  • Welcome Woke Fam!
We wanted to give you all our very FIRST garden tour (YAY!). We have a lot of plants and wanted to tour them in doses for the summer (i.e. Mini Garden Tours).
As you can see, this tour isn’t very “mini”.... (“Sorry, I’m detail-oriented… and maybe a little long-winded” - Kira); nevertheless, we hope you gained new knowledge, inspiration, smiles, and laughs.
As we both get in the groove of giving virtual tours, we hope that our first one was enriching and enjoyable! Let us know if you learned something new in the comments below and what you think about "The Plot"!
Stay tuned for more videos on our channel and check out our Instagram at _wokeremnantgardening_, where we post weekly garden updates!
Don’t forget to Share, Like, & Subscribe, and as always, Plant to Live Y’all!!!

1st, y'all are doing an amazing job!! Your garden is beautiful and thriving!!! Amaranth is also used as a trap crop, so that's why it's getting ate up. I'm growing Amaranth for the first time and it's huge in a pot. Thanks for sharing!!! Hey mom!!!

Thank you so much!!! That makes A LOT of sense with amaranth being a trap crop. We'll need to experiment with that in the future.
Also, Mom says "Hi! 👋🏾!!!" 😂

What a beautiful garden…congratulations~! I planted my asparagus in a large container and it does beautifully. I wasn’t able to yield any for two years though but they grow so fast that sometime I don’t have time to harvest them before the get too mature. Good luck with your gardening.

Thank you for the compliment! We’re very excited to do a small harvest next year. We thought about growing ours in containers, but decided on the plot area because our family LOVES asparagus. Thank you for watching and good luck with your gardening as well 😊

Beautiful garden. In Liberia they cut the leaves and stems of the potato slips vand make a dish called potato greens. It’s very good.

Thank you so much for the information! I looked at a few Liberian sweet potato green recipes and they look delicious! Definitely going to try cooking the greens this year.

Thank you for the info about amaranth! We may need to plant it alongside some of our other crops next year then. Corn has been one of the easier crops to grow in our climate; lots of corn fields in Tennessee. Thank you for watching and we checked out your June Food Forest Update and Tour -- you have a BEAUTIFUL space!!!
