Altex at Co-Op Refinery Turnaround - Spring 2023

Co-Op is one of our BIG turnaround events each year, and this past spring was a huge success by any metric, but here's a key one - 75,000 hours worked, 0 recordable incidents!

EOT cranes and hoists are a big surprises in Turnarounds. Many are not (or cannot be) operated during the regular plant operation and when required after 5-7years of inoperation.. are discovered just konked off...(broken or siezed)....
Best way is to
-have an audit and rehearsal of all the hoists..(atleast 6months to 1 years in advance)
- greasing & minimum operation (required to keep healthy)
-keep all the spares for
1- minimum 2- maximum overhaul
