The line where he says "even a penny has more sense (cents)" then leads into the whole clown/funfair scheme. I'm from the UK and understand it like this.. a penny in USA currency only equates to 1 cent; so even a penny has more cents (sense). A penny can only equal 1 cent so technically, impossible. Then the word sense (here's the clown scheme). If you have sense, you are considered wise. Penny+wise "Pennywise" is the clown from I.T. (tv series/movies) which then leads into the whole clown/funfair scheme like the scenes from the movie etc. Em's comparing himself to the murderous clown Pennywise and he's driving around in a car mowing down any haters and critics for trying to get all up in his face (your grill). The grill is the first and most forward point on a car that would be the first point of contact if a car struck into you driving forward. Amazing bars, scheme and rhymes!

The first verse is IMO directed at Snoop - he has a song called Ups & Downs, and the hook goes: there will be ups and downs, smiles and frownes. The way that Em flips those words from the get go of this song is perfect and then hinting Snoop really isn’t part if the rap scene anymore and Em still is -so he can just shut his mouth... it is genius!
