Dude that was my dream toy in 84 and still is I was 9yrs old myself. It was just me and my mother back then and she barley made enough money to put food on the table and to keep a roof over our head. I remember having a yard sale and sold every toy I owned for 30 dollars to get this toy. So I was still 30 dollars short. My mother went and pawned a wedding ring that belong to my deceased grandmother and they only gave her 40 dollars for it. So I was happy and sad when I found out what my mother had done for me to get my own voltron. The really messed up thing was voltron was sold out everywhere. So basically I never got him. I think I settled for a couple transformers and the gobot command center. Needless to say I never got him as a kid or as an adult. Just seeing this video and amazing figure brought back that memory. Thank u for sharing this Amazing figure.

I had this one as a kid.. we won it at a christmas raffle...
It was my favorite toy of all time...
One day my grandma told me to clean my room and i argued with her and she got angry and knocked it off my desk and it broke..
I got so angry my nose bled.
I should have just cleaned my room..
    Ah, memories.

Great find and Happy Birthday! I’m also in Knoxville so I’ll be checking out Krypto Comics today to see what I can find.

Congratulations on your find! A bit of warning from one who had it as a kid. The Black Lions wings are the weakest parts of the entire set. I had one pop off from the base and could get it back and on another copy the white connector bit (so the wings can fold) can wear down in time and break so you are going to want to be careful with that.
Also, best transformation scene in the series was from Fleet of Doom with the music and the acting. 😁

Thanks. The wings and the leg heads were the first thing I checked before buying it. Second was is it real. My copy as a kid was sooooo loose. He will forever stay on n Voltron mode on my shelf.
I agree on the transformation scene…the best!

I was skeptical that it was legit because of how good the box, Styrofoam and toy looks considering it's 40 years old. The paint, chrome and stickers look flawless, the joints are still tight and the springs still fire the heads. That has to be one of, if not the best condition version of that toy in existence. That is darn impressive, hold onto that Grail and never let it go!

I was skeptical at first but it all checked out. I saw some on eBay selling for way more in worse condition than this oneOnce in a lifetime find. Thanks for watching.

Congrats on your nostalgic purchase!! And yes i saw the Netflix Voltron remake, i hate to admit but it was better than the original 1984 cartoon!! Thats rare to say for remakes!! BTW I had this toy in 1985, and it was a heavy toy i remember when in voltron mode!!

I absolutely agree! Netflix killed it.

@@thegoodthebadtheawesome LOL!! Even TOP GUN 2( MAVERICK) They killed it, and I've seen the first TOP GUN like a Zillion times since 1986!! Did you Collect the G.I figures and toy vehicles from 1984 to 1986? Like Cobra Commander, Duke, Serpentor!!?

I wish Bandi or some toy company would make this same exact sculpt but with updated Articulation.

That would be awesome. Almost like a missing link Optimus that Takara did

Matchbox should do a retro anime accurate Lion & Vehicle Voltron with weapons & accessories like Hasbro did with retro cartoon accurate Optimus Prime that included his weapons & trailer.

I surprised the plastic hasnt degenerated after 40 years. Or is super brittle. A neighbor kid when i was around 7 had this for christmas. He was one of those spoiled kids that room looked like a toy warehouse . I had a couple of the lions. never got the whole thing together.
