So he's the real artist behind Clean Bandit. I mean everyone went a little crazy when the violinist left the band but the one that makes most of the songs it's Jack! Great to see how he does it.
Soooo when people talk shit about DJ's that make their own music and feel it's shit.... listen to the chemistry and watch. They obviously know what they're doing. Producers deserve way more respect and recognition.
This is amazing.. It's beautiful and complicated at the same times. I hope more people buy or stream the songs legally to appreciate every musicians' masterpiece.
I agree with you! It is very helpful! I upload also music to my channel I hope you guys could hear it, if you like it subscribe to my channel then :D. Only take one listen and give me a chance ...
My man recorded a real symphony orchestra instead of using a string preset, this guy is putting in more work than 99% of producers out there. Look at how many tracks he has as well, crazy. I love the Korg Polysix, it's invaluable for synthwave music.
No, it's not a sting orchestra. They have a chello player named grace. And at that time, when the song was recorded, they also had a violin player named Neil Milan, but he left he group when the song came out.
Yes, because everyone knows or has an access of an orchestra. Really, sample based orchestra is god sent, you wouldn't really worry about hiring expensive players for you, whe you have the orchestra literally inside your computer, it could also speed up your workflow. I know it's hard to pull a realistic sounding orchestra using vsts, but it's possible, a lot of vst/players are well made and they have lots of articulation to make it sound even more realistic. And yeah, Polysix is da bomb for synthwave, even the fist bass preset is already synthwave-ish, lol.
Not even in the same universe as complex as learning to play the actual instruments. This is utterly depressing. Don't get me wrong, he's obviously talented and working hard. This is just a pastiche of a pastiche of music. It's horrid that the music industry is going this way...
Amar malik worked on this 🤯🤯how I didn't knew this.that guy is genius made hell of brand for himself in India and it's very big thing for clean bandits to work with him .
Ace Of Base! I said it the first time I heard this track! That pop reggae vibe with a strong back beat and airy synths! It certainly worked for Ace Of Base and it is here again.
Those seagulls had me shook! '=o Such a great song! I instantly fell in love with it the first time I heard it! Everything fits together so perfectly... it *really* is a *Genius* song! =D Bravi on that musical piece of mastery to everyone involved in recording and producing! ^_^
To use the tools is very easy... but to come up with the idea for a full song is HARD... the guys is using delay, reverb, compression, and some other effects very basic stuff... but he puts them together right, Genius :)
The original sample he talks about I feel like it’s from the start of Rick Astley-never gonna give you up…I used to sing it in karaoke and the moment he played the sound in the video it instantly hit me
this very software heavy, I am a bedroom producer and have pretty much all of the tools he's showing admittedly the strings recording is not home studio territory, or the mellotron, but you can get emulations of both of these. in summary, you could totally make this tune at home (not to say that he's not a good engineer)
A lot of producers don't like to show how they do things, where they get their samples, or how they work cause they can get sued or swaggarjacked and suddenly they're music isn't special anymore. A good chef never shares his secrets.
Producers deserve way more credits
So much going to these beats
This sir is no beat, this is a instrumental with purpose
@@zaqlowell yes
@@zaqlowell I hate the term "beats"
Producers got royalties and are recognize in awards shows like in Grammys
@@MrVleker well that's their name
finally a producer showing us his workflow and not just soloing tracks,
& glade they used a real string quartet
the band (Clean Bandit) consists mainly of a string quartet, the electronic music is just an addition :D
hmmmm, ehmmm you do know clean bandit are actually a string quartet......🙈 this shits the add on.....😕
@@Nada-by3zz electronic part is cool.
Deconstructed are my favourite videos on RUclips right now. Thanks Genius.
James Don’t forget the New York Times similar series too...
this is genius
HI REBECCA!!!!
literally
@@cobbomusicwhy do you guys say that?*
I have no idea what he's talking about but it's very interesting!!
As someone who understands what he is talking about it is also very interesting!
What is in my mind every time my math teacher comes to class.... _very interesting_

I know u can't even understand this also😂😂
So he's the real artist behind Clean Bandit. I mean everyone went a little crazy when the violinist left the band but the one that makes most of the songs it's Jack! Great to see how he does it.
I personally prefer their sound when Neil was in the band. Their new sound is more like radio friendly and mainstream pop.
@@slowcrusxxh yes, the songs with the violin are more unique and I like them more
grace and luke are the producers too
"Is is Phil Collins?" No, it's Rick Astley.
Exactly my thoughts, but don't think he's ever gonna give him up.
Noir Hare I think it's Tarzan Boy
Tempo and Pitch? You're expecting the sample they're using to have the same tempo / pitch of the original sample?
Well, they're continuing on Against All Odds.
it's fucking rick astley, isn't it. he said it was much wose, fucking rick rolled us in the middle of his own song. clever underdog memes
Soooo when people talk shit about DJ's that make their own music and feel it's shit.... listen to the chemistry and watch. They obviously know what they're doing. Producers deserve way more respect and recognition.
Videos like these are greatly appreciated !!!!!
Dope video, thanks Genius and Jack
Best making of on youtube ever, thanks to Genius camera and editor team, Jack Patterson, you're my new idol now.
This is amazing.. It's beautiful and complicated at the same times. I hope more people buy or stream the songs legally to appreciate every musicians' masterpiece.
"It´s much worse"
To me it sounded like the opener to Never Gonna Give you up.
You could be right.
MadsPY1480 exactly what i thought
MadsPY1480 eastenders
It's not, i can tell you that :P
I'm pretty sure it's Tarzan Boy
genius is deconstructing these productions perfectly giving credit where credit is due and allowing the artists room to explain their process.
This is so cool and very educational.Thank you for showing us this it was really entertaining, now imma listen closely to the instruments
CupcakkeMixes Fantastic, mate!
Like your curiosity!
CupcakkeMixes I agree!
that's what audiophile did. appreciating every detail of the music
I agree with you! It is very helpful!
I upload also music to my channel I hope you guys could hear it, if you like it subscribe to my channel

mommy omg
"I think we muted the viola, it was just too much."
Every violist: ...*sigh*
Producers deserves acknowledgements too!
LOVE to see other producers working. Learn so much!
I can already tell that room sounds amazing
I'm a huge fan of clean bandit, and I promise you, that their older songs from 5+ years ago are sooo much better and unique.
The editing in this video is really nice. I like all the extra info and such :)
Seeing those raw vocals. I love this series

Jack is literally a genius
I really like this dude he doesnt hide to much "secrets" thats really respectable
DO MORE OF THESE PLEASE!!
I met Jack at No Tomorrow festival, he's extremely chill
Wish I could do these things, but damn it's sooo complex..
Not really, you just need to learn.
not really
Not even in the same universe as complex as learning to play the actual instruments. This is utterly depressing. Don't get me wrong, he's obviously talented and working hard. This is just a pastiche of a pastiche of music. It's horrid that the music industry is going this way...
Shut up
MissJessyeNorman Have u ever tried it? Because i have tried producing and learning guitar. learning guitar is easier than producing a track.
thumbs up for the seagulls 😂😂😂
AHH i love the music theory behind everything. Incredible!
2:59 I would listen for this part for the rest of my life
Mourad Eid same
classical music is very soothing and calm. Anyone can listen to a quatret, violin soloist or a pianist for eternity.
Seagulls!! Jack is a legend for producing Clean Bandit’s bangers
My nigga sampled Seagulls.
That harmony is killer
Amar malik worked on this 🤯🤯how I didn't knew this.that guy is genius made hell of brand for himself in India and it's very big thing for clean bandits to work with him .
I think he said ammar malik, he's an American song writter born in Pakistan, he has nothing to do with India.

MORE PRODUCER VIDEOS
I bet the tom sample was from Never Give You Up
came here to say this
*gonna
hear this song on radio at work all the time and it fucking drives me insane
Tom Smith wtf what about Shape Of You!!?
They play the same song 4 times a day. Makes me wanna kill myself, whilst everyone else is smiling and singing along.
Haters
This is all confusing to a beginner like myself but I'm so grateful for this!!!
Just saw Anne-Marie in concert. Was AMAZING!
I can feel the warp stabilization
People need to give producers more credit, music is music.
WOW! This is the coolest thing and the hardest thing I've EVER seen in my whole entire life! You're so talented 😻✨
Is it just me or is anyone else in love with the cello music😩
Those seagulls had me shook! '=o
Such a great song! I instantly fell in love with it the first time I heard it! Everything fits together so perfectly... it *really* is a *Genius* song! =D
Bravi on that musical piece of mastery to everyone involved in recording and producing! ^_^
Can I make a request? Can you also tell us about Symphony?
i love this type of video so much!! it's the kind of thing I always wondered but had zero knowledge about
Thank you for showing us the magic you do. It's real complex work behind this beautifull song.
3:00 17 second of Masterpiece ... 🔥
Finally an ableton user. I've been waiting to see some pro strategies for plugins and whatnot.
To use the tools is very easy... but to come up with the idea for a full song is HARD... the guys is using delay, reverb, compression, and some other effects very basic stuff... but he puts them together right, Genius :)
0:08 i thought i was gonna get rickrolled
Its good to show people that its not as easy as you think

Seagles, that was what I like about this song. And the cello. Nail it.
Ina Wroldsen is the genius here give her more credits
Vid's abt the production, not songwriting
Damn this dude really opened up and broke it down, the raw video is probably like 2 hours
Great Series and very helpful as well
the song just started to play on the radio
As an Ableton user i appreciate this in depth look
they are genius 😍
Not genius, they went to school for all this
Expensive schools lol
Isaias Pérez Shut the fuck up.
when the Ace Of Base explanation banner popped up, I suddenly felt old.
Basically you can't recreate this song at home. lol
If you had a computer and instruments, imagination and patience you can do it, but not like him.
it would take at least a month, with all equipment and a studio, great voice and talent but yeah
Art by Atlas yes if you’re rich then u can buy those plugins
this very software heavy, I am a bedroom producer and have pretty much all of the tools he's showing

in summary, you could totally make this tune at home (not to say that he's not a good engineer)
I mean you could if you knew what you were doing, but you would need a lot of $$ for room treatment, plugins, preamps, great mics (U87), etc..
that seagull sample is genious
He sounds so surprised, as if he was discovering all this right now.
"There's seagulls!"
Wow you can see how much he like what he do
Absolutely beautiful at 2:57
ah. the true genius behind this wonderful tune
The original sample of those gated toms is from 'never gonna give you up' by Rick Ashley
this was so cool to watch
I really enjoyed watching that. Thanks for sharing. I’ve now found a new love for the song again.
And people say that pop music takes no talent... lmao this is so complicated to do
Please more producer videos.
I got a fever... And the only prescription... IS MORE SEAGULLS! lol
thank you so much for sharing these kind of videos; love so much everything about them but above all the producer´s point of view! thank you again!
i swear it sounds better than the final track :')
because when they do mastering they kill the sound
@@alilotfi6916 Do you even know what mastering is?
5:32 Cologne, is that you?
This is actually helpful for A level Music Tech
im more onto the visual stuff, but watching this its amazing..
Clean Bandit is really transperant, i really like it
it seriously sounded like i was about to be rick rolled at the beginning lmao
“we’ve got an obsession with the phil collins gated toms” dude same
So yall Not getting metro boomin here????
it's hard to get metro boomin, i think he doesn't like to be on camera making beats nowadays much
yeah brother but i think he should be here it would be cool
Gurdevsingh Namdhari no. not at all
why wht happen???
A lot of producers don't like to show how they do things, where they get their samples, or how they work cause they can get sued or swaggarjacked and suddenly they're music isn't special anymore. A good chef never shares his secrets.
"Hey this sounds pretty cool I always wondered how they made it" *after a few minutes* "i don't understand what you're saying anymore" XD
Great Job, thanks for posting ❤ 👏
