I find Ms Abt’s videos to be exceptionally informative and very helpful. While I am recently retired, I am still several years from being Medicare eligible. And while researching “what is ahead” for me regarding Medicare, I have her videos very helpful !
THANK YOU... Someone finally mentioned the no dental or vision benefits. Almost all of the other people on RUclips explaining supplement plans don't EVER say this...
I've been in the insurance industry for about 6 years now. But I got into the Medicare industry a little over a year ago. My head was spinning. Your videos have helped me SO MUCH. Ty!!
Very good info Thank you so much.
Stephanie is the best and can teach us all the secrets of old age medical insurance.
Thank you Richard! ☺
@@AbtInsuranceAgency On average, what is the annual increase for Medigap Plan G?
@@eddyvideostar it depends on the insurance carrier, we’d be happy to review specifics for your area, please feel free to give us a call! 888-465-9728
I think that is the type of supplemental insurance I have. I do have to pay a monthly premium and some out of pocket expenses. And I have been quite happy with it. I did have full coverage but the premiums were getting too high and was forced to go to a lesser Medigap plan.
On average, what is the annual increase for Medigap Plan G? Thank you for creating and posting this video.
Thanks Stephanie for your help in choosing a plan and a insurance company. I have had 2 claims this year one of which was an eye exam and after reviewing the EOB I just received last week I feel confidential that I chose wisely.
Gary, thank you so much for that feedback, and for taking the time to leave a comment - so appreciated! ☺
Great Video!! I'm very grateful of you sharing this vital info with the public: Government should grant you tax credit for doing this work. In comparing premium price of N, G and G-HD, what are the premium increases over time? Kathy Combs posted her fear the cost would exceed $500 or even her Retirement benefit!! Is that possible!! Thanks!!
Thank you so much for providing such valuable and easily understood information. The question I have is if one was to keep the lettered plan they are in but want to switch carriers to possibly get a lower monthly premium, would they be subject to underwriting? Thanks in advance!
Yes, when you switch to a new plan letter OR a new insurance carrier outside your initial 6 month 'open enrollment' window you would be subject to underwriting. I hope this helps!
Not to get too technical, BUT depending on your state you COULD possibly be able to switch under guaranteed issue without having to through underwriting. By birthday, supplement effective date anniversary, etc. Check with @Stephanieabt!
Do most Medigap Plan G as for the Medicare Part A (hospital stay) high deductible you speak of? And is the Part A deductible once per year?
did you get your answer on this? I posted above this very question!! Plan G vs. Plan G High Deductible.
How do I know if my medication is covered by A&B or D? I have an injection that is administered at my doctor's office.
Depends what Medicare plan ur on, either ur on Medicare Advantage or Medical Supplement
Medications that are administered by a healthcare provider in a medical care facility are generally covered under Medicare Part B.
I turned 65 in June and am signed up for Medicare parts A and B. At this point I do not have a Medigap policy. One question I have is that if I purchase a Medigap policy and need to contact the insurer which insurers are easy to contact so I could actually speak with someone?
@David Lambert Your best option is to work with an independent agent who can research all the carriers in your state and make a recommendation. Usually, these agents typically will take into consideration how good the customer service experience is with the different carriers and would likely only recommend those with high ratings.
Mary Beth has a great point. An agent can search for most carrier's in your state. I would shop and hear alllll the options and don't get berated into making a decision until you are totally ready and have done all your research (of course in a timely manner, you only have so much time with Supplements) My agency is only contracted with Mutual Of Omaha , Aetna, and Cigna. I work on the customer service end. In my experience, Mutual of Omaha and Cigna are always a pleasure to deal with.
@@BLRicozzi Very helpful info!! Hopefully David saw that. what does it mean you "work on the customer service end." this is your job?
I thought you had one year to change when you are new ....I just watched it on a video...I should just keep my culinary insurance....this is crazy....already have A and B only have to the 31 st to pick a sup.....in y 3 months after turning 65
Technically you're right. You can start signing up and pick a Medicare Supplement 6 months prior to your 65th month and 6 months after. (But the supplement won't start until after or when your A&B start) The 3 months is your initial enrollment period. 3 months prior to your 65th birth month, your birth month, and 3 months after. 7 full months to sign up for A, B, & D. Recap: Medicare Supplement you get 6 months before 6 months after 65th bday(to not have to go thru medical underwriting) to sign up for A,B,& D you get 7 full months. 3 months before 65th, birth month, and 3 months after 65th.
Does it make any different if we choose a broker that is out of state from us? Can we change Broker for whatever reason?
You can choose any broker that is licensed in your state, and I would advise making that choice based on knowledge, experience and trust.
Do you have info on Humana plans?
Yes, we work with all major insurance carriers. Call us at 888-465-9728 😃
I have AARP United Healthcare Medicare Supplement. If I go for an annual 'physical', and get labs like blood and urine, and pay out of pocket, will I get the 'reduced' insurance rate?
You don’t get an UHC insurance discount, since Medicare is Primary.
Can I work with more than one Medicare advisors and compare to see which one I want to use?
You can talk to multiple advisors, but generally only one agent can write your policy and work with you as your broker.
One Medigap salesman said one can change to a Medigap plan from Advantage until 65 and a half with no questions. You only gave a possible premium cost for one Medigap plan but no idea about the cost for others. Any other costs beyond the premium?
Do you mean out of pocket medical costs? I have videos that cover that! ruclips.net/video/htA-jr1tzAM/видео.htmlsi=0WREdaBiqXaGFsxH
What about Medicaid and how does a Medicare supplement plan affect HIPPA?
Typically if you're on full Medicaid and Medicaid is paying your Part B premiums you will not be able to get a supplement. Which is ok, because that means you're dual eligible for Medicare & Medicaid and require a Dual Special Needs Plan. DSNP. Which gives GREAT benefits.
As a person on traditional Medicare only (no Medigap plan) and who has needed a lot of health care in the last year, I think Medigap plans can be over sold. After a major surgery and various other things, I still have not paid as much out-of-pocket as I would with Medigap premiums. Also, most Medicare Advantage plans have higher co-pays than my traditional Medicare. I typically pay $20 compared with $50 for a specialist on a Medicare Advantage plan.
@Bill Peart That is interesting in your case, but not typical. You say you had major surgery as well as other health issues. Usually, such major surgical procedures would cost many thousands of dollars, of which Medicare would only cover 80%, leaving you to pay the remaining 20% if you have no Medigap plan. The cost of Medigap plans varies substantially depending on which insurance company you choose, where you live, your age, and whether or not you smoke. Given all these variables, I don’t think it is accurate to imply that Medigap plans are overly expensive or oversold. In my case, I have a Medigap policy for which I currently pay $76 per month ($912 per year). To me, that is a small price to pay for peace of mind that should I require an expensive surgery or treatment, my out of pocket expenses would be minimal.
Con you tell what insurance company you use and what state you are resistant
I had Medicare supplement with blueshift I paid $220 per month
@@MaryBethMcCoy are you sure it's not a medical advantage plan
@@nomore5403 I do not have a Medicare Advantage plan. I have a Medigap policy through Aetna and it is Plan N. I live in North Carolina.
@@Kolian1274 I bought an Aetna Medigap policy Plan N and I live in North Carolina.
Has anyone here used Stephanie for medicare plans?
hey Cinderella. How did it work out for you? Did you call her? She send me an email today. On the other vids there are several people who purchased from her company which I believe she owns in Austin Texas. Also, she was Miss Texas I believe.
@@timisaac8121 no, I didn't call her.
@@1CelloOne Hey thanks for the kind reply!! I spoke with her office the other day in Austin Texas. They seem to have about five sales staff and about five in admin. I had no idea an office could be supported by this type of insurance! Maybe I don't understand how insurance works. Best wishes. TY again!!
What happens when a Person is set up with with a Medigap , moves to another state..?
did you get the answer for this? Obviously Stephanie is the authority: in her vids, I think, she said medigap travels with you, anywhere in USA. Advantage specifically is regional. Again, please check the expert!! Best!!!
@@timisaac8121 yes I did thank you
@@rhondasview1230 Wonderful- Glad things are working out!!
Original Medicare A + B with a Supplement and Part D gives you the most flexibility. Unless I was real poor I would never take Medicare Advantage.
I moved from Plan G to N to save $35 a month. Also be aware that now that Plan F is closed Plan G is the "guarantee issue" plan. This means the rate increases will be more than N going forward since Plan N is always medically underwitten.
Is there open enroment in Louisiana supplement with no guestion during oct too December
To Lysander Spooner: How much are you paying for Plan N?
what a helpful and insightful post!!! TY Lysander!! You really gave me a big smile!! if you post again, would you post your state? Stephanie indicates the states matter: I am in CA. Did you give any consideration to G with High Deductible?
