- In this video we will teach you how to use the dry-brushing paint technique on one of our dioramas that was sculpted out of XPS foam. The colors used in this diorama are Apple Barrel Pavement, Dark Granite and Elephant Grey. We also used Anita's Heather Grey and Chocolate Brown.

Great tutorial. Dry brushing is one of the most important techniques dio makers need to master. Great vid!!
Thank you! Really appreciate you watching and glad you liked it.
Great vid!. Can you use news paper rather than paper towel?
Thanks! I think you probably can. I have never tried that. As long as it allows you to remove paint from the brush it should work. Cardboard would also probably do the trick.
@@vascotoys Cool. Thanks!
Newspaper might not get your brush dry enough. You'll probably need something a little more porous to soak the paint up. A cloth or paper towel is probably going to be the most effective. Give it a shot though, maybe it'll work better than I am thinking. ;-)
What do I need to do, If I want to make custom figures on marvel legends? Do I need a technique before and after painting tips? Cuz I just have tried to paint on figure with model color paints and after drying the paint comes easily off. Did I did maybe something wrong? Or the paints are not good enough for plastic? I want to know!
I wish I was able to help. I make dioramas, but have never painted a figure before. I'm sure you could find artists on Instagram that could help.
For your base coat are you doing straight black or is it a black wash
I usually do straight up black for the first coat.
@@vascotoys do you do that for all your dios or just the rock formations
@@dioromo4547 I do it for all my dios. Sometimes I use brown or grey instead of black
@@vascotoys thank you for the tips
