Check out the Enegel Style of you haven't. That's what I eneded up with looking for the same thing. Thinner and tougher and have a bit more weight. Think you'll dig it. Plus they will last quite a while. I've been through quite a few Energel inserts, and it still looks new.

Have one I never see in videos that I live by. The Energel Style. As far as gel inserts go, and for us that are .7 and 1.0 users. Pentel Endergel is the best. And this is ine is fairly cheap. Can find them less than $20 a lot. Metal barrel decent EDC. Twist pen with some options in the barrel color. And you can use about any gel replacement if you have a different favorite. Good weight to it and nice deep carry clip. I've had a white one in my pocket for numerous refills so far and love it. They don't chip easily either. But if its next to a flashlight or something for very long, they can ding up.

  • @buckcherry2564

There's the airpress! Love that thing. I find the click more satisfying than the bolt-actions YYMV I like that it is only pressurized when pressed in, so a bad ink wont pop and unload. You can also clip normal ink when it gets lower and use it as a refill, lol.
Powertank also comes in a nice white too.
rOtring is WONDERFUL. I got the silver and orange one next to me. It is a great drafting pen. The knurling feels really nice on them.
Ive never seen the Colleto, that is great! My GF is gonna love it for work doodles and matching her pen colors to her outfit.

The Kuru toga pencil has a huge range of variants, if you want higher quality ones - the hi-grade and advance-upgrade are very nice.
As an artist, I don't really like them for drawing, the sprung tip gives it a little bit of sponginess that's not great for drawing, but for *writing* it's wonderful. My preference is the hi-grade, because it comes in 0.3 size lead, but the advance upgrade is the most aesthetically pleasing and professional looking of them.

Glad you included the Power Tank, one of my favourites. You can get refills so you don’t have to treat it like a disposable (the G2 is the same), but I guess if you buy them as a twelve pack you probably wouldn’t bother. Would be cool if someone started making pens that took the Power Tank refills.

I keep one with any EDC I have that has RiR paper or FieldNotes Waterproof papers. It is a good pen in general, but I have other daily drivers, so they stick with the notebooks and are reliable and like you said, you get a PACK of them, so you can take your spacepen out in the field, or a whole pack of these things and who cares what happens to them or if they vanish during land-nav.

My preferred ink is the sharpie s-gel, but their “nice” one just has a metal barrel, and finding just the refill is very difficult.
I want a more premium pen for work, but I find metal pens to be heavy, so I guess titanium is my best option, so I’m glad you included a relatively inexpensive one.

My pen collection currently consists of a Tombow Airpress (all black), Bastion aluminum bolt action pen (full sized in blue), Parker Jotter (silver with gold clip), Fisher Bullet Space Pen (matte black with matte black clip), Refyne EP1 Copper, Zebra F701, and Swiss Card Classic (blue ink pressurized insert). The Bastion pen is my most carried and the stock ink cartridge it came with is still going after two years. The Refyne EP1 is my fancier carry pen. The Fisher Bullet Space Pen is a back up option I keep in a pencil case. The Swiss Card Classic is for wallet carry. I tried to edc a Powertank and it didn’t work for me, which was a bummer because I had high hopes for it being a pressurized cartridge and me being a big uni fan. I work in a weld shop and the pen just got gummed up or something. The clicker would barley engage and the ink started leaving dry spots. I bought a few hoping the one I had was a dud but eventually they all ended up the same. Right now I’m using a zebra g750 and it’s been working great for a few months now.

    2. The Schneider gelion is from Germany. If you like the gelion, you will love the slider family inserts. Those are hybrids, part ballpoint, part gel ink.
    3. Lamy Logo 3in1 has the same girth as the normal logo ballpoint, but got 3 ballpoints insert if you don't want a pencil. It also uses gravity to switch, which makes it easy to switch color one handed, in contrast to those where a part needs to be rotated.

Some more nice options but none beat the B3 Aviator imo. The Uni Jetstream Prime 3&1 is a serious competitor but if I were going to go with a thicker option like that Id probably go with the Zebra Sharbo X multipen. A bit more expensive but better looking then the Uni imo as I dont like that weird jewel thing on it. The Zebra Sharbo X is pretty sweet but a bit pricey. However the Skilcraft B3 is just so perfect in so many ways that I just havent found anything that tempts me to change. Only thing I would like is a .07mm pencil lead for a bit more durability for hard use. But in reality my OX tools Pro Tuff Carbon Marking Pencil handles my daily proffessional construction marking duties. Although Ive used my B3 in the past for many years and it did the work but I did break a good bit of lead at .05mm and finally decided to go with a dedicated construction pencil and have grown fond of the OX Pro Tuff Carbon.
