This is pretty much a product of Dave Filoni and George Lucas, from the 1977-2011 era of Lucasfilm Ltd. The Mandalorian also falls in to a very similar category, since it's primarily created by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, BOTH of whom worked on The Clone Wars in early 2007. This show, SW: Rebels, and The Mandalorian very much represent George's legacy...

It's the textbook definition of 'the calm before the storm' and made every Star Wars fan worth their salt utter the phrase "I've got a bad feeling about this". I think having so much breathing space in this episode really helped to build the tension, especially considering nearly the whole audience knew what was about to happen. This quadrilogy of episodes are some the finest TV ever made and even gives a lot of movies a run for their money. It's funny looking back at when Clone Wars was in it's infancy, the movie had come out to test the waters and when I went to see it on opening day, there were 5 people (myself and my friend included) in the theater. Everyone thought it was going to be garbage and was just a quick cash-grab to get a last little bit of prequel-era hype money. Oh, how they were wrong.

Your comment about the shuttle that too Ahsoka and Maul to the Venator, that shuttle is called a Nu-class shuttle and it has been modified so much compared to the beginning of the Clone Wars. Also, I think it's poetic that the same type of shuttle that introduced her to Anakin and Obi-Wan in The Clone Wars movie is the one that takes her to the place that will "Shatter" would her world.
the part of this episode that really broke my heart, was when Rex fired on his own brothers, especially how so often in the series the moral of the story, and a huge focus was brotherhood, after all that, this is really sad, can't wait for the tributes

I think the subdued music worked well, as it wasn't passion that was driving Maul at this point, it was just simmering anger and hatred.
Awesome review, and rad episode. The music just took you back to Ep 3. The starting music reminded me of the track "Padme's Ruminations". The tie ins to Revenge of the Sith was outstanding. It was a moving episode and glad they mentioned Fives. Yet, this all led to to something far greater, and that the Galactic Empire and Palpatine becoming Emperor. I can't wait until Monday for the final ep.

Maybe show what happens between each episode during the original trilogy. Stuff that has been explored through the EU (which I havent really read up on). This episode cements the fact that the standard clone troopers had no choice but to follow order 66. You can see that Rex tries incredibly hard to resist the order but he ultimately can’t because of the inhibitor chip. Which makes it so much more sad then it already is. In all honesty some clones had it worse than the Jedi did during and after order 66 because they couldn’t help it and after it was all said and done some clones (Idk how many) had to live with the guilt and pain of the horror they have committed. It’s not their fault.
MAce Windus Arrogance was a huge part of the whole Story. It could have gone different, if he would have just taken the Chosen one with him when confronting the Evil Sith Lord. Instead he told him to stay back and took 3 redshirts with him. Lost an arm for that one. And the republic as well. Or he couild have just talked with Snips here, who would have told him what Maul said and they might have figured it out soon enough.But,that how the story goes.
I think there is no point in trying to guess what "shattered" refers to. It is a split point, a before and after Christ, a gruesome moment of simultaneous pain and violence across the galaxy. Everything is shattered. The galactic republic, the jedi order, the clones minds, the heart of Anakin, the force itself. Everything is shattered.
After the sequels overall left a sour taste in my mouth I feel like this is my ending to the skywalker saga with how intense and emotional it is, feels SOO much better. I just wish the finale was 3 hours long, I'd be SOOO excited with anything over 1/2 hour,

I wrote an entire script for a Star Wars film that will most likely never be made, but I just wanted to let you know, I based two characters off you and your lady, Oden Ras & Croi Fascia.
It was so sad when Rex was crying telling the other troopers to let him kill Ahsoka and she was asking him what was happening and what he was doing. Never seen Rex cry before. Then when he told her to find Fives while shooting at her. 😭 And I was so pissed when Mace called her citizen. I mean, he didn't have to tell her, but he could have called her by name instead of citizen. 😠
The show isnt chronological. Theres still a chance they will continue the show by adding arcs in afterward. If not we atleast still got an amazing end to the series.

The clone Wars have ended unless they would like to show more of the events during episode 3 from different perspectives. Would have been nice to see Ki Adi Mundi and Aayla Secura and Plo Koon just moments before Order 66 was declared.
