I would have no problem granting broad autonomy to the non-hungarian population of transcarpathia.
The hungarian parts gets incorporated into the hungarian county system, the rest will become an autonomous territory.
Fun fact: Hungary actually wanted to create such an area after it was regained, but the entrance into the second world war put a "hold" on these plans.

No, Transcarpathia will remain Ukrainian.
I also remind you of something, brother. In 1848-1849, 60,000 Slovak national guardsmen fought in the Hungarian national army, and mainly Slovak national guardsmen defeated the traitor Vladim Stur's army of a few thousand, or you didn't know that, my brother. Between 1914 and 1919, 170,000 Slovak soldiers fought on the battlefields of the Great War and against the Czech aggression in Upper Hungary. Some more relevant quotes: Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk (1850-1937), the first president of Czechoslovakia (1918-1935): "We had to choose between the creation of Czechoslovakia or the referendum." Masaryk knew very well that in case of a referendum, Upper Hungary would have remained Hungarian. Father Andrej Hlinka (1864-1938), the leader of the largest Slovak party, the Slovak People's Party, said the following on June 4, 1925: "Let the memory of the Hungarian homeland float in the hearts of all of us, because during a thousand years of Hungarian rule we did not suffer as much as the Czech during the six years of my rule." David Lloyd George, Earl Lloyd-George of Dwyfor (1863-1945), British Prime Minister (1916-1922), said in his speech on October 7, 1929: "The entire documentation that our allies put at our disposal during the peace negotiations was a fraud and a lie. " In several cases in history, Hungary was divided even for a longer period of time, but it became one that belongs to one. That historic situation will come - a moment when a country will be created again from the ridge of the Carpathians to the Adriatic. Why? Because a country of 38 million people and 376,000 km2 is less difficult to deal with than many small ones. Economic and military interests bring about reunification. Of course, the name of the new state may be subject to compromise. Confederation, see: USA or Switzerland, Russia (eg: Central European United States or Central European Federation). An arrowhead can be broken with only the strength of the arms, but a handful can no longer be broken with bare hands. There were more Romanian schools in Transylvania during Hungarian rule than now. There was free practice of religion and full equality of nationalities. There were also Romanian, Slovak, Croatian and Serbian representatives in the Hungarian Parliament. Most of the gendarmerie was recruited from the local population, just like the railwaymen and clerks. A Slovak timber merchant from Zólyom and a Romanian timber merchant from Maramaros spoke to each other in Hungarian, because Hungarian was the intermediary language. Since 1918, no country has had circulation gold money in everyday use. Why? Because no successor state was economically as strong as the Kingdom of Hungary. Since then, simply no one can afford to mint gold coins worth millions every year. Please go to Bratislava or Körmöcbány and see a Hungarian gold 10, 20 or 100 kroner coin minted in Körmöcbány. One side shows the king and the other side shows the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Hungary. Where is it now? Like beggars, we pay with copper and nickel coins, be it EURO or HUF. In the old days, only small change was made of base metal. The 1, 2 and 5 kroner coins were also minted from good silver at Körmöcbány. The Kingdom of Hungary in 1914 was not oppressive as many people mistakenly believe. They had three things in common. Military affairs, foreign affairs and the finances to cover them. In addition, anyone did and moved there and worked as they could or as they pleased. Father Hlinka's words were not the product of chance. The difference was evident very quickly, and he and many others obviously saw it. The following story is an excellent example of this. In 1938, when the borders between Czechoslovakia and Hungary were drawn again, in a village adjacent to Kassa inhabited entirely by Slovaks, the border establishment committee did not agree with each other. Finally, they decided that the Slovak mayor of the village should decide what would be good for the village. To the astonishment of the representatives of Czechoslovakia and the Western powers, the Slovak mayor only answered their question: "Do Košíc". This is how the village returned to Hungary after 20 years. The XXI. by the end of the century, there was only one country left in Europe that brutally suppressed its nationalities, and that was Ukraine. it is no coincidence that they are at war and lost approx. 1 million people. (dead, seriously-moderately wounded - those who can no longer fight, disappeared, captured) I believe that goodness is based on righteous deeds and a brave stand for the defenseless. What we decide and do every day makes us good or bad people. Helping others is almost always a more serious challenge than its opposite. This is my opinion on all of this. I try to keep my favorite Bible quote in mind every day, which urges self-control: "Do not boast about tomorrow, because you do not know what that day will bring!" (to you) (Proverbs 27.1.) May God protect you and I wish you good health, my Slovak brother.
Nah it is part of Czechoslovakia

I'm Hungarian, and here is a small correction: "Hazánk része, Kárpátalja köszöntünk!" isn't "Welcome to Transcarpathia, part of our country!" instead, it's "Part of our country, Transcarpathia, we welcome you!", almost as if the singer is talking to Transcarpathia itself. Transcarpathia was originally part of Hungary for a thousand years before 1920. Mostly the Hungarian minority lives there in the cities and settlements built by their ancestors over a thousand years.
On a serious note, in my opinion it should be an independent Rusyn state. If that is not an option, then part of Hungary since none of their neighbors are likely to grant them local autonomy. We Hungarians however understand how it is when a foreign chauvinist state invades your home and refuses to grant you autonomy, so we would be more likely to grant the same favor for the Rusyns. Or at least more likely to receive popular support of such a thing amongst our own population.
@@Baso-sama It really baffles me how Ukraine has skrewed up minority relations so much. All they've had to do was grant basic autonomy and dignity for minorities and all would be fine. But they've insisted on forcing an identity you only find in their heartlands of Galicia on everyone in these overextended borders made by Lenin. I have nothing against them, but more and more I understand why Hungarians, Russians, Poles, etc have a bone to pick

As a Hungarian, I hope that Ruthenia will remain a part of Ukraine.

@@weetbix4497 He refers to the fact that we've handed over a few hundred (500-600) members of the "Carpatian Sich" milita - most of them had Polish citizenship, as they came from Galicia - to the Poles, and a day after were promptly shot by the Poles for treason. Additionally we've summarily executed a small number of Sich Guardsmen, who did not carry any insignia or other marks of identification as partizans.
I don't know too much about the legality of the former, but it seems logical that the Polish laws of the the era forbade any Polish citizen to serve in any foreign armed formation, but the latter was well within our rights, according to the Hague and Geneva conventions.
