On this special episode of the SSPX Interview Series, we're joined by Fr. Patrick Summers, the District Superior of Asia for the Society of St. Pius X. Father Summers shares some of the unique challenges and stories of the life of Tradition in the missions and encourages us to pray that the Lord send more laborers into the vineyard.
You can find our previous episodes at sspxpodcast.com. There as well, you can find a link to help support this project. This is free to listen to, as well as all the resources we’re posting, but if you can help with a one time or a small monthly recurring donation, you’ll be making sure that we can continue this work of producing good Catholic content on a regular basis.
Listen now to hear how the Society keeps the Archbishop's missionary spirit alive around the world, and how the treasures of the Catholic Church continue to bear fruit today.

Excited for your visit this April, Fr. 💖
It is unbelievable what these priest in the Asian District go through. They sacrifice so much! Makes the crazy traveling that American and European SSPX priests go through seem like peanuts in comparison! They are truly following in the footsteps of the missionary spirit of our founder Abp Lefebvre. God bless them for it! Hopefully many more young people will take up the call and join them to help save souls who have no one else around to preach them the Gospel.
Great post : thankyou for putting so well in words what many of us think.
God bless the Society of Saint Pius X and God bless the Interview Series. Praying for more holy priests.✝️
I love listening to Fr. Summers' homily when I attended mass in Malaysia and Singapore.
My wife and I met Fr Patrick Summers in Singapore in August 2023. Wonderful priest
We asked him how we can help build a SSPX chapel in the Philippines particularly in the province of Albay, Bicol region.
His answer was, SSPX is short of priests so it may take at least 2 years before we can have a priest there.
So we'll just use our resources to help out at Our Lady of Victories church in New Manila, Quezon city. And also the Novitiate in Iloilo.
In your charity, please include Asia in your prayers for SSPX community to thrive there.
Thank you and God bless you all!
Fr Summers is a holy priest. God bless and protect him everywhere he goes.
I love listening to Fr Gomis' homilies on SSPX Asia's channel.
Fr Gomis is very good in preaching! It is a blessing for us to have him here!
Agree. He is the best in the Singapore priory.
Thank you dear Father Patrick Summers😇🙏 for this interview which greatly praises the work and Holiness of Monsignor Lefebvre in the world😇🙏❤
Laudate Iesu Christi!
Please, pray for the possibility of FSSPX mission in Taiwan.
Perfect timing for the feast of St Francis Xavier. Oh Lord, grant us many holy priests!
I am so grateful I found SSPX a true Catholic Faith. Praise to you Oh Lord Jesus Christ.
Same here!
Met Fr Summers recently, much love & many prayers from Michigan, Fr!
Shout-out from Sspx Singapore! 🙏
It took me a few years to overcome misinformation I received about the Society. Getting to know the priests up close has shown me how well-formed they are.
🙏🙏 from Singapore
My family was born and raised through Novus Ordo, so as our children. My husband and I discovered SSPX TLM just nine years ago. Unfortunately our parents, siblings and relatives are still attending Mass through Novus Ordo. Our children, our sons in-law, daughter-in-law and our grandson are not attending Mass or visit the Blessed Sacrament anymore. My husband and I will never give up on our family especially our children’s faith, just like St Monica (mother of St Augustine). The very first time we attended the TLM was in Maria Stella Maris Mission in San Pedro, CA. Fr Luke was our priest out there. We met Fr Thomas Onoda in Tokyo Japan last August and we attended one Sunday Mass there celebrated by him. We met also Fr Summers in Priory of Saint Pius X Singapore last August 24. We attended Holy Mass, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and vespers. And we stayed in Manila, Philippines for almost the whole month of September. We’re really blessed attending almost daily Masses and Sunday Masses there. We are going back to the Philippines in January to April 2024. Thank God for this interview with Fr Summers, we’ll volunteer to help on medical mission in March. We love to observe and attend the Lenten Season services in the Philippines. Praying hard for conversion! God bless!
I would love to see a video with the Asian Superior about the idea of opening seminaries in Asia. For example a seminary in Taiwan to prepare for the conversion of China.A seminary in South Korea to work for the conversion of the Korean Peninsula.A seminary in India to train native born Indian priests. In addition opening novitiates for the SSPX Sisters,Franciscan Teaching Sisters,Consoling Sisters of the Sacred Heart,French Dominican teaching Sisters in the same countries to bring in native speaking vocations.I know these are pie in the sky goals but with God nothing is impossible!🙏🏻
Thanks!
Please share this far and wide! God grant us many holy Priests and Religious!
Father said it best: Learning the Reality of Divine Providence!
Thank you for interviewing priests from other districts.
Thank you for these insights Father. May God grant this world many, many more Holy Priests and may the laity be blessed to give generous support.
Im from Philippines. Never heard of TLM until i discovered SSPX in 2013. You are on point Fr.
Он действительно хороший священник! Очень рада видеть нашего священника на официальном канале youtube! Да благословит Бог о. Саммерс и работа архиепископа Лефевра!
Great information! Thank you, Father. Do you have a direct link to the Rosa Mystica Mission for anyone interested in participating medically?
SSPX is in Singapore?
I lived there for a year!
Between 2000 and 2001
Yes of course! Theres mass almost twice daily
can we donate not using PayPal?
Yes! We send money to the Asian Missions thru Fr. Summers’ parents here in the States. They put it straight into Father’s bank account. We write Donation/gift for SSPX Missions in the memo. He was just here in St. Marys. Beautiful!

Ah; the detractors are surfacing like crocodiles; trying their chances to destroy the (indestructible Church).
all along they were hiding hiding under rocks waiting for their chances to strike...Was it not the method Judas chose...
Many are called; but few are chosen.
59:00 “God is calling souls, but people are not picking up the phone”. It’s not that they’re not picking up the phone, it’s more likely they don’t recognise the ringtone. Catholic Catechism in the West has almost been nonexistent, most young people don’t even have bare bones Catholic theology, the average priest in the West is around 65 years of age. If young people are not overwhelming the Western Church with religious vocations, which is more comfortable, how will they migrate to Asia which is 10x harder?
Well, that’s the norm for Novus Ordo Catholic Churches, but not the norm for traditional Catholic Chapels.
I hope he practices more charity
What are you talking about 🤷
Lol. You should practice what you've heard in the sermons preached to you. 😂
You are one of the most ungrateful parishioners we've met in the history of SSPX Asia. 😂
@@sspxolvcsermons Totally agree 👍
