  • This video is the first I am doing in a series about pile weaving techniques. I am following along with Jean Wilson's book The Pile Weaves and learning each one of the 26 techniques included. The first is the Ghiordes Knot and this video shows me doing the regular version and the upside-down version.
You can read more about my pile weaving learning process on my blog at www.thenotionsb...
This is not exactly meant to be a tutorial video, it is meant more as a demonstration of the techniques and how I do each one. However, if you would like more information about this or any other technique, please leave a comment here or on my blog and I'd be happy to try to help any way I can.

Hi! This is the Turkish knot (gödres) what is used in Oriental (persian) rugs. But the weavers who made oriental rugs knot it in very different (and much more faster) way. The result is the same as te regular version here. It looks like fancy with geomatrical patterns, but it is used in floral petterns too, depends on the tradition of the area or the weaver. Keep the good working! :)
