While Stranger Things definitely brought everything completely out in the open, I feel like it stood on the shoulders of giants: the Community Season 2 D&D episode.
Yeah WotC has said the SRD for 5.24 won't be relesed until after the MM (due in Feb.) But I think everyone expected that fall 2024 would be dominated by 5.24 so I assume small 5e creators are waiting until next spring to crowdfund anything
I've heard from Mark Seifter (a former pf2e designer you can find on Roll For Combat and Arcane Mark) that Starfinder 2e is mechanically compatible, but there is a "feel" difference to set them apart and that's mostly around being a ranged combat (with laser guns instead of swords). Based on that, I assume there's some low-level starfinder 2e stuff you won't want to play with to play with Pathfinder2e (to avoid everyone just going ranged too early and making melee fighters useless), but would be available when just playing starfinder 2e. then again... maybe they just made sure there's some tech melee weapons that could be used to keep things balanced.
good to see Sir Lucien again
