So I made this and I’m in love with the scent of clove and my brotherlocks stayed out. I was scared of slippage because of the oils but no more dry or itchy scalp. Haven’t seen any flakes. That is super. Again, the clove does it for me. The scent and the fact that I fights odor and bacteria is a. Added bonus. I like the dilution thing too. Good idea.
I tried this for almost 3 year old sisterlocks. It smells amazing and rinses our beautifully. Also, it keeps my hair from smelling as I workout 5-7 days per week. Thanks for sharing!!!
@@TunisiaAli Good evening, I was watching you video on conditioning. I need softness and shine . My email address is xxcogic23xx@yahoo.com. I missed your text number to order. Thank you.
This recipe just looks luscious. I think I'm going to try it for my natural 4C hair. I need to get my hair healthy before I start my SL journey. Thank you!!!
Hi! Yes, it should work fine. Keep in mind the castille soap will give you a rougher feel, which is what makes it better for locks as they grow into settling. Since you havent started locks, be sure to use a good condition to soften it some. I think you'll find it will strengthen your hair over time! Best wishes and thanks for your comments!!
Omg...I absolutely love that you have your water in a copper vessel...people sho on the impact of copper fortified water. I drink water out of it... but wil try for my shampoo now also!!! Thank you
I just made my second batch of this shampoo. The first time I followed the recipe as in the video and loved it. This time I did everything in the recipe and substituted vitamin e oil for the jojoba because I just ran out today. I also added oregano, rose, peppermint and frankincense. I did 2 parts lavendar soap and 1 part peppermint soap. Then I filled the bottle with distilled water. I can't wait to wash my hair in the morning and see how it feels and smells. My locs are 13 weeks old, and I have been using this for the last 6 weeks. My hair is springy and light, and it has a nice sheen.
That's sounds like an oasis of heaven and I know your hair is experiencing happiness and bliss. I love that recipe. It's sure to fight odor and bacteria as well. Thank you for sharing!
I had to come out here and post about this shampoo, my post is long over due really as i started using this shampoo about a year ago. This is by far the best thing i discovered for my SLs i started using this when i was six months in and in 2-3 months my loctician noticed how much my hair was growing. What I also love about this shampoo is that i use it for regular washes in between retis, it is so moisturizing but yet leaves your locs really clean - with a nice after wash smell. Besides that what I really like about it is the the essential oils in it prevent your hair from having any odor especially if you work out a lot. I compliment this shampoo with Tunisia’s miracle oils blend and her hair mist blend. Thanks Tunisia Ali, my SLs owe you a lot!
Thx for your time and useful information on making shampoo and oils for sisterlocs I really enjoyed it. Will be getting supplies to make my own. And your locs are GORGEOUS!!!!!
I am just embarking on your channel and I am in search of more information on the care of my Sisterlocks. I recently got my installation on 3/1/2020 (a day ago =)) and I couldn't be more excited and happy that I have finally made the transition after about 5 years of consideration. The one thing that my stylist didn't do was have informative instructions on the care and upkeep of my newly installed locks. She did say to do what I've "been" doing and use the products that I've "been" using, but I know that to be incorrect due to the research I have already done. That is the ONLY thing about her assistance to getting my installation that tried killing my vibe a little bit. Nevertheless, I am super excited that I have found you and have viewed several several of your videos. Your presentations are captivating, more importantly the information and instructions make so much sense and it is clear that your regimen is proven to work. Your Sisterlocks are beautiful and I am grateful that you have chosen to share your experience with women like me who aim to have a pleasant journey while glowing and growing with our natural hair. Thank You.
I love your sharing. Wow! Tha k you for stopping by. Yes, go back to my earleir videos and you will find plenty of information (about 1 year ago). Avoid too much manipulation, always braid and band, watch too much oil, but listen to your hair.

I found you searching loc journeys and I wanted to know the difference between micro locs, sister locs and regular locs and I saw you with your daughter, very beautiful! I have been natural since 2013 but had begun to consider a loc journey, still on the fence a little. Then I saw your video on manifesting and when you stood up and spoke on clearing the womb section, there was much connection there for me, as I am in the book Sacred Woman by Queen Afua. Checking you out, I found this, I love this shampoo recipe w/castille soap. I love castille soap and I also make shampoo bars so gotta try this one! TY But looking down in your info section...GF! I didnt know you had wrote a book, offered courses, life coach, etc. and did Tarot. Very interesting Wombman! Glad I subscribed and plan to keep up with you!
I'm 14 months in my sister loc journey. I had not been washing my hair because my hair is curly. After watching your video and am going to purchase the essential oils and Castle liquid soap and make the mixture you shared in the video. I plan to wash my hair now at least every other month. Thank you thank you thank you!

Hi Tunisia! I enjoy watching your videos. Your voice is soothing and you have a lot of experience with Sisterlocks. I'm a loose natural, but I'm very interested in finding out more about Sisterlocks. And I'm all about holistic beauty and haircare.
Hey Maryam! I’m sitting here looking at some on my counter, but I’ve never used it in shampoo, only in my facial care regimen for scars. Rose water in general is great stuff though! I think it would likely work great in shampoo!
Hello Beautiful . Dr. Bronner shampoo you can get online via Amazon or your local health food store. It's pretty common. U less you have a favorite supplier, like DoTerra or Oshadi, you can get your oils on Amazon too. Best wishes.
FYI: This left residue in my hair; I'm guessing the oils (in the Castile soap and the added) is too much for my hair type (4c, low porosity). Took forever to get out with clarifying soap. Thanks Tunisia for the tips though.
You are most welcome. The ratio I use is 3 to 1. You can always modify to meet your paticular needs and modify the oils as well. You should not have residue. We definitely dont want that .
I love Dr Bronner's. I use the Peppermint one mostly and add a few other ess oils. Been using it since the beginning of my Sisterlocks journey six years ago and I don't see myself ever changing
Yay!!! If like topics related to energy, quantum, and spirituality, please subscribe to my Butterfly Transformations Channel. I appreciate you and extend my gratitude for you stopping by. I'm glad we found each other too!!
I love your channel. Your hair is beautiful. I am looking to get another install of sistalocks( I had locs from 1999 to 2018) This loose natural style is not for me! I will be looking forward to your other videos...Peace
Hello there. I love that you love OUR channel. I am humbled and happy! LOL! Wow. I guess your locks were long. You took them.out and parted with your babies, huh? You miss them now, huh? I can imagine. Wow. What made you cut them? Are you gonna go back with sisterlocks or something else?
@@TunisiaAli I am having my locs installed Nov 9. I had those locs for 20yrs but when I moved from Cali to Vegas, my locs began to lack the energy they had before. Well, I have been a loose natural now since Mar 2018 and enough is enough! I want my locs! I'm coming back! I love locs. I now know I have 4c fine hair and low porosity hair. I now know how to better take care of my hair.
Thank you!! This video was very informative and I'm gonna try your shampoo mixture probably when I reach about 9 months cause I still have slippage at 6 and 1/2 months 🤦🏾♀️
Yes, Solange wait until you know for sure you are out of the woods. This is a shampoo that will not soften anyway, so that can give you some assurance. But your investment is great, so that's the caveat. I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Keep coming back, sis!
Hey, Tunisha! I made the Miracle Grow Oil and love, love, love it! Just wondering...can I just add some of that blend to my diluted Dr. Bronner's to make the shampoo? Inquiring minds, etc....
I enjoyed your video. You gave me a lot of helpful tips. I did not get the name of the main shampoo that you use with the essential oils. Please let me know. Thanks again and God Bless!
Hi! The shampoo can be purchased at most natural food stores and places like Sprouts, and Whole Foods. It is called : Dr. Bronner's Pure Castille Soap (18 in 1 Hemp) Any flavor..I use lavender
Hello I love your videos especially being new to sister locks I just started and I'm so EXCITED and you videos help me so much because I'm so nervous about everything for my hair. Do you have a video showing the brands and names of the products you use so I don't purchase the wrong thing from being under educated about sisterlocks hair . Thank you in advance and thanks for your time in helping us other sisters.
So so glad you created this shampoo. I am almost 1 year with Sisterlocks and they haven't locked yet for the most part. I'm hoping I can use your DIY shampoo instead of the SL shampoo without slippage. What do you think?
This oil may work BUT if I were you, I would test a section first with a few washes. This natural blend has a way of softening your hair some. You will definitely want to braid and band.
I came across your shampoo video and I love how you educate your viewers. Are you still using this shampoo method. I plan on trying this with my next wash
Yes! I always do. It has been years now!! Every now and then (very rare), I will wash the 2nd time with something else just for a fragrance I might want to experience.
Hey Nadine. The essential oil blend is my conditioner. Shampoo (with what I make) and I use this. Most of the time (95%), this is my routine. I find this blend does it all for me.....I dont really use a separate conditioner consistently, except right after I color. Whatever I color with, I use their conditioner right after coloring and that's really it.
Yes maam!! It sure can!! But you know with color treated hair, just about any washing will strip the color. So you always run that risk regardless. One of the reasons I wash less and now use rinses which im so happy with.
Great video! You are very knowledgeable about the various essential oils. I can’t wait to make this! Would this be a good shampoo to use prior to loc installation or should a basic clarifying shampoo be used?
I have been infusing avocado oil with fresh rosemary and using it on my scalp with good results for a couple of years now. After watching this video, I was just wondering if I could use that in a mixture instead of the castor oil, of which I am not a fan.
Oh yes! Why of course. I use on ..ok y a tad of castor anyway be use it's so heavy and sticky. But, I also love avocado. It's a bit heavier and fatty, but extremely high in a antioxidant power. Yes, have fun! Thank you for sharing!
Aaaahhhwwww....thank you. I'm so honored. You have made my day!! I love to know that there is interest. There will be more videos on this topic on my Butterfly Transformations channel soon. It's hard for me to tell if you are on the locks channel or that one. It's coming up on the sisterlocks channel. If so you can search Tunisia Ali and Butterfly Transformations and it will take you there. I think you'll love reiki. To find out more, you can check out my site: www.hidayahreiki.com Often, we don't clean our energy like we do the rest of the parts of our lives. So as the energy builds, it blocks so much of our chi- life force energy. Distance sessions work well too! You don't have to be there. Energy transforms time and space! Thank you. Love and light to you!
I love avocado oil in general. It's amazing. Its heavier than than the jojoba for sure. It's very healthy though and has a lot of antioxidants. I've used it some over the years when I've felt the need for more coverage. I seem to prefer the jojoba though because its lighter. Thank you for your engagement. Have you used it at all on your hair, and what's your feeling?
Hi T! I would say wait a bit. Just a couple of more months. This shampoo is a bit softening. OR, you can 1/2 the oil and add 1 part more shampoo to 3 parts water (proportionately) to give a little more roughening. Experiment. Xoxoxo
Can you order from Amazon. If they ship to you, I know you can definitely order it online. Im not sure of a good substitute, except it would be a simple clarifying type shampoo that you would need to doctor up some.
Thanks so much for this video! One question, do your locks smell? Don’t you sweat in your head...? What do you do in between washes for so long to manage the sweating and smell thar comes with it...especially if you exercise regular? I cannot go so long without washing because of this
Hey sis!! What do you mean later or cut in terms of styling? No. Or did you mean was there soemthing my lociticsn did differently? No. They just have grown this way partly due to my opening bunching locks and losing her while doing it. I had the most bunching and craziness up in the top areas, where the hair was thickest. I hope I was able to get a bullseye on what you were asking and a least hit one target. Have a great day Rosemary!
I just found your channel and I really enjoyed listening to you and your knowledge about maintaining locs. I have very fine hair. Can you please give me advice on how to thicken my locs. This is my third time with locs. Time have sister locs, which makes it easier for me to loose them. Please help. I'm desperate.
I REALLY REALLY REALLY appreciate your videos. I am getting my Locs done in March and I am very much a natural product chick!! LOL!! I do have a question, do you recommend I use this in the start of the process or should I wait?
I would wait a few/several months initially, then test a small area. You want to be somewhat secure in the locks beginning to lock. Also the shorter your locks the longer you need to wait. DOD you do your install yet?
Hi Tunisia. Have you noticed you have less married locks while using your shampoo? And when did you start using your shampoo in your sisterlock journey?
I have been trying to make my hair grow fast as well. I want it long like yours possibly even longer xD ._. I'm defintiley trying your blend out if it truly grows your hair out. Do I have to use castille soap? Or if I wanted could I use a different soap base? Also do I have to use the fatty oil? Or can I skip that part and just use the essential oils? And can you list the essential oils?
Hi!!!! I'm not sure about a different soap base. I chose this one becuaee they claim its healthier and less 'doctored up'. I'm gonna go back and add the ingredients in the description. Thanks for the pointer. It's really made my hair healthy and strong.
The fatty oil helps to condition and soften some. The castille soap has a little oil in it too. You dont absolutely have too. You can also add just a little less. Thank you for commenting!
Peace and blessings upon you and yours ♥️ Thank you for sharing this shampoo blend. Due to the inner hoarder in me, I have a quick question. Would I be able to add this blend to the oh so highly recommended Suave and V05 shampoos? They did not work well for me as they didn’t get that sweet musky workout funk out of my hair. Have you ever added your blend to other shampoos? (I can’t use the dr bronners because of the hemp and I’d rather not throw my military career away over it). I LOVE the synergistic oil blend. It was a lot of fun to mix and it smells sooo good! My scalp loves it!
I would say give it a shot! It cant hurt to try. The lighter the shampoo, the likely better. Depending on the I gradient already in suave, you may need to modify the shampoo somehow.
Diedra, I just died my locks and I'm going lock crazy. The color has revealed even MORE lint! Sigh!! Gonna post soon. Sigh!!!! OCD Bigtime!! Hahahaahha
HAhahahahha! Yes Lydia. Somehow the Taliyyah Wajid stuff gave me a not so pleasant odor. So consequently, I became focused on something that would give me a new level of freshness. I needed to feel confident that I wasn't smelling. giggle, giggle!
Your hair is beautiful I have DIY micro locs and I’ve watch to many video about how to. I didn’t get sisterlocs because the price is waaaaaaay more then your price. I’m not sure if anybody said it but ACV ( Braggs) to get rid of lint and build up. Can you please tell me how to get rid of my center part. And is the anything else I can use besides jojoba and olive oil. I love Argan but need to know if that will work as well.
Hi!! Yes the ACV does work. I tried it before. I think it brings so much to the surface that you really have to be prepared to go to work on helping the process out. By the time the ACV breaks it up, it's really obvious. I tend to be a lint magnet ....Sigh! Thank you for your comments. I may give it a shot again and just dive in!
Love your videos, have a question I'm going to a new loctician I feel not all of my locs are being tighten. I have been doing my hair myself for the last 9 yrs so I know my hair. Part of me just want to just keep doing it myself. Because one I love doing it, but going to loctician to treat myself. TIA
Wow, really? Like you feel shes skipping some deliberately or as an oversight? Hmmmm...I have had maybe 3 occasions in 7 plus years where I found a lock that was an oversight. Thats the benefit of knowing the in and outs of your hair! Uhn!!! What do you think is going on? I admit, it is nice to treat yourself, and I know you deserve it! LOL. Did in inquire or direct her attention to it yet?
I have no idea. I can tell you that henna, while natural is still a chemical which shifts the ionic structure of your hair. The quality of the henna as well is important. I would carefully look at rhe texture and make sure that it's grainy nature will not cause it to get stuck in your locs also. Just a thought. Never combine that with a chemical application within weeks. That is how I eneded up on my natural hair care journey.
After my 8 yr old found the smelly goodness of the shampoo, she used it as body wash (not knowing it was shampoo) and it made me wonder... Is there anything in the mix that would make it not good as a body wash?
Check out my video on To Oil or Not to Oil. I would wait at least until you get to the 6 to 9 month mark. BUT, that depends on the progress of your locs. That could vary depending on your texture. I believe I started with this right after I finished the first bottle of the Sisterlock shampoo.
Hi sis!!! Hmmm...I think for sure within year one I stopped. I just dont recall purchasing it for that long. But I did band for a while. I dont recall being that impressed with their shampoo. But I would say leave out the added fatty oils (jojoba, etc) as a precaution bbn if you don't before you locks are more settled. You will still do well with the essential oils. That's what the powerhouse of the recipe is. Thanks for engaging the channel. I appreciate it.
Hi Tunisia! 👋💜 I made this shampoo ( I used the Dr Bronners Hemp Sandalwood Jasmine scent) and used it last night... I'm in love! Smells amazing and my love feel great. I'm about to make the hair growth oil as well but, at one point I thought I heard you talking about a moisturizing hair spray in one of your videos and I don't see a video on that recipe. Is that one of the videos that you removed or am I just overlooking it?
Hey there sis! That's wonderful. You will enjoy the recipe. Be sure to wash well and dont overoil. This way you keep you hair light in weight and more lint free. It will grow and be SOOOO strong. I know this is why is a stable to dye 4 times a year for an few years and not have a catastrophe on my hands. Enjoy and I wish you the best. I had a spray with rose oil, cardamom and a bit of coconut fractionated oil on the channel. Let me try to locate a link to it. It's been awhile. So glad you stopped by!!
Howdie!! Great! All of them have hair and scalp benefits. Geranium and bergmont have nice smells too, although geranium is strong. If you had to choose between the 3, I'd say the Cleary sage. You can add the other two later. However if fragrance is a concern, the other 2 will help. Excited for you! Let me know how it goes..
Definitely the stater shampoo for a few months. Test a small area first. Then wait. This shampoo is softening and you should wait until you are securely oast the first several months.
In the video I have all the directions and supplies. I have 2 videos on my channel. One is for the shampoo and the other is for the miracle grow hair oil. Check them out from the homepage. You'll love it!!
I don't see why not at face value. With SL just be mindful of anything too slippery. LOL! There's lots of super-powered non fatty oils to use though (essential oils) that are not fatty.
How mature do your sisterlocks have to be? I still have to braid and band my SL- is it ok to still mix in the essential oils, and jojoba and almond oils?
I like to say consult your loctician and your inner voice. My loctician recommended oils at my 1st reti. Although I did it sparingly, I was doing it early on. I didnt have any issues. Each of our hair is different. I would say if you do it, use it sparingly if you are in the early stages.
Hi Latoyia!! Welcome to our community. I'm happy you chose us! In most areas a health food store will have them or stores like GNC, Whole Foods, Sprouts , and herb stores. Also, you can get therapeutic grade essential oils on amazon as well for a few dollars cheaper. I do this a lot. The NOW brand is economical and decent quality for use on hair. I wish you the best!

Hey Maryam! I’m sitting here looking at some on my counter, but I’ve never used it in shampoo, only in my facial care regimen for scars. Rose water in general is great stuff though! I think it would likely work great in shampoo!
Okay thanks! I've used it on my face as well, sometimes I do spray it on my hair! I love the rose smell!
Thank you so much for your reply on the name of Dr. Bronner Pure Castillo soap.
I love your boy. You are super informative.
You are amazing, i could watch you all day
LOVED THIS! I've been having serious problems with dry scalp. Can't wait to try this!
Let me know how it goes. As you progress, you will find that you will naturally tweak it for your "energy"!
@@TunisiaAli Oh I will! After a month of use I come back to update. Thank you for this brilliant video! :)
Where do you purchase all the items you put in the bottle to make the shampoo? I would love to try this when shampooing my hair ❤
Hello Beautiful . Dr. Bronner shampoo you can get online via Amazon or your local health food store. It's pretty common. U less you have a favorite supplier, like DoTerra or Oshadi, you can get your oils on Amazon too. Best wishes.
Following from the sisterloc conference. New subbie. I absolutely love your hair by the way ~
Thank you so much Cassandra and welcome!!! I'm happy we have found each other!! Smile!
I’m just thinking about starting off and I love you! Your tips are so helpful and resonate with me
FYI: This left residue in my hair; I'm guessing the oils (in the Castile soap and the added) is too much for my hair type (4c, low porosity).
Esinam Adzo did you use this with a new installation or did you wait for a little
I just found you!! I"m glad I did.. love your personality..YESS more Quantum..I subscribed. I need to get those oils.
I truly love all of your videos!! I’m making this today. How much almond and jojoba oil is needed to make this shampoo? Thanks in advance.
Great video!! Thank you for sharing. I use young living essential oils which are 💯 and Dr. Broner’s is the best.
Love love love it!! Thank you!!
Hey, Tunisha! I made the Miracle Grow Oil and love, love, love it! Just wondering...can I just add some of that blend to my diluted Dr. Bronner's to make the shampoo? Inquiring minds, etc....
Loving your channel!!!
Ahwwwww.....Thanks Sis!!!!
Thanks for your info and I appreciate your tips and the name of the shampoo combination.
Thanks for the guide. I love to do my own thing so yeah worth trying.
I needed this information. Thank you.
Thank you for your Loc advice
I came across your shampoo video and I love how you educate your viewers. Are you still using this shampoo method. I plan on trying this with my next wash
Yes! I always do. It has been years now!! Every now and then (very rare), I will wash the 2nd time with something else just for a fragrance I might want to experience.
I’m interested in it all. What do you use for conditioning. Thanks as always for the info. I’m doing it for my daughters and I.
Thank you for sharing I really appreciate it as I'm just starting my journey
Much Love to you Sonya. I appreciate all your support. Enjoy your products.
Thanks for this recipe! Where did you get that awesome copper pitcher?
Thanks so much for the in depth instructions. Can this be used on color treated hair?
I think it would be great prior to an instlal, but not for several months after. You'll love it! Excited for you.
I would love to have the recipe for your shampoo and the oil mixture hair bend.
Would love to know more about reiki I’m into crystals and relaxation love your videos new subbie.
To find out more, you can check out my site: www.hidayahreiki.com
Often, we don't clean our energy like we do the rest of the parts of our lives. So as the energy builds, it blocks so much of our chi- life force energy. Distance sessions work well too! You don't have to be there. Energy transforms time and space! Thank you. Love and light to you!
Tunisia Ali I’m on both channels because I have 5 month old sister locs and I’m into learning about reiki. Thanks for responding. Have a blessed day
Thank you!
Love your videos and your spirit! What do you think of avocado oil for locs?
I love avocado oil in general. It's amazing. Its heavier than than the jojoba for sure. It's very healthy though and has a lot of antioxidants. I've used it some over the years when I've felt the need for more coverage. I seem to prefer the jojoba though because its lighter. Thank you for your engagement. Have you used it at all on your hair, and what's your feeling?
I really enjoy your videos! I've had my locs for 1 month now. Is it too early to try your homemade shampoo?
Hi T! I would say wait a bit. Just a couple of more months. This shampoo is a bit softening. OR, you can 1/2 the oil and add 1 part more shampoo to 3 parts water (proportionately) to give a little more roughening. Experiment. Xoxoxo
I love this video. I live in a place where I can not get the castil shampoo. What else can i use?
Can you order from Amazon. If they ship to you, I know you can definitely order it online. Im not sure of a good substitute, except it would be a simple clarifying type shampoo that you would need to doctor up some.
Thanks for your generous sharing...will definitely try this and the oil blend. Do you use hair conditioner?
Hi Angela. Thank you for stopping by. I dont use conditioner. I make an oil blend. Theres a video on my channel for this as well. You'll like it!!
Thank you & enjoy a wonderful day
Thanks so much for this video! One question, do your locks smell? Don’t you sweat in your head...? What do you do in between washes for so long to manage the sweating and smell thar comes with it...especially if you exercise regular? I cannot go so long without washing because of this
Hi Nubian! Welcome! Check out my LOC FUNk videos. I have 2 of them. I describe some different things you can do!!! Thank you for engaging the channel.
🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️ to ButterflyTransformations. Thx you for sharing ❤️
Thanks for sharing your Awesome shampoo recipe! Your sisterlocks are absolutely gorgeous! Did you layer the locks in the front and top?
Watch my video from today. Start taking MSM flakes and Vitamin C
@@TunisiaAli Yes Ma'am!!! I FINALLY did it!! I had 14 inches of hair :-( I didn't want to cut it. LOL!!
Hi Tunisia. Have you noticed you have less married locks while using your shampoo? And when did you start using your shampoo in your sisterlock journey?
Hi Tunisia, does it matter what brand of castille soap long as it's pure or what scent?
Nope! Whichever you prefer. I use the lavendar one.
Hello how can I purchase the shampoo
Thanks for sharing. Making this ASAP. How often do you wash your hair a month?
Every 2 months....I know...but it works for me. 8 to 10 weeks.
Thanks so much for the quick response. I will keep you posted on how it worked for me. Blessings to ya.
You also try substituting a similar natural shampoo without hemp. That would likely work better.
I love the way you talk, half the big words you use I don’t know lol ha ha but I’m learning.
Hahahha! You are really sweet and so authentic! I like you already sister! Welcome. I dont think I've seen you before. Keep coming back!!
I’m OCD, and will be lint-pickin too!!
Diedra, I just died my locks and I'm going lock crazy. The color has revealed even MORE lint! Sigh!! Gonna post soon. Sigh!!!! OCD Bigtime!! Hahahaahha
Wow! You use a lot of oils. lol- but I can imagine your locs smelling really good.
HAhahahahha! Yes Lydia. Somehow the Taliyyah Wajid stuff gave me a not so pleasant odor. So consequently, I became focused on something that would give me a new level of freshness. I needed to feel confident that I wasn't smelling. giggle, giggle!
Lydia yeah for me she use too much essential oils. Be careful essential oils are very dangerous if put you put too much!!!
Aminta Ane Her locs are beautiful though so whatever she’s using/doing is working.
Can I buy this from you?
Yes. I prefer not the make the shampoo, but I do sell my miracle grow oil and I will make the shampoo if you prefer. 678-438-6442
I made the shampoo however, the shampoo became somewhat solid. Not enough water or something. How do you keep it a liquid? Should I use more water?
How old do the locks need to be to use this shampoo and not be in danger of *slippage* ?
Can I use this on my starter locs?
@@TunisiaAli just to find a way to say ot nicely
I am looking for a safe color for my sister locs? I bought a henna color, is it any good?
I have no idea. I can tell you that henna, while natural is still a chemical which shifts the ionic structure of your hair. The quality of the henna as well is important. I would carefully look at rhe texture and make sure that it's grainy nature will not cause it to get stuck in your locs also. Just a thought. Never combine that with a chemical application within weeks. That is how I eneded up on my natural hair care journey.
I use rinses now after a few years of dyeing my locs. Check out my videos on dyeing your locs. Best wishes.
After my 8 yr old found the smelly goodness of the shampoo, she used it as body wash (not knowing it was shampoo) and it made me wonder... Is there anything in the mix that would make it not good as a body wash?
How often do you wash your hair now?
Is this good for starting my sister locs in the beginning
Check out my video on To Oil or Not to Oil. I would wait at least until you get to the 6 to 9 month mark. BUT, that depends on the progress of your locs. That could vary depending on your texture. I believe I started with this right after I finished the first bottle of the Sisterlock shampoo.
When did you stop using the sisterlocks starter shampoo? Have you heard of people using Dawn as shampoo?
Wow. Smile. No!!! Hmmm...I guess its mild but enough to toughen the cuticle some. Wow. I could see how it might work.
Is distilled water ok to use
I got everything but the clary sage, bergamot and the geranium essential oils. Are these must haves to complete the mix?
Howdie!!
Tunisia Ali perfect will do. I actually broken down and got the Bergamot before leaving the store. 😊
Thanks for posting and replying.

Hey, is this shampoo safe for starter sisterlocks? Or should we still be using the sisterlocks shampoo for the first few months?
Definitely the stater shampoo for a few months. Test a small area first. Then wait. This shampoo is softening and you should wait until you are securely oast the first several months.
My name is crystal. I want to know how you make the stuff to wash your hair. So I can make some for me thank you.
In the video I have all the directions and supplies. I have 2 videos on my channel. One is for the shampoo and the other is for the miracle grow hair oil. Check them out from the homepage. You'll love it!!
Do you sell this blend at all? I'd definitely be willing to buy it!
Hello Beautiful! I do!

@@TunisiaAli is the shampoo still available for sale?
Can you use your growth shampoo on starter locks?
I don't see why not at face value. With SL just be mindful of anything too slippery. LOL! There's lots of super-powered non fatty oils to use though (essential oils) that are not fatty.
Please list names of each oil used in shampoo
I see the list below, thank you!
Have you ever tried adding rosewater to your shampoo?
I've tried it in an oil moisturizer, but not in my shampoo, I dont think. It's very healthy though! I know that for sure. Try it. It can only help!
Did you use your homemade shampoo on your sisterlocks when you first got them installed?
I would say I waited a few months until I ran out of the 1st 2 bottles. Then I began. I didnt experience what I felt were any issues.
I am a short loose natural. Where do you find the essential oils?
Hi Latoyia!! Welcome to our community. I'm happy you chose us! In most areas a health food store will have them or stores like GNC, Whole Foods, Sprouts , and herb stores. Also, you can get therapeutic grade essential oils on amazon as well for a few dollars cheaper. I do this a lot. The NOW brand is economical and decent quality for use on hair. I wish you the best!
