This Lloyd video led me to choose the Gerson about 15 months ago and it totally, 100 percent lives up to the Lloyd. Lol. I love this mask so much. Yes you look a little ducky. And it is SO COMFORTABLE. I have a toddler in my life and I need to be able to run around with her without struggling to breathe or sweating like crazy. When I have the Gerson on, I don't think about wearing a mask. The elastic is a little sensitive, but the price point is so good I don't care if one fails after a single use (I usually get many uses)
Could not have said it better! We also carry the Gerson 5 pack now for people wanting to try it.
He's got a lab coat so you know he's legit.
Seriously though, love the unbiased reviews backed by testing. The data that he gives the viewers is phenomenal. The CDC needs to hire people like him.
I'm so done with Amazon's shady business practices that favor manufacturers from China simply because they make money off them. The lack of policing of the blatantly fake reviews and counterfeit products supports that. It was annoying, at first, when you were buying some electronic gadget or a USB cable. But it should be downright criminal if they're pushing fake N95 masks that endanger the lives of the people that purchase these masks and the people around them.
Love this promotion. Have been so overwhelmed by choices, and spent hundreds of dollars on masks that didn't fit, or were FAKE. Will be looking forward to all the videos. The presenter is excellent.

It's really hard and awkward to get on... but once it's on it's great. If you have to take your mask on and off a lot it's not idea.

Made for healthcare for sure but I find it works really well on an airplane.
The Armbrust are N95 with head straps and pink surgical only masks I buy! David I think you'll love it. I've worn these for a few days at a time now and my only complaint is that the straps sometimes break... funny enough though it still works with one strap.

This mask review is too good to be true!! What also “sold” me was that it doesn’t have ear loops. Behind my ears are so tender now that I wear a mask regularly! Would definitely like to try this mask. Thank you for doing all of these reviews. So helpful!!
I don't believe there are any N95s with ear loops (real actual NIOSH N95s) due to the tension required to creat a good seal between the respirator and face. I'd avoid any ear loop masks.

I had masks years ago that looked exactly like this, same size box, individually packaged which I love, comfortable too but they didn't have ear straps. When covid hit I still had some leftover but the elastics had gotten old and snapped off :) I cut them in half and used them as filters inside a cloth mask before I discovered Armburst!

I bought these masks because of this great review, and you were spot on! Very comfortable. Question-- if I am flying on a plane do I need to double mask an n95 like this?
Not if it fits you well. The only point to double masking is to improve the fit of a mask, and when properly worn this mask should provide ample protection.

Duck bill masks aka pouch masks are just ridiculous. I've been smirked and stared at for wearing them but they're so comfortable that it's worth it.
Totally agree, Alexandre. Honestly, I was expecting to make fun of the mask but then I saw how well it did.
Since these duck bill / pouch masks have so much more surface area than a typical folding mask, I think it would be interesting retest them at a lower air flow rate than 32 L / min. and see if filtering efficiency improves significantly.
I'm just testing a small area so to your point the true breathability is actually much better.
Hey Lloyd, Love your reviews & your company! I’m a customer of Ambrust. I agree these masks are great for breathability. But, Aaron Collins got a lower efficiency rating than you for this mask. He got a 93.something. Don’t know how much difference this makes. Do you know why you got different ratings? Thanks!

Hi Lloyd! Can you test the Halyard Fluidshield Duckbill N95? I think it is considered the gold standard of medical N95s aside from those of 3M and Moldex. I am interested to know how it performs because I am planning to use it for hospital duty. Thank you!
I got my sample pack today and was super excited to try this mask.... but one side of the straps didn't seem to be melted in well, and came off while I tried to put it over my head, and the other side is about to pull out too. Where it is melted together over the strap seems like maybe it didn't get hot enough or something. Is that something you've seen with this mask? Maybe I just got a bad one.. It does seem super breathable, and actually the attachment point works well because that's where masks tend to gap open on me. (high prominent cheekbone with a slight indent under, so many masks gap there) It does however give me ideas of just making my own strap to clip onto my masks to give a better fit-product idea?? I have a tiny head so all the mask straps are way way too long. Even the tiny Armbrust child mask which is a bit too small for me, the earloops are too long and don't hold it tight. Thanks for all these great mask tests. I have primary immunodeficiency, so vaccines aren't effective and my immune system has a tough time with a regular cold.. So a mask is the only thing I have to keep me safe for the occasional doctor visits where I have to leave my house.
will you be testing the 3m vflex 9105, would be interesting to see the breathability of that compared to the gerson 3230.

Petite face person here, I have this and the ACI duckbill style. Gerson fit my face fine, though I do need to have more careful attention with the wire to seal down onto my bony cheek bones and it causes more pressure across my nose bridge. I think it would work for a variety of face types because of the style and that nice room fit under the chin. I much prefer the ACI blue duckbill variety, perhaps because the straps are more comfortable material and wider (less fuss with longer hair), less tension over the nose/cheeks.

@@USArmy91222 The Gerson does have a smell from the straps that are made of non-latex material (rubber band like). I was worried because it smells the same as natural rubber/latex (I have a contact allergy to latex). The ACI is a neutral medical paper scent, similar to most surgical/procedural masks. I don't notice the scent enough to be bothersome when in use for either mask. Though if you have an aversion to rubber/latex you might have issues with Gerson (I think the smell increases with reuse, maybe the straps off gas more over time? Not overpowering horrible, just aware of its existence).

Have you ever tested AOK Tooling (Softseal) masks with the silicone seal?
Never tried the duck bill style but love the test results. The "+" might refer to a braided headband with staple-free attachment?
The + version is a surgical respirator with rated fluid resistance.
Ahanuban is correct. The plus is the surgical rating by the FDA and has an extra coating for fluid resistance.

What was the difference between the 3230 and the 3230+? You said you would test the plus and also figure out the difference between the two, but the video ended before that happened.

Being of a certain age I remember bouffant hair styles created through teasing of the hair and also the freeform Afro styles. Having a few comical moments here imagining how women would have brainstormed 'outside the box' to wear this particular mask and to camoflage the elastics within their always perfect coiffures.

I'd be very curious to see how the Kimberly Clark (Kimtech 53358) duckbill masks compare to these! They're at a similar price point and form factor, but not individually packaged.

I've used both Kimberley Clark and these masks. I absolutely love Kimberley's comfortable straps and SO wish these Gersons were fitted with them instead of the terrible rubber bands. You'd have the *perfect* mask with that combo.
There are a lot of comments about the straps not being strong and even breaking while wearing. Have you addressed these comments?

Dr. Schwartz you have not lived! It's a soft plastic coating applied to the outside of a cardboard box that makes it feel premium. Generally it only costs a few cents more but shows that manufacturer really cares about the experience. If you've ever opened a new iphone it comes in a soft-touch box.
