impressive how they managed to modernize a retro design, but in my eyes it's the nice middle ground between good Peugeot logos and bad ones
Somehow I think the old one was contemporary as well and it has stronger brand recognition yet stand out from far. No doubt the new Lion head is a looking good, just the stroke details is too much, I believe they aim for more versatile looks that can fit on various platforms and future plan.
A new peugeot
Personally, I think that the new vintage "coat of arms" lacks relief and the lion is ultimately not very visible. On the front of a car, I would have preferred a full chrome lion without border and without the name "Peugeot" above which is not very classy. Looks like a city logo rather than a front car badge. Ferrari never "locked" its horse on their grille.
The old logo didn't really aged but I understand that they need a new one because they are moving up. The new dealership design looks very nice too, it's an overall approach, not just a logo. We'll see how it works out, first with Peugeot's front of their cars.
The presentation is superb, but as a creative director, creating brand identities - the new logo is not my cup of tea.
My theory is that the management enforced the designers in this direction - and this is how we got this mediocre result. By compromise. My prediction is that the marketing directors will start using the logo in a negative version (filled shield) - this will hide some of the imperfections of the logo.

kind of agree with you. the outline is too thin and I can hardly imagine it on the grill of the car, having a strong identity recognition as the previous one. or they'll only use the name as ford does on its pickups... we'll see.
@@makasii- yep! :) Also the logo is too fragmented with a significant inconsistency of the lines.
Thank god they didn't use Montserrat for the logotype ;) Which, by the way, could probably use some final optical-balance-touches.
The big issue is the pseudo-3D perspective. 1 - the shield, 2 - the text, 3 - the lion, 4 , - the car or the product itself. Somebody should explain to key management that there are principles in graphic design, just like there are principles in car design and approaches should be different.
Who knows - maybe they were in a rush and plan to quietly change it in the next year.
I can't imagine using this for too long, especially with Porshe still having their own emblem :)
I kinda agree, but also not really. I can see that it is clean and it also somehow screams luxury, future, and sport all at once, and I also like the new colors and fonts. I wonder how they’ll implement it fully in the future.
@@nottimhortons Spot on. A logo is a logo (good or bad, even when it's more like an emblem), but the context, the (lack of) flexibility in the usage, the future integrations will prove that this is far from a perfect fit for the brand. Just pass me my popcorns :)
Yeah, I guess we’ll see. I’m hopeful. I believe this a framework for what we could expect when the brand design really gets going-their cars. I really love the logo, and if anyone else doesn’t, I respect their idea of it.

El logo parece sacado de un diseño de stock de páginas como shutterstock o freepik, está muy visto y repetido el emblema del leon en un escudo, aunque recurran al logo de los 60s. Tiene detalles muy pequeños como la lengua de el leon, que probablemente genere problemas de visualizacion o impresión a pequeña escala y las líneas de diferente valor que forman el León, el marco del escudo y la tipografía no tienen consistencia, se ven muy azarosas . El logo de Peugeot del año 68, tiene líneas angulosas, geométricas, que podrían haberse replicado en este logo, para mostrar una evolución más estilizada y moderna de cara al futuro. Creo que se quedan en una cosa entre futuro y tradición que no convence ya que no es ni lo uno ni lo otro. La tipografía me gusta aunque es un poco liviana y pierde jerarquía frente al León, por si sola, no sé que tan bien funcionará.

It's good to see so many French people in this ad. It is immediately obvious that the French car brand is being advertised.
The new logo is just terrible. It looks like a cheap freeware-clipart, downloaded from a late 90s-website. Give me back the iconic lion...this one is'n even a cat.
