The reason the Venitians broke so fast is because of the lower morale and cuachiqueh units has the "Frighten nearby enemies trait" and then we have the coyote priests. What makes it even more interesting is that with the General alive modifier and coyote priests shouting your units have almost "inifinite" morale which makes them supernasty to fight. I'm really glad to see you casting this replay Apollo, keep up the good work :) France was somehow desynced at the end, while it not showing up. So he saw the battle from a completely different perspective where he had won alone on his screen. So we had to tell him to put his units on autofire and cross our fingers they worked out. He was in many ways completely blind.
Finally the player who sends in the replay doesn't win because 99% of the battles the players who sends it in wins. Really respect it lostinnepal hopefully we will see more of that in the future. Scenario: After subjugating the Aztec empire, Spain granted measures of autonomy to the New Spain Colony, leading to surprising levels of tolerance between the Spaniards and Aztecs. As such, Spain brings along their Aztec vassals and prepares for war against the Moors, along with their French allies. Taking back Moorish land lead to many surrounding Muslim nations declaring war on France and Spain. After the Spanish succeeded in taking an Anatolian fort from the Muslim Turks in one of their more far flung campaigns, both the Byzantines and the Venetians saw a chance to weaken their Turkish rivals, and declared war. Through some confusion, and the fact that the Venetians didn't particularly like the Spanish influence on Italian lands, along with the fact that the Byzantines were very eager to reclaim what they believed to be theirs, a Spanish controlled fort in southern Anatolia ended up under siege by Byzantine and Venetian armies, along with a large contingent of Scottish mercenaries.

And then there's the other bits you mentioned.

You are right. Morale in the kingdoms expansion is very shaky. You need to seriously consider putting experience chevrons on your troops in battle on the expansion.

At the end of the battle, the attackers still had more men remaining than the defenders. It would be awesome if after the battle, a second, smaller battle broke out between the first battles survivors. Attackers would have won them, assuming the walls would stay destroyed.

Late Period, 14 riflemen, max 4 melee infantry, 1 cavalry (bodyguard not included) 1 cannon, sort of like empire but less buggy and cooler soundtrack. Unfortunately, I have no P.C. to test this out on in Medieval 2, so this idea could be a disaster. Let me know what you think, constructive criticism allowed.
I don't know Greek or anything but I'm pretty sure the Alamanoi are germanic mercenaries from Central Europe or something of the likes. Kind of like Varangians are nordic soldiers fighting for the Byzantines. Can someone confirm? PS: Great video as usual, Mr. Apollo
Can you slow down on the moving camera like we know you want to show us everything and seeing what's happening but we just want to see the troops close up, seeing what the players are planning.
what an epic siege, however i think that the bombard does too much damage at this distance with shrapnel shot (I don't think shrapnel shot existed at that time but I read that in late middle ages they would put small stones in cannons but not iron so it wasn't effective at all), and i don't like all the gunpowder artillery units it's supposed to be a medieval siege. I know that gunpowder artillery existed in 13th century but it was rarely used since it was new and expensive and cannons used to blow up because of poor quality cast. Trebuchets could launch larger stones than cannons (cannons also used round stone balls for ammo), but ok it really depends on time period (early/late middle ages). I would love to see catapults and trebuchets insted of gunpowder artillery, also explosive cannon shells were first developed in 17th century. Could you post some night sieges? This was the critique of the game not your video, you did an awesome job as always, keep it up ;)
