Very interesting. My paternal grandfather was an Air Raid Warden. His base was at Wensum Park off Drayton Road. As a child he would tell stories about the war and what he’d seen. He was the gardener at Wensum Park. He and my grandmother lived on Junction Road.

Once again I thank you for an excellent presentation. Well done on the 10,000! I remember when were such a small community. It is a testament to all your hard work that your following continues to grow.

This is a very interesting video and the presentation is excellent. I had no idea we had such raids in Norwich though my mum did speak of one around Gresham Road. I do remember growing up in the 80s the air raid siren at West Earlham would sometimes be heard, no doubt because we were in the middle of the Cold War

Thank you so much. So sad. People moan snd groan these days for the most trifling of things but these people went through h..l and , mostly, with a smile on their faces! We could learn so much from them 🙏🙏🙏👵🇦🇺

Our house in Overbury Road unfortunately had an aircraft drop on it, we stayed with my grand mother for a while we returned to Norwich and lodged with a very nice lady on Denis Avenue, Hellesdon, one night we had urgent knocking on the door, the ladies Husband who was a fireman had an emergency call out, when we looked across to the city it was just amass of flame, a sight I have never forgotten, I am 86 now

Very interesting as my moms maiden name was Rita Burrell and she grew up near Norwich, then moved in land to Bungay to avoid the bombing. I wonder if Maud Burrell was a relative.
