Just want to stop in to say my semi regular thank you. You guys are teaching me to play guitar :) I don't have a lot of spare money so your RUclips videos are literally a game changer for me. I used to be a jam guy who knew his open chords and a couple bar chords. So far I've got the pentatonic down, got my caged chords and am doing the blues essentials. Can't say thank you enough I swear one day your gunna have millions of views because your content it just brilliant.
I picked up on this trick when going through Dan's fantastic electric blues course. It was an 'ah-ha' moment and a lot of things clicked after that. This is arguably one of the most important lessons a beginner/intermediate can take.
Dan - Awesome insight on using the 2 scale shapes to easily move around. I just finished your lesson on "3 up 1 down 5 shapes" and this makes it all worth the while. 😁
Awesome video Dan! Started learning ‘Walk in my shadow’ this week. By ear, it seems all of Kossof’s licks are in position 1 (higher and lower positions). It’s been fun jumping around and adding my own ideas in different positions. This video will definitely help 👍. Keep up the great work my man ❤
Hi Dan love the airport concept😆 I always use to have to go through the whole pentatonic route to get to position 4 but now jump to position 4 by simply remembering the minor triads on the top three strings as my ‘anchor’ and then 5th position pent the easiest position to remember falls into place. Really enjoyed this lesson and the 5 day blues challenge which was brilliant, all the best from Sidcup south London, always look forward to your tutorials you always explain things so well keep them coming👍
The position 4 triad is awesome. First learnt that with Led Zeppelin’s ‘Since I’ve been loving you’ in C. Was also a game changer for me when it came to jumping out of position 1
