    This is pleasantly surprising. I am from England, and a car like this, priced well would do very well over here and in Europe. I would certainly buy an Indian built car over a Chinese built one. This actually looks decent quality for the price.

      Oh yes, just seen on autocar UK. It's a Fiat derived diesel, ZF derived power steering system so actually quite mechanically sophisticated. Put it this way, and I mean this in the nicest way, if the car is tough enough for India conditions, it's tough enough for anywhere. Like I said, I would rather drive this than a Chinese death trap.

      If you have seen the autocar crash test of the tata nano, the structure held up incredibly well. The Indians are not Chinese, and care slightly more for human life than they do. This car uses ZF technology such as the steering and Chrysler Fiat engines. I still think it looks a wonderful little car, would not look out of place in Europe.

    It has been an year since the day I bought this car. It's zest XM 1.2 revtron . I was a little afraid while chosing this car as it was a new attempt by Tata . But this car has totally won my heart and I am happy that I chose this car. This car is really good to drive and way more comfortable than my previous car (dzire). Interiors are good as you saw in the video. Connectivity in this infotainment system is a classy feature . we've got Bluetooth, USB, aux and standard FM and AM options. Nicely laid out interiors. Comfortable and enjoyable ride. No other car could have made me happier . Thank You
    - A proud Zest Owner 😉

    Nice review.I am driving a petrol ZEST for the last one year.I almost agree with the reviewer,s version.This is probably the best car in the segment.Given the provision of much better space than its competitors,the car consuming marginally more fuel is no problem.Good Car.Only Ford Aspire can compete.

    Personally as an Indian i have always patronised Indian cars. But time and again they have let me down. The engines don't last beyond one lacks or so.
    Tata need to improve on this. Have the mahindra xuv which is nothing more than a heap of complaints. My brother in law has innova and he has not had even a single minor snag the last 5 years.
    So indians and chinese are still working at superficial levels even with something so technically simple as a car, while the japanese and germans have done the real engineering. Their cars are expensive but reliable.

    • @bellicromanx
      @bellicromanx 10 лет назад

      Agree about the Japanese reliability esp. Toyota. Their engines are like bulletproof. Coming to the Germans, yes, their engineering is great, but their reliability is pathetic (e.g DSG). Their cars have high failure rates here in India. Even their expensive 30L+ models have high rates of failure of various components.
      Japanese and German reliability are like polar opposites here in India. The arrogant and poor after sales support of the Germans add salt to the injury.

    • @atulgokuyamaha7
      @atulgokuyamaha7 10 лет назад +2

      bellicromanx
      Germans has the best reliability in the world now........What are u talking about man......I have seen people own German cars more than 10 years........Off course these cars were expensive but super reliable........These chrome lines,fit n finish,alloy wheels, all are German innovations.......

    • @bellicromanx
      @bellicromanx 10 лет назад +1

      Atul Goku German innovations, engineering etc. are great no doubt. Many of the German cars are reliable. But there are also many others that are pretty unreliable as well. German cars are becoming increasingly unreliable these days, at lease they are far from what can be called as having the best reliabilty. It's the Japanese whose cars are known for the best reliability almost worldwide. Many surveys have shown the same outcome. Dig some stuff through the internet and you'll know how German reliability stands these days.

    Removing "Indica" batch before the model name is the best move, Tata has taken in to account. The interiors and exterior dynamics are very well done by Tata even though it carries some of the Vista DNA. Very well done by Tata Engineers, I hope this car will take Tata to next levels.
    Hey "AUTOCAR" guys does Zest Diesel-Manual variant also comes with three driving modes or its just petrol variant.

    No one does a review better than Autocar. In other reviews, it has been said that in 1.2 petrol engine, when we put in sports mode there is a surge of power. Is this not really noticeable and not much different from default city mode? I m live in a hilly place and planning to get a car under 7 lakhs,and all I m looking for is performance, power and driving dynamics, could you suggest a good car besides swift as I own one?

    Whenever any Indian brand launch a new car it only change "headlight and the sidelight"!!
