Another great source of land data is from the state environmental department, free of charge. For your subject property, check out the maps and layers available at: www.mcgi.state.mi.us/environmentalmapper/# Here you can use layers, including: Plat, Land Use, Topo, Land Use Restrictions, Environmental Management and others.
There are 7 soil drainage classes. In order of driest to wettest they are: excessively drained, somewhat excessively drained, well drained, moderately well drained, somewhat poorly drained, poorly drained, and very poorly drained.
Thanks! I did watch your first video about Wetlands before discovering this one, very clear, easy to understand and important info. I do have one question though if you don't mind. What are you using with Google Earth to view property lines in blue? I don't plan on using it for precise measurements but it would be a big help if you could tell me what it was.
Absolutely! I'm using a service called Parlay 2.0 for that (it's an annual subscription that costs $299). You can see more info on it here: retipster.com/parlay
Hey Seth. Thanks for making this video. Just realized I just sent out a mailer to a county with a ton of wetlands. Now I know how to spot them. Looks like the wetland mapper also has a kml file you can import into google earth as well. Hopefully you didn't already mention that and I missed it. Super helpful videos! www.fws.gov/wetlands/data/google-earth.html
