I really love that Affiong was the main voice in this video. He will never get the credit he deserves because he’s off camera, but the team pushing forward in things like this, is refreshing.
Yeah. I know Aff decides not to be on camera but a lot of people, including myself, forget that it was Mark and Aff that started RDC. Not Mark/Leland or Mark/Ben or some shit like that.
I’m really glad Aff got his flowers here. Such a beautiful story and I’m sure his great grandparents would be extremely proud of who he has become and what he has accomplished.
I met my wife at my first ever dream con back in 2019. Been together ever since and this year we were able to welcome two beautiful baby girls into the world(If you’re in the Twitter community some of yall seen the pic). Thank you Rdc for everything. My wife and I still love them and I hope to introduce my kids to them when they’re older. Much love, stay blessed.❤
i'm very happy that Affiong is getting his flowers. he gave so much to RDC, but he doesn't get much credit because he isn't in the videos. thank you to RUclips for this one.
I'm a 33 year old Black man, my uncle introduced me to comics, manga and anime back in 97. Back then it was tough being a nerd but being a Black nerd was even social suicide, but it saved my life and kept the hood from taking me under. I'm forever grateful for RDCWorld and other Black artists who gave us a light in the dark.
I'm from Atlanta, GA, and pretty much everyone I knew back then was into anime, including myself. It's been part of the culture since Wu-Tang introduced us to Eastern culture. For me, it was Method Man saying "I'm the true fist of the North Star!" Then looking that up and going nuts at age 15ish, then everyone in the hood talking about Ninja Scroll, to Dragon Ball and Z being part of our everyday lives. This was in the late 90s
Aff and Mark became the unapologetic voice, inspiration, and encouragement for anybody who felt like they couldn't be themself just to fit into society.
Picked up Naruto in 2008 and let me tell you the culture was night and day compared to now. Now we got rappers spitting heat about Naruto...Y'all did it...Y'all really did it...
Maaaaaaaaaan You are NOT lying, it was kinda justified with some of the weirdness in like early 2000s anime, but you couldn't really even talk about anime like that and push it without being clowned. Now you got rappers putting out anime bars, NFL/NBA athletes repping anime and rocking anime merch, even in MMA!! Big brands doing collabs with anime, and more than ever we get worldwide anime movie theatrical releases, its officially mainstream now , i couldn't imagine this 10-12 years ago
The fact Aff got to shine in this is so craaazy to me. Bro really the most underrated talented one. Bro can draw, act, write, produce, direct, edit, and makes dope music! 🔥🔥🔥 RDC is the epitome of Black RUclips!
Had the privilege to meet some of these guys at a con. Didn’t know it was them at first but it’s wild to see the come up. Much love Rdc. You guys are awesome.
This was beautiful and much deserved. These guys are such an inspiration. I have so much respect and love for their craft. Little do they know they have brought me so much laughter and joy that I can't imagine life without their content. I hope they continue to have unprecedented success and continue to change the world. Thank you RDC 💐

Going from making little skits, to multiple series "shows", all the way to founding a successful convention. They really have done crazy good things for the community, and I know they will go even higher. Their latest skits are looking FIRE
Affiong's love for his grandparents or great grandparents really shows just from that hat after he talks about himself. Father being 13 and mother being 16 is heart wrenching.
Yay RDC! :) It was nice getting to hear Affiong's story, he's usually off screen so I appreciate the time put into making him a focal point in the video. He got an opportunity to really share and shine. Thank you all for being you
I know the least about Aff since he's rarely on camera or stream so it was dope to learn about his backstory and the struggles he faced Im so proud of these boys

I am 42. I never had a community to talk about anime with. Grew up without the internet. I still watch anime heavily. I know what he was saying about it not being cool to watch anime and be black during that time. I have a 22-year-old son now and we watch anime and talk about it all the time. Because of people like RDC, breaking the stigma, he found a community of like-minded people that make it ok to be yourself. I appreciate you guys so much for bringing that community out in the open. Great video.
As a Latino channels like RDCworld and Dashie were everything to me. It open the doors for many minorities to be open about just being a nerd. Love to see the impact.

It's crazy just how inspiring this group has been to me. Been keeping up with these guys since they first started out and remembering when those first vids blew up, it really started to change the world of how people perceived anime culture throughout the world. To RDC, y'all inspired me to want to become a voice actor and I'm just starting out in that adventure y'all been helping me. Hope one day to meet y'all and thank you in person when I've finally reached my dream.

So inspiring. I for real remember watching you guys from “when people take anime too far” and would’ve have never guess you are where you are now. And it makes me want to keep creating on days I don’t feel like doing so. Big up @RDCWORLD1
Man. I never met these guys personally and I’m proud of these guys like they’re my own family. Been a fan of RDCWorld1 since Avatar:The Last Hoodbender part 1. You guys represent all of us black nerds that grew up in the 90s and early 2000s, essentially alone. I not only cheered on your success (and still do) but celebrated that there were kids who grew up like me but they found their kindred spirits and started a movement that is so powerful with that friendship (that was not meant to be a “power of friendship” reference lol). You guys honestly give me hope for the internet.
This was such a beautiful video. You deserve all the success you have. I hope you guys get to make an amazing movie that will be talked about for decades one day. It made me tear up at the end, no lie.
It’s very special that Aff is getting the recognition that he deserves. He’s the literal co captain of one of the most iconic collectives on RUclips and while he’s mostly absent and behind the scenes, his quality for the videos makes up for it by a long shot 🔥
I dropped some tears because this is completely relatable. This is how me and my partner are trying to make our way. Life happens but you have to push through. Thanks for making a space for people that look like us RDC
This is soooo dope! I would occasionally see these guys funny videos on IG and never knew their story and that they had their own convention! Truly powerful and inspiring💎
This is actually beautiful to see as a blerd in his 30s. These dudes saw an opening and completely dominated it and continue to make hits that keep us laughing. World Class Creatives right here, glad they got featured.
So proud of these young men. I wanna give Aff a hug. Their story is inspirational to people of all backgrounds and ages. I hope the best for them in the years to come
This whole episode brought a tear to my eyes! I grew up watching these guys for as long as I can remember and so grateful for all they have done. I hope they always remember no matter we RDC for life
I love how big RDC got from when I first started watching. I remember their older skits like “The Perfect QuarterBack”. They were funny to me then and still are now. I forget sometimes that these the same people I used to watch when I was younger because they changed so much for the better. The production value, the comedy, the cinematography everything. They really grew fr.
Man Aff's story is so heartbreaking, but it makes it all the more inspiring that he was able to overcome his circumstances and create something new with his friends.❤
This was a lovely watch. Thanks for sharing. The first thing of theirs that I saw was the vid about what they expect people to do when an Amber Alert goes out. It had me cracking up and also admiring the scope and cinematography.
Honestly being a fan of theirs since nearly the beginning and seeing it all displayed here has left me speechless and I’m not even a member. You can’t help but feel their passion and become emotional with the amount of success they’ve gained, I hope they continue shooting for the stars and creating an even bigger inclusive space for Black people to being authentically themselves!
RDC definitely made a huge impact on black culture. The fact that NFL, NBA stars etc are commenting in public about their anime skits etc shows how much of an impact and that’s just part of it.
When I say I’m so proud of this group of young men it’s not even funny. Anime literally saved my life and to see how far you all have brought it to allow people to be comfortable being fans I thank you and I give you your flowers now. Hopefully I’ll make it to a dream con someday soon and be able to meet you all and say thank you in person you guys are amazingly talented and wish nothing but continued success for you all.
