfilling your wishes and desires" to Mohammed!? Because she was his wife and knew full well that some of Muhammad’s revelations from Allah just happened to conveniently approve whatever it was Muhammad wanted to do at the time. She was coyly mocking Muhammad’s numerous convenient, self-serving, revelations from Allah. She was not happy with him, at the time, and what she said was a discreet blasphemy: implying that Muhammad was making up revelations to suit his own needs.
In the particular case you cite in your question, earlier revelation (Surah An-Nisa [4:3]) said that you can have up to four wives but you must treat them equally. But Muhammad developed favorite (i.e., younger) wives that he preferred sex with. This caused dissension among the ranks of his wives. In response, Muhammad received a convenient revelation (Surah Al-Ahzab [33:51]) that excused him (and only him) from Allah’s demand that you treat all wives equally.
"You (Muhammad) can postpone (the turn of) whom you will of them (your wives), and you may receive whom you will. And whomsoever you desire of those whom you have set aside (her turn temporarily), it is no sin on you (to receive her again), that is better; that they may be comforted and not grieved, and may all be pleased with what you give them. God knows what is in your hearts. And God is Ever All-Knowing, Most Forbearing."
Muhammad also received revelations that:
allowed only him to have more than four wives (Surah Al-Ahzab [33:50])allowed him to marry his stepson’s wife, Zaynab (considered incestuous in Arab culture at that time), after his stepson divorced her (Surah Al-Ahzab [33:37])chastised his wives for giving him a hard time about having sex with his Coptic slave, Mary (Surah At-Tahrim [66:1-5])
Conflict resolution via convenient revelations from God.

Narrated Aisha:
I used to look down upon those ladies who had given themselves to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and I used to say, "Can a lady give herself (to a man)?" But when Allah revealed: "You (O Muhammad) can postpone (the turn of) whom you will of them (your wives), and you may receive any of them whom you will; and there is no blame on you if you invite one whose turn you have set aside (temporarily).' (33.51) I said (to the Prophet), "I feel that your Lord hastens in fulfilling your wishes and desires."

And that is the one whose menstruation has stopped due to her older age. Her `Iddah is three months instead of the three monthly cycles for those who menstruate, which is based upon the Ayah in (Surat) Al-Baqarah. see 2:228 The same for the young, who have not reached the years of menstruation. Their `Iddah is three months like those in menopause. This is the meaning of His saying;
