    Hi, longer ago I got the SD Card Adapter, so I can store my game-saves from the Dreamcast. Game-saves that go way back to the early 2000s.
    Now I have 11 VMS game-saves and don't know what to do with them.
    I bought my Dreamcast in 1999 when it came out. I guess that makes me a true Dreamcast OG! 😄
    The days of the Dreamcast hardware are numbered though. Even if you stash it away and hardly ever use it. I have an HDMI cable too, but using the Dreamcast hardware is just clunky and impractical.
    Compared to....an emulator like redream. I discovered redream a while ago. I think it's a masterpiece! How easy and flawless it works. This is literally keeping the Dreamcast alive. I bought me a Xbox controller in Robot White, reminiscent of the original Dreamcast controller. 🙂
    The frustrating downside of redream is, that I have no idea how to load a game-save. Loading a game-save would be so important.
    Thumbs up for the videos with your gaming expertise. 🙂👍

    I have 2 questions.
    1. Can you export vmu saves in a folder in the sd card?
    2. Can you put .vmi files onto the vmu from the sd card?
    Thanks.

    Will this method enable me to move the locked phantasy star online 2 main save data from one vmu to another? Then i can copy over the guild card to the new vmu and restore my character using the new vmu?

    Hey so I actually have a GameCube related question and didn’t know the best way to reach out to find answers but here’s nothin! So with a Japanese GameCube that has a GC-Loader already in it, would you have to put a region switch in it to save Japanese games to a memory card since Japanese saves differently that American saves do or since the GC-Loader is region free do I not need to region switch my GameCube?

    • @HalfCircleForward
      @HalfCircleForward 3 года назад +1

      No problem! You won’t have any issues with game saves regardless of what region console you’re running, wit you will need a separate memory cards for each region, so one for Japanese and one for US saves. Just make sure you keep track of which is which and have the right one in your console for the region of game you’re playing. If you get an SD2SP2 and install that as well, it’ll allow you to use the virtual memory card feature and will create separate virtual memory cards for each region that will auto load when you pick your game, so that’s super straight forward (I did a video on that a while ago). Hope that helps, give me a shout if you have any other questions!

      That or gdemu actually having a virtual memory card that saves on the sd card.
      The Everdrive 64 is a great example of that with its "backup" feature - i.e. it dumps the whole Memory Pak before loading a game, it restores the previous save for that game, it loads the game and that's it, when you play any game it is like having a brand new Memory Pak full of free space.
      You have also OPL on PS2 that emulates a memory card, which works okay.
      The point is, we should be entitiled to have only one VMU and that's it.

    • @RevoltsRevelation
      @RevoltsRevelation 2 года назад +2

      @@RottenMuLoT finally someone talks about that. I thought of the same. There has to be a way. And I don't care about the display or the GameBoy functions as long as you get endless saves. You can have the "VMU Pro" on the second port and use a normal VMU on the first port to get the display functions. 8bitmods did it before with the MemCard Pro and that blew my mind. They really should do a VMU next.
