Her hair make me remember Gamzee and some poses to Vriska, so i was feeling off the whole time, then in the credit show the artist for the 3 was the same, so there is that. 😔
Its just because compared to the other sprites, this artist's style really stands out as different. I had the same problem (in a lesser extend) with Elwurd and Tavros, the only trolls without ears (that i noticed). It just looked off *shrugs*
What RodExe said, the artist who made the sprite's style doesn't gel 100% with the style of the other sprites. Doesn't help that they didn't choose the best sprites to show her off in the original post when she has way better ones. I was one of the people who didn't like her sprite initially, but now that I've seen her other poses I think it's pretty good.
Omg what if we meet the dancestors and after that we meet Calliope and Caliborn! Imagine Mspa trying to make friends with Caliborn and Damara lmfao Or Mspa being mindcontrolled by Kurloz!! Or Mspa freeing Meulin from Kurloz's mindcontrol! Oooooor Mspa trying to be "hip" with the "youth" with Latula and Mituna!
This also means all the dancestors wouldnt be as mentally and physically hindered as they used to be! So that means Mitunas head wouldnt be scrambled and so and so.
I heard a someone on the pesterquest team say that the final route was after roxy's. As much as i would LOVE to meet calliope and the dancesters i dont think it will happen. But, i truly do hope we get more bc i love calliope so much
While Roxy's route had me thinking plenty about everyone's favorite Rogue of Void, it also made me think a bit about the Heir too. Void players are, of course, distinct from each other, but they do tend to share some common aspects. One of those is a sense of uncertainty about their identity. Horuss flailed about for an identity that might fit him/them/it even after death, constantly adopting new ones while refusing to abandon the old; Equius was forever unsure if he wanted to be ordered or to give orders; and Roxy, perhaps even more than Jake, tried to adjust her personality based on what she thought her friends and society wanted. In the comic, Roxy also showed the advantages of not have who she is set in stone; of all the Alpha kids, she was the only one to confront her most pressing issue (alcoholism) and overcome it, and that's in no small part because she decided she didn't want it to define her anymore. Contrast this with Light players, who tend to have absolute certainty in who they think they are (even if they're mistaken), and thus tend to react... poorly when their self-image is threatened, either getting highly defensive or over-correcting. Nevertheless, that kind of identity limbo is deeply taxing. As such, Roxy's comment that she wasn't sure if she wants to be WITH Dirk or to BE Dirk reframes Equius's somewhat indiscriminate thirst. Equius allowed his deeply unfair society to define him; whether by his adherence to it or his betray of it. And while he doesn't hit on EVERYONE in Homestuck, he nevertheless was almost always pretty easy to get... riled. With the context of what Roxy said, this can be seen as him desperately trying to find a connection or persona that would help him feel complete. In the process he somewhat alienated most people from him, which only enhanced his sense of isolation and longing; thus setting up the brutal cycle which would culminate in him accepting death-by-clown as a good end, if for no other reason than it played into the hierarchy he'd leaned on for so long. But that isn't how it had to go; indeed, Equius might have just as readily accepted death at Aradia or Karkat's hands, as violating Alternia's system was just as important to his sense of self. Therefore, it's perhaps less interesting to look at who got Equius all sweaty, and more interesting to look at the two people we know mostly didn't: Vriska and Eridan. Despite being neighbors, Vriska and Equius don't seem to have interacted much outside of passing acquaintance and necessity. Upper castes in Alternia are expected to scheme against each other, and Vriska tended to be dismissive of people she didn't think she could either control and/or bond with (not to mention Equius is an abysmal RPer), but I also think Vriska just didn't have much to offer Equius in terms of figuring out who he was. Aside from the fact that Vriska was far more willing to commit murder than the strictly vegetarian Equius, she was consumed by a deep-seated self loathing and sense of inferiority that she tried to paper over with a veneer of extreme self-confidence, egotism and confidence in the Alternian system. Being consumed by contradictory self-images that you try to ignore by focusing on Alternian societal expectations was one thing Equius both didn't need and didn't want any help in understanding. As for Eridan, Equius could brush off his lack of interest in the sea-dweller by relying on the old rivalry between land-dwellers and sea-dwellers (antiquated traditions being his go-to excuse for just about anything, really), but I think once again the bigger problem was that Eridan both was too much like Equius, and might force Equius to confront certain uncomfortable truths. Eridan, even more than Equius, tried to hit on everyone, albeit he wanted a relationship more out of a pure need for companionship and validation than a hidden desire for self-adjustment. Perhaps Equius knew enough about how others saw him to know that that wasn't a part of himself that needed more emphasis; indeed, maybe one of the reasons his friends tolerated him was because Eridan presented an example of how he could be worse. Potentially more important, though, was that Eridan fully bought into Alternia's social hierarchy and was willing to kill to enforce it. For all his rhetoric, Equius was far more talk than action when it came to such enforcement, and avoiding Eridan was an easy way to not admit that. Even more important than who Equius rejected, though, is who didn't reject Equius. And no, I'm not talking about Robo-Aradia; that was mostly a fling begun by her getting overwhelmed with her newly rediscovered emotions, and then perpetuated by a mutual fondness for destruction, both physical and societal. I'm of course talking about Nepeta. Unlike Vriska, Nepeta actually was fairly comfortable in her own skin - indeed, she may have been the most so of any of the trolls - and she was freely willing to both correct and play along with Equius's numerous complexes, so his attraction to her is obvious. Not to mention she provided a convenient excuse when he did/didn't want to do things that society said he shouldn't/should want to do; he could claim that his behavior was to keep her happy. I still think that, had Equius known what fate awaited his moirail, he might well have killed Gamzee. But what did Nepeta see in him? Yes, she clearly had a thing for self-appointed leaders, but that's a bit surface level. And Nepeta did balance out Equius's more aggressive tendencies like a moirail is expected to, but if that was all there was between them she would have felt as burdened by him as Feferi was by Eridan. And it's not that she was the only one to see past his flaws; Equius was generally tolerated, if not liked, by his friends, and was considered fairly reliable. He was a good guide for her at times, as he was less naive about how Alternia worked, but that also seems a bit shallow to make her fall in love. Rather, I think that, as a Heart player, Nepeta was attracted by both the uncertainty about himself that Equius suffered from - something that she, for better or worse, rarely had - and the prospect of helping him relieve it - as befits the Rogue of Heart, stealing people's identities via RP was her speciality. "But I can fix him!" is rarely the healthy start to a relationship, but in Equius's case Nepeta was less interested in "fixing" him then in helping him realize he was never as broken as he thought. And in often contravening her, Equius either helped guide her off paths that she might otherwise have blindly walked, or gave her an opportunity to justify herself, thereby letting her adjust her sense of self with the help of an outside perspective she could refuse if she wanted. She thus avoided the Heart pitfalls of either mangling her identity through wallowing self-reflection, or handing her sense of self entirely to another in a desperate attempt to avoid that. In other words, she didn't love him despite their debates and differences and arguments; in many ways, she loved him because of those. It's easy to imagine how terrible Equius might have turned out if he hadn't had Nepeta to drag him out of the dark when he needed it, but I think it speaks to the benefits of Void that Nepeta might well have become a tool (in either sense of the word) without a little reassuring darkness in her life. Anyway, thanks for reading my essay! tl;dr Void is awesome and terrible and I love it to bits.
