    I believe this cable is also for the Battery Monitoring System. Unplugging it disables the BMS. Your vehicle will work without the BMS, but you will lose the smart monitoring and management of your battery. This means your vehicle will not shut down accessories when it's voltage drops, and charging will not be as intelligent.

      I prefer not to have that kind of function anyways. I absolutely love Ford for letting me charge my s#it without turning on the car. All my other cars are dumb as hell. Like my 1 ounce phone batteries will ever drain my 70 pound truck battery. Yeah, if you're jamming some 12" subs without running the alternator......you get what you got coming. But shutting off my battery for any reason, pisses me off. So I'll gladly deal with not having that stupid function. Numerous Fords since 1994 and never have I drained a battery on accident with accessories. Yet my Titan XD with 2 huge batteries won't let me charge unless I'm running the stupid thing. It's so dumb. Good riddance Titan XD with blown motor after just 3 years. ✌️
      Ok, venting session over.

      I have had the cable off for over a year with no battery problems, since I am no longer using start /stop there is really no need for smart monitoring any longer.

    Only unhook one of the wires and smart charge will still work.

    2019 Edge here, I wish it was reverse (OFF by default) and if I chose to USE that feature I turn it ON manually vs the way it is now which is annoying. I may try this disconnect, does it throw any engine codes or nag messages about some sorta failure of battery monitoring etc?

    Hey quick question, does your 2019 edge make like a air blowing or hissing sound when pressing the pedal?

    • @ecobooster8298
      @ecobooster8298 2 года назад

      Hi André, thanks for watching!
      I never noticed a hissing or blowing sound but I'll listen carefully and let you know! Make sure your air filter is clean. Other than that it may be normal vacuum sounds. ?

      @@ecobooster8298 Hi! The sound comes from the pedal but I drove test the fusion and it makes a similar sound but it is quieter
      I guess it's supposed to sound like that after all.

      @@andresara4711 Hi Andrè, yes sir! My Fusion does the same thing. It's actually louder than on my Edge. But yes, seems to be normal.
      Hope you like all the mods I did to my Edge. You can do the same!! PEACE!
